Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

It isn't a prior code though, acalade had his numbers mixed up, 10255 hasn't been used that I could find and the R2 is 10225. -

found that Reddit link, it sounds very interesting, guess we are waiting until November to find out, lots of speculation on RRP, Recommended Retail Price? 2699 seems odd amount, the rest reads similar to US interests so the 2699 is throwing me a bit. Could be $269.90? hard to think it is $26.99...not sure how many folks would buy at a $2,699 amount. -

Good point, but I would have to wonder how many market street sets were purchased amongst the large populace that now collects the modular line. I am guessing that even those who have it (not me unfortunately) would still pick up a new bakery. So if not bakery then what would be your desire? I still like the hospital idea, the museum idea, library would be cool, but the books would be interesting, I picture in my mind an open library to the third floor with the ladders and circular stairways...but again the books, I can't see TLG putting lots of individual ones in there. We do have food places already so maybe not the bakery, we do need more living quarters for the people, have a lot of businesses. I like the Pet Shop idea with two sides as well. -

oh it's all good, I will admit to the interiors being my last item of desire, but I do like a good interior, I love when they put bathrooms in, cause our minifigures certainly need to use them...that's what kills me about shows and movies, they never show that stuff, which is ok, but you have a grand movie where the actors do something for hours on end and never use the facilities? Unrealistic...so before I get too off tangent, I would like to take a lot of the suggestions from our fellow members on this thread and see them become reality. Bakery, Hospital, Museum, city parks, I picture the whole Lego movie set up in my basement of the modular with streets and parks and all that...going to have to get a bigger basement though. The bank is actually fantastic in my opinion, just wanted it to be bigger and the laundry seems to have gotten in the way of that. I would rather have a modular bank and then a modular laundry, and the laundry could combo with a tailor shop and then apartments above. Hoping someone pops in a rumor today that is solid. -

I never said I do not like detailed interiors, but they aren't as important to me as a good build. However, there are many cool things about a detailed interior, I enjoyed the details on the PR a lot to be honest and I will agree that the height seems to be getting smaller as a trend, but I am hopeful that will not be permanent. I would hope the PR is the smallest height we go to anymore, but the real key is just to make a good solid building, outside first to me, but then inside as well. You are right though, I do not care for the multi business model, I think the bank could have been made way better with the exclusion of the laundry. I would guess a lot of us, not sure but going to say 65%, usually build it, then just put it up for display and maybe will rearrange once in a while. Personally I love the Haunted House and I know a few folks were able to make that more modular and fit it into their block, I have mine sitting to the side a bit and rotate that a bit, especially this time of year. In fact, I would love for Lego to do a Haunted line similar to the Christmas/Holiday line. I know they did Monster Fighters but that was also based around a theme story, I would like to do more of the whole Haunted theme, throw in mini modular etc. Guess you could MOD the Scooby Doo line a bit that way as well. In the end, Lego will always give a product for us, some may like that particular build, some may not. I await the next one just like everyone else. -
I agree with everyone else, this is spot on, was just there in August and this is like looking at a replica of the store from each side, down to the outside, inside and the secret employee space and the giant pick a brick wall. What struck me when seeing it was the open ceiling for a lot of it so you can see inside if you are on the 3rd floor food court. Excellent work.

Thanks Steve, saw it, agree with you, must have missed what CM4sci said, appreciate it. I looked for the info on Reddit as folks had mentioned, couldn't find that either but that is ok. I can sort of picture them by descriptions. I think they seem to be getting away from the landmarks and big buildings for this series, I still like it a lot, it is really the most true adult line they have. It will be interesting to see where Jamie takes the line...there are many fine ideas that people have done that could be basically just boxed up and sold.

Do you have a link? Would like to see that, how big is it, etc...please give details if you can't post link.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Herky replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
A bakery would be good, so would a good train station, but then you have to somehow get a train involved and the size of the current trains is too large for the modular line. Hospital also good, the museum from the Ideas line revamped would be nice, going to be interesting to see, but if we continue the line of multi businesses then it has to be a mashup so could be a bakery combo with something. Before the DO it was all one business so hopefully go back to that, but I doubt it. When speculating here, you need multi business combo with story...the ideas presented are great but not sure what combo goes together. -

