Generic Contest Discussion
Alasdair Ryan replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
We could make a temporary inventory of parts allowed for both LDD and MLcad/SR3D users... -
Thanks Superkalle,do you know of a tutorial that shows you how to move LDD parts around in a text editor? I changed the colour to black, but it is still not showing anything up on screen. I also just tried to import a single track piece from MLcad to LDD and I also got a blank screen, I also tried to export a track element from LDD to MLcad too which I got a blank screen on MLcad. This would suggest that both LDD can't read the MLcad part and MLcad can't read the LDD part. Now here is a thought, can LDD read sub parts to MLcad or is there some sort of extension that MLcad can not read that LDD uses?

I do get what you mean, would a automatic shift not be better, although you may run the risk off it not selecting or keeping jumping out of gear.- 18 replies

Surly you would want the diff lock separate too the ratio selector? What you want is two separate gearboxes that one side controls the speed and the other controls the winch and the diff lock.- 18 replies

I agree it looks like to have driven it into a wall at high speed. -
Thank you for the link,I tried both versions of the XML update but I am still getting a blank screen. I have added the MLcad text below if any one wants to try it for themselves. 0 Untitled 0 Name: ldd test.ldr 0 Author: LDraw 0 Unofficial Model 1 16 -144 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -128.4 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -112.8 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -97.2 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -81.6 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -66 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -50.4 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -34.8 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -19.2 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -3.6 18 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -160 18 -52 0 0.4339 -0.901 0 -0.901 -0.4339 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -174.073 11.2228 -52 0 0.9749 -0.2225 0 -0.2225 -0.9749 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -177.549 -4.0054 -52 0 0.7818 0.6235 0 0.6235 -0.7818 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -167.81 -16.2174 -52 0 -0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -20 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -35.6 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -51.2 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -66.8 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -82.4 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -98 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -113.6 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -129.2 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -144.8 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -160.4 -18 -52 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 -4 -18 -52 0 -0.4339 0.901 0 0.901 0.4339 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 10.073 -11.2228 -52 0 -0.9749 0.2225 0 0.2225 0.9749 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 13.5487 4.0054 -52 0 -0.7818 -0.6235 0 -0.6235 0.7818 -1 0 0 3873.dat 1 16 3.8099 16.2174 -52 0 0 -1 0 -1 0 -1 0 0 3873.dat 0 0

Ok, I tried what you suggested but I just got a empty building window (it still played the finished loading model sound). That suggests that LDD is not recognising the part, although they share the same part number. Would it be at all possible to make a new feature that could make LDD manager read MLcad chain/tread and convert it into a LDD?

Dump Truck question
Alasdair Ryan replied to Rishab N's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I hope you can see this image below and how it works, but that is what you want, the ram is turned around so it is facing the front of the truck. On the yellow truck the ram is part of the linkage system.
