  1. As I mentioned on flickr, this is a beautiful ship on it's own and the fact that you took an existing microscale ship and expanded it into glorious minifig scale makes it even more impressive! Here's the microscale version I posted a few months ago, if anyone wants to see what an amazing job he did translating it into minifig scale:
  2. Great scene! You did a really nice job adding texture and detail to the walls (something that builders often overlook) and I really like the action shot of Viqia shooting through the doorway.
  3. Nice little scene - the fender works well as a pipe, and the brick wall elements add some nice texture. I'm not sure how your character survived with no helmet / air supply, but I'd recommend reporting to sick bay immediately after you return to the Avenger
  4. First off, that video was awesome! As usual, great photography and your comic-book style really helps with the story telling. I love the microscale skyhook, and the combination of the micro and minifig scale elements in the EVA scene worked well.
  5. Bregir - it was great to have you join us for our first EB RPG collaboration! No worries about the entry time - there are a few islands in the Pacific in the UTC-12 timezone, so you had several hours to spare
  6. Coruscant. Sub-level 19. Pump station FK-523b. An osik place for guard duty. The pair of Black Sun goons with hand torches shine them nervously back and forth, trying to push back as much of the darkness as possible. They know someone’s coming for them. They’re expecting rebels, maybe pathfinders, so they’ve got full coverage of the two service walkways leading up to the pump station. They can almost be forgiven for overlooking the discharge pipe which empties out 12 meters above them. Especially considering that the pipe’s next closest opening is six kilometers away. That’s right, six kriffing kilometers through a pipe almost, but not quite, big enough to stand upright in, knee deep in osik all the way. Arjun's operating our probe remotely. He's had it hugging one of the hot water pipes, to make sure it doesn’t get picked up by the guards’ thermal sights. I project its display onto my helmet’s HUD to make sure the targets haven’t moved too far, check my rappelling line one last time, and signal to Kom’rk that I’m ready. Maze drops a stun-grenade down the hole and, for the Black Sun guards below, the darkest night becomes blindingly bright and the sound of rushing sewage is drowned out by an incredibly loud explosion. Note: the remaining images have been light-enhanced for clarity. One one-thousand. As soon as I hear the explosion I drop, firing straight down. Somewhere behind me, the heavy gunner blindly opens fire. Two one-thousand. I've rhapsodized before about the beauty of stun grenades. The rodian and the nikto are going to be blind and deaf for at least a few more seconds, but the gunner’s NVGs should recover pretty fast. My feet hit the walkway as the heavy gunner tries to bring his weapon to bear. Three one-thousand. Even though I’m expecting the second stun-grenade, there’s still a moment of fear when my vision whites out completely. Keeping a firm grip on the rail, I make my way toward the ladder as my teammates drop down like avenging angels of death. A burst from Kom’rk’s Deece-17 takes care of the heavy gunner and his assistant, and Maze’s slug-thrower … well, it’s extremely effective at close range. My optics reset in the few seconds it takes my teammates to descend, and I stop the rodian’s panicked flight with a quick burst of weaponized light. “Arjun, where’d the lizard go?” "Moving the probe - stand by." I'm already starting up the ladder. The service entrance to Xizor's palace is just half a klick further - plenty of places for the missing trandoshan to hide in the dark, but the dark is my ally too. The lizard's already dead, it just doesn't know it yet. Kom'rk puts out the comm call. "Shadow 2-1 to Shadow Actual. Pump station has been neutralized, proceeding into the palace." "Solid copy 2-1. Good hunting."
  7. Awesome - just saw this thread and was about to comment that I'd love an extension Thanks MkJoshA!
  8. Hey everyone - we still have one full week left of the contest, so it's not too late to get a build together! If anyone is interested, just let me know (or sign up in the Black Sun thread). Thanks!
  9. Hey Professor - glad to have you on the team!
  10. Hey INDYl, I've added you to the Black Sun PM. Also, Cody is correct, you choose just one of the three locations for your MOC. According to the EU lore, it is assumed that Xizor dies when his skyhook is destroyed.
  11. @mediumsnowman - I like it, although I feel like the guy with the horrifying skeleton face should trade bodies with the guy in the middle. Also, I've requested that someone with a higher rank start the PM, so it should be up soon!
