Very nice job on the train. Looks great. Funny, they are called turtles when they have a top speed of 200 km/h. What's next? Maybe an E444R?

I don't think I've seen anyone mount the motor that way in the tram before. Vertically the M-motor takes up 5 bricks high if I recall from my AEM7 engine MOC. Your challenge is going to make motor + transmission mount all fit in the available space. Go for and let us know you make it.

Very nice. It has that Italian ETR 485 train feel to it.

I use PAB cups, bins, boxes, plastic bags, rolling cabinet draws. whatever and wherever things fit. What worked when I had few pieces is not working too well with a larger collection. You'll find you may have to change methologies as your collection increases in size or at least get a bigger house. I don't manage my LEGO collection. My LEGO collection manages me. Beverly Hills Cop III. Lots of swearing.

Thank you again, MKJoshA. There is monthly yield for the property type. Maybe the settlement pays a monthly security fee like paying for police services with your home property taxes. Or the pirates run some kind of protection racket out of the fort.

Sweet addition to the 7740. It's a classic.

Welcome aboard. I do recommend building on a table at our age. It'd be easier on the body and various joints.

I have some of those skateboard bases. I think they came with my kids' Happy Meals in the early 2000s. They were part of a McDonald Sport set like this one.

I have adapted to the new version. I was getting used to the forum side bar for recent posts then it disappeared. I had to get used to not having it. Change can be hard.

Clear stickers can be more challenging depending the color combinations of what's printed on the sticker and the LEGO color. Red on clear stuck on yellow LEGO, looks ok. Light yellow on clear stuck on black LEGO, can't see the yellow. Not having a printer that can print white can limit some combinations. To work around, I used white Avery mailing labels and cut to shape with an X-Acto knife like the Imperial Crest. Or try to print the LEGO background color on the white sticker to match. Some times, you just have to experiment to see what works and doesn't. You can also outsource the printing if your budget permits. Day 214 of 365: Yellow Line by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

Bewildered Newbie. First Lego train set for kid?
dr_spock replied to DanielC's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's probably more powering complexity than you need right now. Keep it simple to start. 12 NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries and a charger can cost less than the LEGO Rechargeable Battery box and its AC charger. You can run the train with 6 of AAA batteries while the other 6 batteries are being recharged in the charger. AAA batteries can be reused in other electronic devices if the train passion doesn't take. I did that way back with my kids' battery powered toys. Toys are no more but I'm still using some of those NiMH rechargeable batteries in other devices. "Ties" are 2x8 plates that those individual ME rails connect to. HoMa has some nice details on his website http://www.holgermatthes.de/bricks/en/me-plastic-rails.php- 13 replies

Will Blu Tack/sticky tack stain LEGO?
dr_spock replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It doesn't look like the color gets absorbed into ABS plastic. I have a second hand Spiderman that came with blue tack stuck to its back for an unknown amount of time. At least a couple months before I noticed it. There was no blue on the red plastic after I scaped it off. -
Bewildered Newbie. First Lego train set for kid?
dr_spock replied to DanielC's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Welcome aboard. ME tracks will give you wider radius curves. Do note they can come apart with rough play by a 5 years-old. You could glue the rails to the ties if necessary. For extra straight tracks and switches, LEGO still do sell them separately at LEGO stores and online. 60051 is a good starter set if you guys like passenger trains. You can load it up with minifigures.- 13 replies

What sets do you think are a good investment right now?
dr_spock replied to Lasivian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Large modulars, D2C sets, etc. As with any instruments of investment, past performance do not guarantee future results. -
Let the girls open and play with clean pristine LEGO if they like the set. I'd avoid buying used LEGO for kids to play after the cat urine incident.

Cute little vignette and atmosphere. That angry crowd seem like they might try to make turtle soup if their turtle didn't win.
