  1. My new english army has just begun recruiting for the campaign on the Peninsulla and has only 3 officers, 5 rifles and 27 line infantry. No match yet for the army of Napoleon but in a few months they will be ready for Waterloo. My rifle company:
  2. I have put the torso's of Napoleon and the Yellow Imperial Guard in my brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...low_-_torso.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...oleon-torso.jpg The flags can be downloaded from this great site: http://www.callnetuk.com/home/alanpendlebury/index.htm

  4. With some customisation you can make a nice french army with the bluecoats. The standard imperial soldier is a perfect match for the napoleonic line infantry. When you give him blue pants and yellow epaullets, you get french light infantry. When you change the shako to a busby, then you get a old guard grenadier. I took some picts of my french army to demonstrate: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...my/napoleon.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...ne-infantry.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...ht-infantry.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...y/artillery.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...l-army/band.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...uirassiers.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...le-and-flag.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...-grenadiers.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...y/full-army.jpg This time with deeplinks! Thanks for the advice ;-)
  5. It took me about 6 months to collect this army. Since I first posted the pictures, I raised a new regiment of light infantery (10 soldiers) and an artillery battery (4 cannons + 8 soldiers + officer). I'm now working on a Mameluke guards for Napoleon (as suggeste on this forum) :-)
  6. I chose the battle of Jena because it was won by Napoleon. In my timeline the battle of Waterloo never took place ;-) . Don't want to see my army defeated.
  7. You are right about the colour guard. I'm going to add some Mameluke guards for Napoleon. I hope that by the end of the year my french army will be completly ready. In parallel I have started to build a british army. Already have 21 soldiers and 3 officers. I buy the minifigs on Bricklink, ebay, some markets with old lego. Costs a lot of money *wacko* (like every hobby). The average price for 1 soldier is about $4 - $5. Also the cavalry helmets and muskets are not very cheap.
  8. I've stopped updating this thread, please go here for following the evolution of my French army! Napoleon has its regiments of line infantry ready in formation. Behind the first line is a reserve regiment waiting for the emperors orders. The elite cavalry is also ready to attack and waiting without patience for the battle to start. Behind the second line is Napoleons most feared weapon: The old guard. When they are ordered to the battlefield, the enemy knows they must retreat or be destroyed. Note: This thread already has a rich history and I've been adding updates and new pictures in the first post. UPDATE 15/01/2007: Some new pictures of my army as it looks today: 170x imperial line infantry (10 are not in the pictures and will become part of the 9th regiment of the line) 20x imperial light infantry 20x old guard grenadiers 12x cuirassier (heavy cavalry) 6x artillery 7x officer 8x non-commissioned officer 2x imperial band 1x mameluke guard 1x napoleon Total manpower: 247 UPDATE 15/08/2006: The army as it was some months ago... Click on the thumbs to see the larger pictures: 100x imperial line infantry 20x imperial light infantry 20x old guard grenadiers 11x cuirassier (heavy cavalry) 6x artillery 6x officer 2x imperial band 1x mameluke guard 1x napoleon The first pics: 22/06/2006:
