  1. I have been to Chicago where 66 starts and it goes through St Louis where I live now...this is more the desert part of it, iconic and you captured it. Great build and thanks for sharing.
  2. I like this one a lot, it is basically ready to be boxed and shipped, TLG needs to visit this page and work with people like yourself, this is very cool. And I just clicked on your Tokyo skyline, very nice as well, thanks for sharing these, basically perfect in my eyes.
  3. that looks great, been to Dublin and saw this building so I can say I really like the outside, did not go in but I like your interior a lot as well, great job
  4. So I know it is way, way too early to even get a rumor or anything about 2018, but a lot of people have had great ideas for modular buildings that have been delivered upon (bakery, music studio, flower shop hits with Assembly Square) but I also know others have mentioned quite a few we haven't gotten. I know folks have mentioned police station, hospital, museum similar to the Ideas one, hardware store, apartments, city park type build, etc...now I read a rumor that Assembly Square might be it...just wondered if others think this rumor is even based on any evidence or just that, hearsay. Also any other builds you can think of? I was looking at a local area to me and came up with Paint Store, Fitness gym, other food place like Italian with pizza, Shoe Store, Pharmacy - could be part of hospital, auto mechanic, and of course, church or bar, but these last two I just can't see happening although they are all over and really a part of most any landscape in any city.
  5. Rick - are you going to open up the other thread for discussion again? The one that is Modular Rumor and Discussion that you locked when this announcement came out? Thanks...
  6. Good point, and I appreciate that, but when putting in little details and my hands don't fit and I have to build it over 4 times, I get a tad frustrated as I am sure others do, like you say I build them and don't play with them so they are models for me. The only thing I do is rearrange them on my street every once in a while. I have a Spider-Man figure that my daughter and I hide and play "where's Spidey" but even that we do on rare occasions, best place to hide him is in the fire truck on the Brigade set or in the back of the limo on the Cinema set. He is not a Lego minifig though, but he blends in well.
  7. yes, still many a building to go, Post Office, Museum, Hospital, I know a couple years ago we talked bakery for first time, now its here, still need apartments, this gives us one, but more needed, a fully functional building with doorman etc...guess this part of our posts is better for the other thread, but you pointed out something I hadn't though of which was the actual building of it and big hands for small spaces. I wonder how big Jamie's hands are? Maybe he is like 5'4" and just not with big hands so he doesn't think of people over 6 foot and their bigger hands? No idea really but its a real good point. (sorry EU and others, I am not sure what these measurements would be in the metric system.)
  8. I don't have a link or a picture, but I finally realized what this modular made me think of, in Kansas City on the Plaza, in front of the Buca di Beppo you have almost this same type of square...there is a fountain in the middle surrounded by shops. It isn't the same exact building shapes, etc, but it is close enough that if you have been there and have seen it, it should remind you of that little area. It is in the middle of a block though which is one big difference. I am guessing there are other places that are similar in nature, but that is one that comes to mind for me. Still seeing new details as I looked at the pictures again.
  9. Yes, clears that up and adds a pricey set for me to look for if I want to complete the whole set, glad that is put to rest now. Seems to have been a question forever.
  10. I like it, much better than DO to me which is a bit similar, and better than bank, interesting the back shows it next to those two but none of the others, I feel it is still a bit short, but there is tons of detail to make up the piece count. Pricey but 4000 pieces make it on par with Big Ben, lots of new stuff to be excited about, great little fountain in the middle. Time to start saving
  11. right, but please don't reply to this thread, wait for the other one, just wanted Rick to know he could unlock them, not sure where he went though
  12. Rick - Feel free to delete this but you locked the other threads...Lego officially announced it on Facebook, so you can unlock the other threads https://www.facebook.com/LEGO/?fref=hovercard
  13. yep, I knew what I meant but it somehow didn't translate from brain to page, I keep waffling on saving for a bricklinked CC or trying to find one at a decent price. But then seeing the AS, guess that is how we will refer to it, at a potential of $300 or more...plus I would like to buy Big Ben, so...just grateful I can get the ones I can to be honest.
  14. Oh man, thank you, I really thought my list was incomplete, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out which one I was missing...and of course, I even looked downstairs at my street and totally missed it as I don't have CC so when I counted I had 10. So yeah, 10 without MS, 11 with, the 10th anniversary is from the sell date in 2007 to sell date 2017...which makes sense. Now to get here and let us know.