I hope they go back to a single use set, the last two with their combo package (Detective Office/Pool Hall/barber and Bank/Laundry) doesn't seem to do either of them justice. Sometimes getting all fancy with stories and multi combos and all that...just not the right way to go. There is a reason why they call it the KISS method. Anxious to hear about the next one as well. -
Review REVIEW: 21030 United States Capitol
Herky replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My set came incomplete, Lego did get the missing piece to me quickly but like most, my wish is that the back would have been complete. I don't think it would have taken a lot more pieces and not too much of an increased price to complete it. Just is odd... -
Not sure I like this new format, but for me, seeing Wrigley building is in Chicago Skyline, that is good news, would have enjoyed Marina as well, and maybe throw in the Buckingham Fountain and the Bean, still hard to do them all and this is a good set, sure something might be better than the red box, but let's see what it looks like. Sydney sounds really nice, so does London and the Guggenheim being better is good too, thanks for the info.
-
I recall seeing the same thing, this one with actual color on the roof like the house, etc. Likely a nice sized build. I am ok with the skylines and Guggenheim, but hope they don't stop there, we did get 3 skyline this year, the Burj, the Capitol and Buck Palace...so hopefully there is still another set or two to come out in later 2017. As for Chicago, we have Hancock and Willis that came out, would be fun to see Wrigley building and maybe they will somehow cleverly do Wrigley Field as well. As for other US skyline, SF is worth, wonder if they would ever do LA or Dallas?
-
Got my Capitol only to find it has a missing piece, one of the dark grey 2 by 8 slabs on top so it is ok to build rest of way but annoying as it seems every 5 sets I buy has a missing piece. I agree with everyone, why not just finish off the back? I would say it would add maybe $50 to the price at most and be a more complete building. Odd to have just cut it off like that.

I build them, Lego House and Billund Airport weren't too bad, got them at around $60 US, the other three, were around $150-$200 each. I would always build them personally, the boxes are just like architecture series. I like the sets, but would likely just stick to the factory builds and the moulding machine if I could get them. There are some on ebay but they are priced high. I would guess Jiaxing would be around the $150-200 range right now if only I could find one.
-
Does anyone else collect this series? I have 5 from it, but saw they added 4000025 Jiaxing Factory this year. Very expensive sets to collect. Lego House and Billund Airport being 2 of the more accessible ones at least. Here is the series info: 4000001 Moulding Machine 4000002 LOM Building 4000005 KOM Building 4000006 Kladno Factory 4000007 Ole Kirk House 4000008 Villy Thomsen Truck 4000009 HMV Factory 4000010 Lego House 4000011 Nyiregyhaza Factory 4000012 Piper Airplane 4000013 Lego Christmas 4000014 Legoland Train (tour) 4000015 LOM Building B 4000016 Billund Airport 4000018 Kladno 2015 Building 4000023 Jiaxing Factory I couldn't find any info on the missing numbers so not sure those sets were made but the factory buildings are microsets. I would like to find 01, 02, 05, 09, 15 and 23.

This set is really what I have been waiting for, after the disappointment of the last 2 modular sets, this is finally one knocking it out of the park. Great piece count, great price, this is Lego done correctly for the adult collector. It doesn't need a story, doesn't need a lot crammed into a baseplate, this is what is right. I would challenge whomever designs the next modular to follow suit. Can't wait to pick this up.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Herky replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I picked up the whole set, I did not read all the pages in this thread, but interesting that they are pairs of two (Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Buzz and Alien, etc) with the exception of Stitch and Maleficent. Anyone who has been following this thread know why that is? I did go back and see the wish lists for series 2, some good stuff, I would like Merlin and Archimedes from Sword in the Stone and Kim Possible and either Ron or Shego from that tv show. So many possibilities for future minifigures in this line.- 4,155 replies

Usually there are pics though, CM4, any leaks from your sources? Would like to see it if possible. Same with Beetle

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Herky replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree get back to the normal size of FB or PS or whatever, the smaller brick bank and DO seem out of place on the street but not all buildings are the same. I would rather go with one business and better quality all around than try to be so chaotic with laundry and bank and all that...just one business, maybe the bakery with apts above, do a good interior and exterior in the 2200-2400 range. Garage in back is a cool idea or at least a delivery door. No more kiddie stories, but I know some like them. Would also like to see a mid season build that is smaller like a park or some green space for the block, some sort of tie in that would not be as big, but add more aesthetic style to the line. -
Since we are getting closer, any pictures on this yet?

This is one of my favorite horror films, had thought I might see the original house (1959 Ennis House) but I like your little scene, very cool, there are so many rooms you can do with this one.

now to be realistic, you need to put rows upon rows of minifigs waiting to get in to see the attraction
