Best sets for spare parts
Bricktrain replied to peddi0027's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I check out the toy stores sales and usually try to get larger sets when they are on sale, some are better value for money, brickset has cost per part on each set which is also useful as a rough guide. -
I am currently using them on the hubs from 8297, which are the same as 8466 except for the colour. I intended to use the mog hubs for my All terrain crane but they didnt work too well so went back to the older steering hubs. I ended up building a Rough terrain crane with the portal hubs with beam axles.

1h 2012 models
Bricktrain replied to JunkstyleGio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
that would depend on how much longer they made them, I would like some 30 studs long compressed, 55 extended, then they can put BT on them -

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Bricktrain replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Anyone interested in a built once for display Grand Emporium, Fire brigade or Emerald Night, pm me with an offer, otherwise they will most likely get parted out into my store. Sticker sheets are intact, not afixed, boxes have been flattened for storage, instructions in good order. Cheers. -

I missed out on 600 because the seller is too far behind and I am already waiting over a month for 3 orders from them. I have about 50 spare on the way but will still get more, my hangar building uses 476 in white, I know I have several hundred but arent about to count them to see if I have enough. I am mostly using Dark bley 8x16 tiles for the floor, that was the most economical way for me. -

When toyworld are having a sale I call them and buy what I want with my credit card and can either have it shipped to me or they hold it until I go to the city. I dont see why they wouldnt send it to you over there, the store I would suggest as most likely to do so would be Toyworld Shirley, Chch, Ian was always most helpfull when I dealt with him. Also try Trademe, some sellers on there can do Cc, I made a sale to an Aus buyer this week but I used Paypal for his credit card. -

Credit card? I have now added bank transfer and NZ$ options on my store. I was a bit annoyed that I left those 2x2 D Bley tiles in my store as I discovered last night my personal collection was almost nil (now is) so I am just ordering bulk of them for a stock in my store as well, might take a week to arrive though. -

I seem to remember a Jack Stone series model with something of a bull bar style on the front. Great looking model, though experience should have told them to take two spare wheels -

Hi Nick, just place the order and add a message asking to pay by bank transfer. I used to have it listed as an option but even overseas buyer would select it and it just made things difficult. Paypal makes it easier for me to spend, or rather to pay for what I have bought as I always seem to be buying lately. Cheers Paul. -

12000 new parts added to my store today, I can do bank transfer but prefer paypal if possible, mostly Technic but a few exclusives, 10197 fire station, 10199, 10187. Cheers. -
8421 XS (extra-small)
Bricktrain replied to Countdown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for resizing the pics, it was taking too long to load due to the size. Looks good nice and compact. Very hard to build in small sizes, like I was asked if I had experience in driving a small excavator, as the employer says anyone can drive a big one, if you can make it work in small projects then big ones will be easy. -

Unfortunately due to low feedback you may find some sellers will want payment before pulling the order, however that is not how bricklink is supposed to work and I now reply to invoices that I will pay when the order is marked ready, as it doesnt show on your my BL page as awaiting payment until that status is set. Of course you have no way of checking that the order is actually ready but hopefully the seller is honest enough to correctly set the status and since you have made another contact with them are probably a bit more at ease than expecting you to be another NPB non paying buyer. After 7 days you may stsrt an NSS, non shipping seller, but may be worth contacting the store again, let them know you are moving and ask them if they can ship your order or would they prefer to cancel.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Bricktrain replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
it wont be available again till later in the year for stores so if you can wait a while it should turn up. I ended up building both models from my parts, I only needed to spend about $20 on bricklink to finish them both, though it means I dont have the new modified linear actuators. -

Bricklink Trusted Sellers list
Bricktrain replied to Dragonator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well they must be giving out lots of coupons then because their service lately is shocking, store terms say 3-6 day delays on large orders, my small order has been nearly 3 weeks to pack and ship. -
technik wheels and tyres
Bricktrain replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
if you look at the wheel that it is part of, Wheel 60 x 34, with Black Tire 60 x 34 Balloon Offset Tread it is a two part rim and this ring joins the two parts together, so I would guess at it being hard plastic.
