  1. I love the rounded windows / doorway, and you did a great job balancing the scene (the red awning/woman on the right & the shop roof on the left).
  2. Another wonderfully written story, and clean, crisp photos - nice work!
  3. I agree with Tariq - the 'dawn' light looks great, and I love the little peek at the water through the window. The blue 1x2 grilles work well as banners/decorations. I feel like the black floor doesn't quite go with the rest of the Naboo architecture. I assume it's meant to be a cargo hanger type area, but I think the black is still a little out of place. That's just a small criticism, though - nice job overall.
  4. Beautiful build - great job capturing the 'Cloud City' vibe. I really like the wall textures, and your use of the new tooth pieces. My only suggestion next time would be to add a little bit of color in just a few spots, to break up the white. Even something like dark red or gold on the little table would be a nice highlight. Excellent build overall, though!
  5. Kuat – gateway to the Core Worlds, home of the famous Kuat Drive Yards, and a good system to disappear in, provided you keep a low profile and don't try to get too close to Kuat proper. When most people think of Kuat, they picture the Drive Yards themselves, ringing the planet, but there are literally thousands of spaceborn ship construction platforms littering the Kuat system, producing everything from hypermatter reactors to refreshers. Of those thousands of platforms, there are probably one or two hundred which are empty, derelict or abandoned at any given time. One of these isolated, empty platforms has been my home the last few days. This one isn't actually abandoned; it's just been shut down between production runs. Nobody here but me and the loading droids. I've been working for the past few hours, trying to get one of the droids to link its manual control unit with my datapad. I've almost got it. There we go. I don't have a user login, but I do have a security spike which gives me access to the system framework. Let's see, 'autopilot: disabled,' 'speed inhibitor: disabled,' 'collision avoidance:' … definitely disabled. Better hurry, not much time left. I wont be alone for long. There's an Imperial officer on the way. A major in the Supply Corps. He has a meeting set up with a Black Sun arms dealer. The same dealer he's met with monthly for almost a year. The major's getting a nice payday, diverting a few crates of weapons each month. He's also stupid and sloppy - ISB was onto him almost immediately, but they'd been content to hide trackers in the crates and use them to help map out Black Sun's network. Today, though, he won't be meeting with his usual dealer. Said dealer is dead, if he's lucky. The Empire's finally decided to start rolling up Black Sun's operations, and they're hitting everyone at once. The shuttle drops off the major, his bodyguards and the weapons in the main hanger. From there, they'll move the crates to one of the auxiliary hangers in back of the station. The shuttle is supposed to return in an hour to pick them back up, but in about 10 minutes that shuttle is going to be a cloud of glowing debris, or so I've been told. The weapons don't look like much, but those are proton-bombs and disruptors - unpleasant, and expensive. I'd normally feel guilty about killing troopers - they're just grunts like me - but these guys knew what they were signing up for. Ok, full speed, full power. I only get one shot at this. Ah, good. Something new for my nightmares. This is Tango Bravo to control. It's done.
  6. In our defense, we do have a lot of hills ...
  7. Hey all - this is officially my 500th post! I wanted to post it here, as it's the SoNE community that's really drawn me into Eurobricks, and gotten me back into building MOCs these last few years. A huge thanks to all the judges and mods who keep the game going, and to all the awesome players who continue to come up with amazing builds and stories. Special thanks to: @BEAVeR - your thoughtful and detailed comments on my early builds really helped me hone my skills, and were a great encouragement to keep trying new things. @goatman461 - having a 'nemesis' for my character has helped me to expand and flesh out his story, and it's been really great collaborating with you on stories and builds. Finally, thanks(ish) to Disney for ensuring that we'll have new Star Wars stories to explore for many, many years to come...
  8. Wonderful wall (it looks like it took a long time); is it made of stacked jumper plates? Digging the weathering on the ship, and nice callback to your older builds with Rom.
  9. Fantastic build and story! You do a great job setting up your shots to give the whole thing a very cinematic feel. What program do you use for the visual/lighting effects?
  10. Hey TTrooper - thanks for your patience, discussions can take a little while as we're located in different countries / time zones. The judges have come to the following consensus: Because the custom parts do violate the rules, your entry will be scored based only on the last picture (the one without minifigs) As far as Episode XIII mission objectives, your build will still count as having met the Rebellion's goal to build on Ord Mantell. As for the reasoning behind the rule, this is a LEGO-based forum so we want to stay loyal to that medium as much as possible. We do allow for customization of sigfigs so that folks can create an especially unique main character, but the general rule (for the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka game) is no 3rd party items. Taking off my GameMaster hat... This is a great build - you've got wonderful texture with the wall and ground, and I really like the little drainage pipe. I always appreciate builders who take the time to add a good story to go with their creation - I'm interested to see how your character progresses, and whether his 'spacing out' during battle is related to a larger issue, or is something that he'll have to deal with in the future. My only suggestion would be to split your text into multiple paragraphs - that just tends to be easier to read vs one big chunk of text. Glad to have you building for SoNE, and I hope to see more great builds from you in the future!
