  1. Excellent work with this :)
  2. Some of these are really good :)
  3. LEGO produces sets which will sell, we have asked for larger and more complex sets and this is what we get, if you like it buy it, if you don't then don't buy it. I have little interest in this set myself but understand it is what some people want, if it sells at that price then that is great, if not LEGO will learn from it. I look at PPP (price per piece) myself when buying sets for MOC fodder, but what the parts are also matters....
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I am already working on a design for my next attachment :)
  5. Good work with this, I look forward to seeing your progress :)
  6. Unimog Attachment - Cherry Picker (Aerial Bucket) Over the past few weeks I have been working on another Unimog attachment, this is a Cherry Picker (Aerial Bucket) which mounts to the rear of LEGO Technic set 8110. A couple of years ago I designed and built an "Off Road Unimog Aerial Bucket Truck", a video of this can be seen here: Based on my experience for this I decided to try and build a suitable attachment for the Unimog. Below are some photos of the end result, it features: - Lifting of the bucket / arm: This is by the black handle on the side of the turn table. This drives via two gears the large LA. - Rotation of the bucket / arm: This is driven off the rear PTO via three gears to the turn table. - Manual lowering of the stabilizers: These are need to keep it level when it is rotating. I spent a lot on time on getting the arm to raise and lower how I wanted, to achieve the maximum lifting height while still lowering down to roof height for transporting. I had originally wanted to have the stabilizers lowered via a small LA on each side but found this didn't work how I wanted so I went back to having this as a manual function. Overall I am very happy with how this has turned out.
  7. Picked up another (my third) copy of 42024 today. Good moc fodder :)
  8. Because I want the parts tomorrow :) This was not just t build a trailer but to add to my parts collection to do it... That is what I am thinking...
  9. Unimog attachments, maybe a trailer of some sort. The large wheels and panels in 42050 would be good but it is 30% more here than 42049...
  10. Thanks.I can't post any photos until the weekend but I think you are right with number two, I might need to add a second row to make it stronger.
  11. I am tossing up between 42049 and 42050 as "MOC fodder". For the price difference which is better value?
  12. My photos didn't work, will take some tomorrow.
  13. Hi all. I am hoping for some advice on a problem I have come across with my latest MOC, this is a cherry picker. In basic terms when it gets to a given point of raising the arm it gets a "twist" at the bottom near the large LA which makes it fall out of alignment much worse at the top. When it is higher or lower it is fine, just at this given point. Having looked at it on and off for the past few weeks I have gotten to the point where I am not sure how to fix it. If I was to use two LA's I think that would fix it but this is not something I can do and it seems like overkill. Has anybody else built a cherry picker and had this issue? Paul
  14. You are doing a great job with this, I love reading the updates.
  15. Great idea, I store different parts together so would not really work for me :(
  16. Best to buy sets ASAP...
  17. I was involved in arranging the first two Brixhibitions in Launceston but have not had anything to do with them for the last two years. They are good fun and a good way to met other LEGO heads :)
  18. Yesterday my wife, daughter and I went along to Brixhibition Launceston 2016. I was very impressed with most of the displays and think the organisers did a great job. Brixhibition Launceston 2016 Photos - http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2016/04/brixhibition-launceston-2016-photos.html
  19. You have done an amazing job with this, I love the level of detail.