  15. ""In any case, I don't think the 10th Anniversary "announcement" proves or disproves your theory. Cafe Corner, the first modular, came out in 2007. The 10th Anniversary set will come out in 2017, 10 years later. Nothing yet about it being the 10th modular. If that set is real, it'll probably have some history info in the booklet and we'll then see if Market Street is mentioned. "" I didn't want to copy the pictures over so just the pertinent points. I agree with your statement for the most part, but an anniversary is usually held each year (of course there are exceptions) and we know each set came out 1 per year so that is my thinking of why they are excluding the Market Street. As you say it is the 10th year...and if they exclude MS then it is the 10th modular. All of this is nitpicking for sure, but just waiting til November. I hope it is Nov 1 as well and not Nov 30.
  16. We can discuss that it says 10th Anniversary Modular, so then CC, GG, TH, FB, PS, PR, PC, BB, DO are the true modular items according to TLG and Market Street is NOT considered one in the street...interesting, but makes sense as it was really the first fan Ideas construct. Not sure I will ever get the CC due to price, but happy the rest of them sit on my street. Or there is always speculation on 2018 and beyond...lots of things to fill in before November.
  17. I am guessing there are several who will MOD it to fit into the street. Some will buy 2 just so they can have one stand alone and one to MOD. It's all good, it still means two large buildings was basically my point. I am guessing that TLG will MOD the original design to be more modular in the build, but do not think they will MOD it to fit into the street with the black pegs to attach. It will be a stand alone similar to HH. However, I am not sure why there is even a discussion about that part, the key to me is just to be excited that there are going to be 2 large buildings to build in 2017 and spaced enough apart my budget will handle it. I am expecting a $300 price, might be more, on Assembly and the normal $150 price on Fishing. Call them Modular or don't, to me that is the best news for all of us who have wanted 2 in a year.
  18. Yes, thanks for the interpretation, and yes stand alone, but likely easily modified to fit in if you wanted, I know some mod'd the haunted house to fit in and some changed it completely to just look like a normal building and added it in to the "street". It might be a stand alone modular, and I will likely keep it that way but I am really just collecting the modular line and architecture line anymore so that is a boon to me. Now if they announce the 2017 modular confirming our rumors that would be great.
  19. With the Lego Ideas announcement today, it feels like Christmas since we will essentially be getting two Modular buildings in 2017, hope they do justice to the idea picked.
  20. Right, please don't, Lepin is NOT Lego
  21. Actually 1/4/17 to Americans is January 4, 2017 so that is what we saw right away, but don't Europeans use the . instead of the /? So 1.4.17? Maybe that is just business stuff I have seen. I will maintain that if Jan 1 is a Sunday, that doesn't matter to TLG, have been to stores many times on Sunday when the date is the 1st and the new sets were there.
  22. good enough for me, although I can't imagine it being the Assembly Square in Boston as pictured above.
  23. Didn't someone say that Jamie and team had the modular line all picked out for the next few years, this would have been a while back, but it makes sense. They would likely need to know almost a year ahead what the next one is internally to the Creator team and then once that is totally firmed up, they would start on the next one. I have a friend who works for Hallmark and he told me they usually have 2 years worth of the ornaments in their queue at any one time. Now granted there are a lot of those little ornaments but it seems comparable that TLG would want to have this one in the bag already and in line to production soon so if the sell date is Jan 1 or even Jan 4 (which would be weird, they sell on Sundays on other 1st days of month) they are now making the sets to ensure there are enough around the world for customers. If you need to ship, you have to plan. Most stuff in US that is shipped from China need a 3 month lead time. So, my conjecture is if they do have these plotted out, that is why you don't see the brick bank in the picture. This could be months old and before BB, so they used this picture as it was done a year ahead. Then again, I could be all wrong and it is fake. Will be interesting to see what the next month or so brings in the news and if it leaks prior to then. As folks have said, it is in brickset, wonder if anyone there can confirm where they got their info...
  24. I almost hate to type this, but remember it is just a rumor at this point. It looks official, but who knows. Not sure is anyone can really state that this is it 100%. Things are odd, like the RRP price, the release date - most new sets hit the 1st day of the month, plus this was a page from a community is what it said, yet no one knows anything about that community or what it is. It isn't like someone couldn't have just created it. The upper left tab at the top of the screen says Handshake of LEG...not sure if that helps to find this by others other than the Reddit screen shot. Given that, I do hope it is true though.
  25. agree, almost seems too good to be true, and when it says square, I think of the old time squares where the band played in the middle of the park, with some statues and a rotunda type open sided structure, agree with you that the buildings would not fit around it correctly unless there were more...might be across a few baseplates so you have two modular on each long side, then the corners then one modular on the narrower side...but you would need 10 modular to do that and we are one short unless the square also has a modular with it.
