What's embarrassing about it? Yes, I think most of AFOLs are male. -

survey Picture versus Video Reviews
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
I'm not agreeing with this statement. For example, I wasn't at all planning on buying Benny's spaceship, but after seeing the Rufus review on this set I decided I wanted one. So I did give more than a shit about this review and it dramatically changed my desired to get this set. Also I've read on several occasions that people decided to buy a set after seeing more about it in a pictorial review. -
Phred, you were gone but certainly not forgotten! Glad that you are BACK :)

I would like to find out how you are feeling about picture versus video reviews. Here on EB we have the reviewers academy with a mission to bring the best possible picture reviews to the LEGO community. On the other hand I recently saw a really nice video review of the 6251 Pirate Minifigures set by our member Romance14. What's your view on pictorial versus video reviews? Share your thoughts here (and please fill in the poll form).

It's really interesting to see a 3rd party minifig customization brand to put a really innovative product on the market. Brickforge just launched the innovative ‘RiGGED’ system allowing customizers to design and decorate their minifigs like never before. RiGGED stands for: Rapid – Interchangeable – Guns – Gear – Equipment – Design The RiGGED system is a type of MMA (Modular Minifigure Accessory) structure and consists of traditional 3mm & 1.5mm peg & hole combinations integrated into quality ABS minifig accessories. Armors, belts, straps & other types of pack devices contain a series of 1.5mm pegs; constructing a three-dimensional canvas to which minifig enthusiasts can attach a number of other RiGGED accessories. The mix of which spawns hundreds of color/type combinations making each minifig more unique than the previous. Discuss here in our minifig customization forum.

We only have Google ads at the bottom of each page and one on the frontpage, but no pop-up ads or anything of the sort. I'm browsing EB all the time from several devices (PCs, tablets, smartphone) all without any ad-blockers and never did I have any issues like the one mentioned.

Haha, here are my troops Simply stunning this army of yours! Am I right that you didn't do any customization, except for adding few (paper) flags? (moved to the pirates forum which is the right place for napoleonic wars)

REVIEW: 7418 Scorpion Palace
Bonaparte replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A wonderful classic set! I recently got one, but it's in parts, spread over a big lot of LEGO. I'm now in the process of cleaning all the bricks from the big lot and taking out all the parts of this set. Once I'm done with that I'm ready to build the set. -
Why only is it Mega Blocks?
Bonaparte replied to samurai-turtle's topic in Forum Information and Help
Well maybe the staff needs to have a close look at the filter and the philosophy behind it. I'll initiate such a discussion with the staff. I think most of the filtered words are there since many years now and the filter could maybe use some updating here and there. Most important for me is that it shouldn't make discussions difficult. For example, with Mega Blocks being one of the main competitors of LEGO it makes sense the name would pop-up in discussions from time to time. -
There is a big difference between Megablocks and clone brands on one side and Brickforge/Brickarms (just to name these 2) on the other side. The first group are direct competitors to LEGO, making full sets or copies of fully LEGO sets. They don't position themselves are being an extension to LEGO. The second group are not making sets, only individual parts, positioned for compatibility with LEGO. As a LEGO fan I'm not interested in the first group of products, but I am interested in the second group.
