  1. I got over the point where you put the comments with just "holding a gear and pushing axles in" kind of methodology. I am trying to step the rest of the base and uploading it then Gerald
  2. Have a look at this picture from Philo's page: The power for the IR needs to come on the two outer wires (9V and 0V) whereas the converter cable puts the voltage on the inner wires (C1 and C2). In that way the IR receiver does not get a supply. So two possibilities: First you cut the cable and solder C1 and 9V together and C2 and 0V OR if you do not want to damage the cables you can Secondly connect the wires (9V and C1 as well as 0V and C2) within the two PF connectors. This requires a bit of patience and aluminum foil or thin copper wire. To see which contact you need to connect see Philo's page. Conveniently the two pairs of contacts to connect are separated by the plastic bar whcih makes this task a bit easier. If you want to stick to a LEGO purist solution you need to connect a PF battery box the following way: OLD Battery Box ----Converter Cable ----- NEW PF Battery Box --------IR Receiver This way the PF Battery Box does the job of connecting the two pairs of contacts. PS: Philo, I hope it is ok that I directly linked the pictures, if not let me know.
  3. Did you ever had a sample of that 3D-printed? I would be interested to do so for a trial
  4. People read it and straight went to the shop... that's why :-)
  5. Well, how much did this part add? Isn't it the same thing? Lights up and start blinking if you reverse the voltage.
  6. That is really a nice topic! I am looking myself into a non-line-of-sight communication between the PF Elements. However I took BT out of the equation as the modules I found were somehow expensive. I looked up modules in the 868MHz band which are cheaper than BT. My plan is to keep them in the IR-Receiver housing to ensure compatibility. There could then be a BT-868Mhz or an IR/868Mhz Gateway to control the elements either by a BT device or the standard PF remotes. I will definitely follow this as I want this for the PF controlled Monorail and I do not want to place IR-Towers everywhere!
  7. I just put the buggy motor on it instead of the backrotor, so not really inside
  8. Given that BL started up somewhere in 2000 and relying on the LDRAW catalogue which was there nearly 5 years before, I think the prior art clause should apply... Sounds like rounded corners on a rectangular thingy... Edit: here's the link to the original James Jesseman LDRAW parts list as of 1997...
  9. medium azur = Maersk Blue?!? or not?
  10. I agree with you, did not go up that much...
  11. I guess we will soon see a 42009 X! Looking forward to it!
  12. Same here, no issues. German card. Shopped in the US and got points as per the USD value. No problem at all. In the meantime I have a new card as the old one was not machine readable anymore but it is tied to the same account
  13. Who's that small bug? Minion_0501 by 1wave, on Flickr Ein Minion! Minion_0500 by 1wave, on Flickr when packing for an exhibition I came across a Lowell's sphere and I could not resist streching it! It's a pity I did not have two dark-bl-grey magnifying glasses, as those wouly fit perfectly! I cannot show you a picture of his back, as his pants are "down", i.e. I did not have any more blue parts to finish this part of the sphere :-) ... and a final one: Minion_0498 by 1wave, on Flickr Gerald
  14. Selbstbeherrschung ;-) ...und ich bin heute nicht mit dem Auto in die Arbeit gefahren...so geht sich der Ausflug nicht in einer vernünftigen Zeit aus...
  15. Simply beautiful. Great to see the use of the globe piece, i got a few on sale as well and was thinking to put them on the roofs, It is a welcome diversion from the tan-only spheres. Beautiful ruins, love them
  16. Interesting approach! have a look at this solution that "inof" used to power his Monorail: http://www.galaxiede...php?f=20&t=1069 Picture by info Those were cell-phone batteries that give a great flat-pack, just one brick thick. Find the construction details behind the link I posted above.
  17. I think adding a GHOST command before the submodel will help
  18. ...seems your cat is used to all this big stuff.... she does not look too impressed at all and just continues grooming :-) So your whole weight rests on 32 axles? About 2,5 - 3 kg per axle? At what points are those axle supported? I would like to know how many pins are in there to transfer the loads. Gerald
  19. I never ever had a missing piece in a set.... however... In April I got the 10232 Cinema, opened it... and out came... yellow support pieces?!? Pulled out the rest, not even a single bag was right... sealed instructions, also wrong ones. Completely puzzeld. Asked my wife if she sees the same thing...yes. (Good) Next thought, how to explain the store manager? Checked the seals if they were overtaped, nothing. Original seals... So what was in? Quarter of a harbor, two police cars, two bags from some basic brick collection, half a train set...weirded... Returned to the store, explained the rather unbelievable, got an exchange which was much heavier than the first box I got. Unfortunately I did not get to know if they had a return of a set before. That was the craziest thing happened to me when buying LEGO.
  20. New Ferrari 8674 in a bit of a damaged box during a "going out of business sale" for 25 EUR!!!
  21. ALso if you look at Sariel's drifting video, you see that the tire touches the "body", might not be much, but every loss of momentum is a loss ;-) Your speed is nearly at the calculated limit of 18 kph with your setup
  22. Basically the main model needs to include all the others, like they said be referenced. If they are there becaus of being e.g. a house of a town which is an independent structure, you need to create seperate instructions. LPUB does not handle this. Regarding buffers, you can use the same buffer repeatedly, so no need to change them.
