  1. Uh, wrong and wrong. And I'll leave it at that.
  2. STOKE!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Hey, I'm not going to question anyone about their sources. Besides, a good rumor is almost as much fun as the real facts. As far as the idea of a detective agency, fine. I'll buy that. I'm more concerned about the style of the building rather than what it's titled. I just don't want another modular 'lite'.
  4. Sorry, but I don't have the initiative to set up a photo sharing account. However, if someone sends me a message with an email address, I'm always happy to email a picture.
  5. Back in the day, like the late 90s to about 2008, I sold a lot on ebay. I think you can tell by my posts that I'm not really a 'people person'. I always included a lot of pictures in my auctions along with a money back guarantee where I would even pay the return shipping cost. Well, that wasn't enough for some people. So, I stopped selling. (FYI, I was selling vintage electronics). Now, I donate what I don't want/need to Goodwill industries. Or, with lego, simply give it away to kids. The minifigs are sort of like a bulk collection. They seem to be multiplying like inhabitants of some, well, never mind..... In building the 96 x 64 four story GE, I certainly wound up with a lot of left over minifigs. I'll have even more after my OCD is manifested by a fifth floor on the GE.
  6. Yes, buy town hall. I think it's frequently underrated. As a mater of fact, I expanded it so that it's on a 64 wide base.
  7. While I don't really care about interiors, I hate minifigs. Hate. All of mine are dismembered and live in one gallon, plastic storage bags. Except for the Death Star. Those minifigs are okay.
  8. What surprises me is the lack of any type of leak. I had a general idea about the Mixer months before it came out. General idea, no specifics. Unless I count the 'bank' rumor that I got from the same lego source, I haven't had a hint at anything. At least we'll have everything going back through GE for the foreseeable future.
  9. Your version looks better. Nice work.
  10. Good, objective review. I'm in total agreement with you. Thanks for your efforts in providing the community with an excellent review.
  11. The flatiron building will be great. I hope it's done on a larger scale that most sets in this series. I'm not asking for 3000 pieces, just something that will allow for a recognizable final product.
  12. Along with 99% of all football fans.
  13. First of all, when you try to talk about real football in America, you have to call it 'soccer'. Second of all, when I bring up 'soccer' just about everyone says they are a Manchester United Fan. Why? That's the only real football team that they've ever heard of. The only thing worse is when I'm talking football with a real fan and someone comes up and starts talking about how their eight year old daughter plays soccer. So, anytime Man U loses....... its a good thing. If they played ISIL, I'd cheer for ISIL.
  14. My biggest regret is buying 10221 the superstar destroyer. My strategy now is to leave it sealed in the box and trade it for modulars or winter village sets that I missed. I may have to wait awhile depending on values. Why did I buy 10221 in the first place? Well, it looked impressive on the store shelf.
  15. When all is said and done, Balotelli may not be the bargain that he seems to be. We should start a 'pool' and guess the date when Liverpool has to explain something he did or said.
  16. Did you see Balotelli sitting in the rain today and probably thinking '.....dear god, what have I done?'
  17. I love Art Deco design. Some in the art world attribute part of art deco's decline in popularity after WWII to it being a favorite style of many 30s totalitarian regimes, especially in their propaganda (posters). I certainly hope that lego doesn't share the same fate now anti capitalist and anti personal freedom organizations are using it in their video presentations.
  18. Just to clarify. If someone did a MOC of, say, the democratic national convention with the building, the crowd and minifigs as the nominees/speakers (or a combination thereof, if not all) well, it would be hard to say the political intent outweighed the MOC lego art aspect of the creation. I would find that totally acceptable. When a few simple bricks are used as the background for questionable figures and questionable facts, and the video is almost totally about a political viewpoint, it's really a stretch to say its about lego and not politics. What is there to comment on as far as lego goes? Seriously. The minimalism? The color? What if I post a swastika make out of lego? It wouldn't be about politics, it would be about lego...now,wouldn't it?
  19. No, it's really not about Lego. It's a political video where a few lego bricks are used as a visual aid. But, I suppose your paradigm is shaped largely on a blue state/red state basis. I'm fine as long as the international community realizes that lego is not being used to display facts. Lego is being used by an organization to further their political agenda. And facts are generally irrelevant to the producers of this video. Lego as propaganda.
  20. Well, apparently facts and lies are synonymous in many portions of the world. Go ahead, let the video stand. It's a good example of a country committing suicide. Besides, I'm busy getting leni Riefenstahl her star on the Hollywood walk of fame. Because, after all, it wasn't about the ideas, it was about the medium.
  21. It was a good display of facts!?!?!?! See, there ya go, someone who obviously doesn't know the facts or politics of the post. Or they would know it is screaming its support of a certain party. It's only a good video if you support the agenda pushed by, well, never mind......
  22. I would urge the moderators to pull this topic. It's about 2% lego and 98% politics. The Brookings Institute has traditionally been left of center. This video is promoting a political agenda and shouldn't have any place on a website for lego enthusiasts. I am not offering a counter point to the political stance taken by the video since I do not want to encourage a political discussion. Suffice to say you could use lego to promote a different political agenda with a different set of 'facts'. Remember, its a big election year in the USA. Thank you.
  23. Ordered the first two winter village sets and last years set. Decided to collect that series since my family is such a big fan of anything having to do with Christmas. Buying them is one thing. Finding a suitable display area is a completely different thing.
  24. "And my guess as to why it was included in the mini Modulars. Not because it was included in the series, but they needed another build to make the set justifiable. I don't think it sold too well anyway, but having one fewer builds would probably not have sold any better." Weak. :-) I tell ya, some of y'all will do about anything to keep MS out of the modular series. Since it was advertised by Lego in modular advertising, I guess (like it or not) it's a modular. Granted, it may seem like the proverbial piece of whatever in the modular punch bowl, but it's a modular.
  25. Thanks for this detailed look into the GG. In my opinion, it may be the best modular.
