Tower Crane Mk II
Bricktrain replied to KirTech LAB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great build. Interesting idea telescoping the tower, many advantages over a jacking frame. Nice use of both studded and studdless beams. -
LDD MOC: Club Car for the 7938 Passenger Train

Looks good. I am doing one for the Sante Fe but am also having some hic-ups with the sunroof. -
I am thinking of buying a second set for parts, I want a second 9398 to build the B model but this is $50 cheaper so may keep the rare body parts and build the race truck body from parts to fit on the chassis

New 8 tooth gear!
Bricktrain replied to JohannesESTONIA's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It doesnt seem to be added to Bricklink yet but there is one seller (NL) who appears to have parted out 42009 already as I have just ordered some of the new panels from him. You could try asking him if he has them available. http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=paulvdb -
I also would have liked 8053, I didnt see it in any stores here either but did look at it on S@H, then it was $199NZ but would have been $80NZ shipping also. 8263 was another that I couldnt find and have had to build from parts. I will probably build 8053 from parts soon to complete my mobile crane collection, though the B model I think I like better so may have to build both.

Actually it is a bit confusing, the packages have a NZPost DHL label on them, the packing slip has Billund contact numbers but the returns form has an Australia return address. I suspect they may come from Europe in bulk packages then reshipped in NZ.

My orders always take 4-5 days processing before being shipped, then after another 4-5 days show on tracking as arriving in destination country, then about 3-4 days later I receive them

42000 hubs
Bricktrain replied to Rishab N's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On Bricklink it would be cheaper to buy the 8070 style http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=x873c01&colorID=11 than the 4200 style http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=11949&colorID=86 as you must also buy the stub axle http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=92909&colorID=85 to go with it. Shipping from Germany is quite cheap. -
My orders always take about 4-5 days before they go to shipped on the Lego site and I get the email, then about 5 days before they arrive in destination country by the tracking, another 3-4 days for delivery.

I will probably build an orange coloured body and a standard height chassis to look like the General Lee, it was one of my favorites when gowing up in the 70s

NZ orders I believe are shipped from Denmark going by the shipping labels on the packages. Yes surprising it is so much cheaper than the crawler, also the crane was much less than expected.

I have the same with the 42008 and 42009 I ordered first thing this morning, yet the 41999 I ordered about two hrs later is showing there, both amounts have been authorised by my bank though, I did email Lego about 1/2 hr ago so they can check it out, may be their website was a little busy this morning.
-
The bank does charge an overseas exchange fee for the money transaction but that is very small compared to the import cost and duties.
-
NZ is the same, shipped from Denmark, but by being sold in NZ, on a NZ website, we dont have to pay import duties, the seller is responsible for them.
-
I havent yet received mine for either purchase I made today, first was over 2hrs ago, but the money has gone from my bank acct. Just came in for 41999, still none for 42008, 42009 though
-
Today (1st Aug )the 42008 and 42009 are on S@H for NZ but no 41999. Already some posting in Bricklink that they bought the 4 a store in the US had on the shelves.

Congratulations JopieK, our new Train Regulator!
Bricktrain replied to Fugazi's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Congratulations JopieK. To be honest I hadnt really noticed the disappearance of The Brickster until I read this, though I havent been spending as much time in this forum as others have also mentioned, but it has made me realise I could add a few things myself to help keep the interest alive so hope to post a topic soon with a few of my projects.- 29 replies

Looks good, I have put mine on a 32x32 baseplate and added ten studs to each side, which leaves 6 studs more room on the frontage for displaying bikes outside. I havent yet done the stairs as I am waiting on BL orders for the floor tiles. I am thinking I need a lift as well rather than riding the bikes up the stairs.
