    Awesome work. I like the attention to details in the kitchen areas as well as the mechanical devices on the roof. The food trays are really well thought out as well. I think this a very complete design.

    Very cool design. I like the engine that is exposed and the steering vains are well thought out.

    These micro-dioramas are so cool because they tell one scene of a story and leave the rest of the story up to the viewers imagination. Great work on this scene!

    Cool looking build. I like that you included the hood and engine. I would revisit the antenna on the back of the Humvee as I think a flat circle piece that is elevated above the roof line might be more along the line of what is used on newer patrol vehicles.

    Awesome work on this! All of the visual ques I look for in a MI-8 are there and with the glass you put on there for the front windscreen make this classic bird look a lot more modern. Well done all around on this build.

    1st Corner of my new building and it is 90% done. the Main tower is going to be, hopefully, twice the height of this corner.

    Andy, I completely hear you about the other ideas getting in the way, I've been trying to do a large build for a while, just haven't put fingers to bricks yet to get it done. I figured with the goal of this year finally being an attender at Brickfair I would meet my goal if I just did a smaller build.

    So I just started to really look into building Micropolis buildings and have the ultimate goal of presenting a few blocks worth of quality builds for this years Brickfair VA. I have some pie in the sky ideas but right now I just need to see about getting the basics down of the standard. So I present my first two images from my first attempt at building in this fashion. Please be honest with critiques so that I can get better.

    Is there a way to import models from one file to another? Like if you like a certain subassembly can you move it to another model so that you don't have to constantly rebuild subassemblies.

    Stillinamerica, I don't mind if you share the pictures some where else. I loved your display too but I didn't get a chance to edit all my pictures yet. I've posted some more below that includes the few good ones I took of your display. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience at the Brickfair. I'm hoping to display next year, but I have a lot of pieces to sort through and purchase before getting my MOC built. I remember your family all being there on Saturday. I have a co-builder who will be 9 next year, where the events for the conference attendee's pretty decent for kiddos to attend or are they more AFOL oriented?

    Thank you TheLegoDr. I was looking for exactly what the Wiki answered. I figured this style of building was like the "Moon Base" designs where there where some specific design standards to them. Thank you for the links and quick response.

    Good looking start. I've been playing around with the idea of trying to do modular buildings as well. Do you know where there is some guidance for the design aesthetics or requirements?

    I've been working a bit on other parts of the ship and this space is similar to the Aux. Power Units (APU) that am thinking of using on the Security Cutter.

    Got back earlier this afternoon from BrickFest Virgina 2015 and man I feel inspired! I'll probably post some pics up from the visit at some point this week but after getting the kids down for the night I got the old LDD out for some more building. Starting to plan out the 01 Level of this ship, There will be two parts of the super structure that will extend to the 02 Level which is where the bridge is located. Above the bridge obviously will be the mast as well as a plethera of antenne and other greebles. The two platforms in front of the bridge will also house items but I'm not sure just yet what I plan on putting there. For those wondering I'm designing this ship with Lego Digital Designer (Currently V4.3) and rendering them using a third party software called BlueRender. I think they produce some stunning results.
