Agreed. I really think people are jumping to conclusions with this "leaf" theme. There are no evidence what-so-ever that it has anything to do with Pirates, it's pure speculation. But if nothing else, we know we'll be getting the Pirate Bay Ideas set - which is a lot more than we've been given for 7 years. So that's exciting.

I'm confused. Why wouldn't they? What's strange about that? Many big sets does.

Absolutely delightful! What I wouldn't give for such a classic Castle set...
-
Ah yes, that one sucked... I was really hoping for something like the old Forestmen subtheme with minifigures like this:
-
Another great example that I don't have assembled right now is this PoTC officer: Give him white hands (for gloves) and a new head and he's perfect for regular Pirates.

Thanks. Yeah, I could find better heads for the other two. That's part of the fun process; finding heads that fit the character. But for the most part, I don't keep them as their "real" characters for long anyway, and instead repurpose them for my city. But I plan on keeping Upside Down on display for some time, so I'll be on the lookout for a better head for Will for sure. If anyone has a suggestion, let me know!

Sure: Will Byers, Harry Potter and Joey Tribbiani Here, I haven't attempted to re-create the actual characters from which I took the parts per se - but are simply using them for random townspeople in my modular city (which the 3 above will become as well, at some point).

I'm a huge fan of the original idea behind making minifigs yellow, to de-attach them from any conceptions of race or colour. In the land of LEGO, all minifigs were the same - having a "fantasy" skin colour. And as such, I only use yellow-skinned minifigs in my collection. But of course, when buying licensed sets, that's not the type of minifigs you get. So whenever I get a licensed minifigure that I like, I "yellow-ify" it by replacing the hands and head with yellow counterparts - given that the torso isn't "tarnished" with licensed skin colours. Those that have skin colours on their torsos, I sell on Bricklink (same for the heads and hands). I've done this with all sorts of licensed figures over time; LoTR/The Hobbit, PoTC, Harry Potter, Friends, Stranger Things. Of course, it's tough (and often impossible) to find heads that are as good and detailed - but that's a price I'm willing to pay. Now... am I the only one who has this obsession?

This is one of the most impressive LEGO builds I have seen for a long, long time. The size, the attention to detail, the tecniques... everything just comes together magnificently. Amazing! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

A shame with the car, seems like such a rehash. Same style as the car in the Downtown Diner, same colours as the diner itself... I had hoped for something a bit more fresh. Nothing wrong with the design itself though, it's well-made. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I really like the overall look and the fact that it's two seperate buildings, like the Pet Store. Leaves so much more room for customizability. I didn't love the two last modulars and see this as an excellent return to form. I'm a bit disappointed by the colours though, as I would have preferred something that would stand out a bit more compared to the last modulars - which had very similar colouring. Fun with the new animals, really like those. -
Does it really matter? Live in the now and enjoy the sets for what they are today.

This came as quite the shocker... and the sceptic in me fears what this will mean for myself, as a seller on BrickLink. In the past, LEGO hasn't exactly seemed particularly fond of re-sellers... But perhaps LEGO will positively surprise us all with this. There's definately tons of potential here, if used in a way that would please sellers and buyers on BrickLink alike.
-
I didn't notice that, good find!
-
The difference is that the first wave had both normal heads and possesed heads for the civilians included in the box; the second wave has only possesed heads.
-
I'm extremely disappointed with the next wave overall. Only the portal set looks good as a whole, though I may get some lose figures from some of the other sets. The clowns look fun.

If it's truly a bookshop, my better half will be thrilled. She has been talking about a modular bookshop for ages now. And it would be a marvelous fit for her favorite figure: -

The deceased Governor Hiddenside, most vile, evil and corrupt while still amongst the living, has returned from the land of the dead. Having seen his spirit even further corrupted by the nefarious netherworld, he now has an even larger lust for dread than ever before. Former enemies and allies alike beware, for the terrible revenge of Governor Hiddenside is here...- 33 replies

I was reluctant to use pliers, but this worked. Thanks.

I've been having this problem more and more lately. Currently, I have a head stuck on a torso (put together brand new) water (both hot and otherwise), cold nor heat can help me with. Did anyone ever find a good solution for a fix that does not cause scratches or other deformations to the head?
-
That is amazing. Love it. Have you considered some Hidden Side sets? Like the school, for example?

I hope this one does poorly so that we'll get a regular building again next year...