  12. @Evolved Turtle - yes, microscale builds are allowed. Also, you've almost got your signature right, but the image tag is still a little off; try this : Edit - nevermind you got it - nice work
  13. So - wanna join Black Sun, eh? Ya probably heard some stories 'bout big, bad, Black Sun gangsters - lotsa stories, most true. Especially ones 'bout what happens to folk who cross us.. S'ok though; if you a hard worker - know how to keep mouth shut, an' don't mind gettin' hands dirty, we gotta place for you ... Building for Black Sun For our 15th Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka (SoNE) episode, we're inviting members of other Eurobricks RPGs (and any other folks who are interested) to build on behalf of Black Sun. This thread will serve as a sign-up thread for anyone who is interested, as well as providing some background information about Black Sun and the SoNE game. For more information about SoNE, check out the introduction thread here. About Black Sun Black Sun is a powerful, galaxy-spanning crime syndicate led by the ruthless and cunning Prince Xizor. To quote Wookieepedia, "[Black Sun] was involved in every known type of illegal activity; its information networks surpassed even the accuracy and scope of Imperial Intelligence. The resources available to Black Sun rivaled those belonging to a large planetary army, including foot soldiers." Not everyone who works for Black Sun is a villain (although plenty of them are); other are simply mercenaries and soldiers of fortune, looking to make a living on the fringes of the galaxy. Still others, working for one of Black Sun's many "legitimate" business fronts, aren't aware of who their true bosses are. Minifigs / character design Black Sun doesn't have uniforms or a dress code, so builders have a lot of leeway when it comes to choosing their minifigure(s). Just to give you some ideas, here are a few "crowd shots" from earlier SoNE entries: Builders can use either 'yellow' or 'fleshie' heads for their characters. Story Timeline/Background Our Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka RPG takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, with episodes loosely following events/plot points from the Shadows of the Empire book / game. This particular episode parallels the last few levels of the Shadows of the Empire video game. Black Sun builders are free to show their characters fighting either Imperial or Rebel forces, or just patrolling / searching for intruders if they don't feel like building a battle scene. Signing up If you'd like to build for Black Sun, reply to this thread and you'll be added to the Black Sun PM (as soon as it's launched). Make sure you also read the Episode XV topic for contest rules and objectives, and if you have any questions feel free to ask!
  14. @Evolved Turtle - welcome to the Empire! I think your signature is missing the closing image tag - try adding [/img] right before [/url] in your signature; it should make the pic display properly.
  15. I really like your back story - it seems well thought-out and plausible. Great build as well - my favorite part is the slightly rickety looking walkway supports. The crystal/blaster effect on the stormtrooper's chest is a nice effect too. My only feedback (since you asked for CC) would be to tweak the minifig poses a little more. The rebel trooper on top of the walkway seems a bit too casual, for being in such a close quarters fight, and the way the stormtroopers blaster fell doesn't make much sense unless he was holding it by the barrel when he was hit. Also, I'd turn the Rodian slightly so that it's facing the oncoming stormtrooper. These are just minor things, though - this is an excellent build overall, and I'm glad you'll be building with us in SoNE!
  16. Yes, Cody and Merc4Hire are correct - the Skyhook is a fancy space station/battle station. You can view videos of the space battle from the Shadows of the Empire game to get an idea of what it looked like. Xizor (and the whole Shadows of the Empire story) will always be a part of my heart canon You're free to build in whichever sector you want - pilots can build in the Sewers or Palace, and non-pilots could show their character in the interior of the skyhook, or as a passenger on a ship during the space battle. Basically, if you can make it work with your story it's fine with us.
  17. ...and I shall be most displeased if he escapes. Understood, my Lord. General Brickdoctor, I never thought I'd say this, but order your troops not to engage rebel forces, if at all possible. And if the rebels fire first? I won't order your troops not to defend themselves, but if Skywalker is killed ... we'll have to answer to Vader himself. Ma'am, we just got word that one of our Pathfinder units encountered Storm Commandos in the sewers. How many casualties? None - apparently the Commandos ignored them, killed a large group of Black Sun mercs, then moved on. If the Imps want to make our jobs easier by taking out Black Sun troops, I don't see any reason to stop them. I agree, but we must be cautious. There may be some larger plot at work here... Sir, we've lost contact with some of the guards on the lower levels. And ... Vader's flagship just entered the system. They dare to strike at me here? Kill them. All of them. For our 15th SoNE Episode, we've invited members of other Eurobricks RPG's, as well as any other Eurobricks members who are interested, to build on behalf of Black Sun. Regular SoNE players will build for their usual faction (Rebellion or Empire). This will be a showdown with the Rebellion and Empire on one side, and Black Sun on the other. Update: the Black Sun sign-up thread is here. Battling through Xizor's Palace The battle for Xizor's Palace will take place in three different locations; entries MUST feature details that represent one specific location, and each faction must post at least one build in each location. The Sewers Imperial and Rebel builders must show their sigfig sneaking through the sewers of Coruscant to infiltrate Xizor's palace Black Sun builders must show Black Sun gangsters protecting the entrance to the palace Xizor's Palace Rebel builders must show their sigfig fighting through the palace to rescue Leia Imperial builders must show their sigfig fighting through the palace to capture Xizor Black Sun builders must show Black Sun gangsters fighting off the intruders Xizor's Skyhook Builders must show a chaotic space battle as Imperial, Rebel, and Black Sun forces fight around the skyhook At the end of the episode, factions will gain 1 Location Point (LP) for each entry in a specific location, with the exception of the highest scored entry in each location, which will receive 4 LPs. The faction with the most LP's in a given location takes control of that location, and the faction that controls the most locations wins the episode. Example: At the end of the episode, 3 Rebel, 2 Imperial and 3 Black Sun builders have posted entries that take place in The Sewers. That would give us the following: Rebels: 3 LPs for The Sewers Empire: 2 LPs for The Sewers Black Sun: 3 LPs for The Sewers When the builds are judged, one of the Black Sun builds earns more XP than any of the other builds which take place in The Sewers. Therefore, the Black Sun entry is worth 4 LPs instead of 1. That gives Black Sun 6 LPs for The Sewers, versus the 5 combined Empire/Rebel LPs, so Black Sun takes control of The Sewers. If there is a tie, the second highest scoring entry in each location will earn an additional LP. XP points will be earned independently from the points you score for your faction (you can score 1 LP for your team and still earn 9 XP at the end of the episode). The Rules: Portray your character completing their mission in ONE of the three locations (Sewers, Palace or Skyhook). The mission goals listed above are just suggestions, but your mission should make sense for your character's faction and role. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Nar Eurbrikka subforum, the title prefixed by, "[SoNE Ep. XV]" and the Location depicted (For example, "[SoNE Ep. XV] Sewers - Slumming It Home") The appropriateness, accuracy, and creativity involved in your interpretation of the identified location will weigh heavily in the points you are rewarded. All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation or the rules above. There are no restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds, as long as they follow the above described goals. The Episode will run from April 20th to June 3rd. As long as it is still June 3rd somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. Entries will be judged according to the Core Rules: Your build will be scored in two stages, to make it easier on the judges by lessening the number of builds that must be scored in greater detail: In the first stage, the judges will award a score from 1-10, with a '1' being "Minifig on a Plate", a '5' being "Your Average MOC" and a '10' being "Flawless Concept and Execution". In the second stage, the top five builds of each faction from the first stage will be scored based on basic predetermined criteria: up to 10 points for the concept and appropriateness to the objective, up to 25 points for your execution of the build, and up to 5 points for your presentation of the entry. If we don't have more than 10 players per team, only the top 3 entries will move on to the second round of judging. For builders who make it to the second stage, their second stage total is added to their first stage points, and that total is divided by two and a half. You can earn a maximum of 20 points in each episode. The amount of points you earn is also the amount of XP your character earns. This episode/contest is open to all players of Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win XP or prizes; the EB admins and moderators, who are not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP; and the episode host, who is not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the episode. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Post pictures no larger than 1024x768, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited,. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. The Prizes: All the players on the winning faction will receive this tag (actual tag subject to change) to commemorate their victory. You can only have one of these tags or one of the Community Build tags at a time, but a log will be kept of all the tags you've earned in your profile in the Player Index. If Imperial and Rebel forces win, they will share control of Coruscant (for freebuilds), and each side may choose one unclaimed planet to seize from Black Sun. If Black Sun wins, each faction will lose control of two randomly selected planets. You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges.
  18. This is a great first build for SoNE! You do a really good job with your minifig posing, and the outpost has a very Imperial feel to it. Nice work!
  19. Just received my F-Manatee prize - just the one I was hoping for! Thanks CopMike!
  20. Welcome @Gubi0222 - the Empire is always looking for loyal soldiers to stand against the chaos and lawlessness of the rebellion! We'll be launching a new episode fairly soon - in the meantime, feel free to have a look around the forums and, if you like, you can post a small freebuild introducing your character and/or their backstory.
  21. Calling all builders - do you want to try your hand at a Star Wars MOC, without the commitment of signing up for another Eurobricks RPG? Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka is looking for builders to help us out with an upcoming episode. The episode should launch in the next week or two, and players will have 4-6 weeks to finish their builds. The game takes place in the 'Original Trilogy' timeframe, between 'Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi'. Let me know if you're interested, and we'll give you all the details in a PM. GoH mods - if there's a better place / way to post this so that GoH players can see it, please feel free to move / change. Thank you!

  24. Thanks Mesabi! Thanks Medium - it was good to have a deadline to force me to tie up (most) of the loose ends in Lu's story Thanks Kodan! It made me really happy seeing so many Octan (and other) players use CLAPPIE in their builds - and I wouldn't be surprised if CLAPPIE 2.0 shows up in AG2 Thanks @Bob De Quatre - and thank you for all the hard work you've put in these past two years. AG was awesome, and it let me explore a lot of building styles and environments that I hadn't tried before. Looking forward to AG2!