  11. Welcome to Eurobricks! That's a fantastic cottage - I love all the little details you've added, like the tools and the stepping stones. I mainly build in the Star Wars forums, but I think you'll find Eurobricks to be a great place to get constructive feedback and ideas.
  12. Great scene! I think you've perfectly captured the Tatooine vibe - I really like the amount of texture you've included in the building walls, and the awning on the side is simple but works really well.
  13. This is awesome - I really like the 4-armed elves guy and his pole/totem. NPU using the turntable tops as stepping stones too.
  14. Thanks! Thank you! I've been wanting to use those parts for an explosion since I picked up the 'Infernox captures the Queen' a few months ago. Thanks Cody! It's been a lot of fun collaborating with Goatman, and the story telling aspect has been one of my favorite parts of SoNE these past few years, so I'm glad folks are liking it!
  15. The X-wing turned out really well - colors look great, and I really like the greebling on the laser cannons. AT-ST is awesome too - it has a menacing feel, which a lot of other AT-ST models lack, and the touch of dark red is nice.
  16. Yeah, it's weird- it hasn't been doing it every time, just sort of randomly. Earlier today, it worked for the first 3 pictures I added, and then stopped working after that, so I don't know what's going on
  17. I like the new look, and really appreciate all the work that goes into this site behind the scenes! I have run into an issue a few times when trying to add images to a new topic: I'll click the 'insert image from URL' button and paste the URL from flickr, but when I click the 'insert into post' button nothing happens. I've gotten around it by either posting and then editing to add the pictures, or canceling the post and trying again. I'm using the Chrome browser if that makes any difference.
  18. I've been a fan of the Imperial Assault Carrier since it first appeared in 'Rebels,' so I was very excited to receive a copy of 75106 as a prize for the EB Anthology Contest (Thanks again TLG!). I wanted to MOD the front windscreen to look more 'in-scale,' but once I started changing things I ended up rebuilding most of the ship (hence the MOC/MOD in the title). I don't care about 'play features,' so I rebuilt the TIE launch tubes to be more screen accurate. I also rebuilt the top so that it's no longer removable. I used some old-style hinge plates to mirror the engines on the bottom of the wings. You can view a few more pics, as well as some of the pics I used as reference, on my flickr. You can also see the Gozanti in action in my Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka freebuild. Thanks for viewing! C & C always welcomed.
  19. For the better part of a year, I've been chasing a ghost. Always two steps behind former ISB agent Goatm An, arriving just after he's departed, sometimes close enough that there's still warmth in the bodies he's left behind. I'm getting better though. Closer. It's getting easier and easier to put myself in Goatm's head. This should probably worry me more than it does. I'm in the Commenor system now. After weeks of laying low, the bounty hunter who alerted us to Goatm's presence on Naboo registered to collect a bounty here. I have a feeling Goatm wont be far behind him. I used my ISB credentials to commandeer a ship and pilot. It's a system patrol vessel – basically a modified TIE boarding craft. It's smaller and less armed than I'd prefer, but it's perfect for keeping a low profile. There are about a dozen of these ships weaving through Commenor's busy space lanes at any given time. I'm in a jump seat behind the pilot, with strict orders not to touch anything. Pilot: Sir, I believe our target ship has just entered the system. Lucas: Good, let's see if he picks up any company. The ship belongs to a clawdite bounty hunter named Zaz Sikari. As a 'known operator,' he's given quick clearance to proceed to his landing zone on the night side of the planet, and as he leaves the lines of cargo ships behind, it becomes clear that he's no longer alone. Lucas: Bring us up behind that x-wing and get his ID. Pilot: Roger. X-wing fighter, this is Commenor system patrol. Transmit your ID and state your business. X-wing Pilot: Copy Commenor patrol. This is Sector Ranger Ky Prax, heading in to refuel and rearm. Sending credentials now. The credentials and clearance codes check out, and the pilot image that appears on my screen looks like a sector ranger, but I know that voice. How could I not? How many hours have I spent listening to intercepted transmissions and comms? Lucas: Bring us to firing range. Tell him you want to do a visual flyover. Pilot: Thank you Mr Prax. Due to your … unusual choice of craft, we're going to do a quick visual inspection. Maintain your current speed and heading. X-wing Pilot: Understood. Standing by. Pilot: Sir, he's in range. Shall I engage? My orders are clear. Kill Agent Goam An. This is the second time I've had him in my sights. Why am I hesitating? Is it because he's a fellow Imperial? Pilot: Sir? Is it because the more I study his dossier, the more similarities I see between us? Lucas: Ion cannons only. Fire to disable. Pilot: Whoa, what the hell?! Cruiser, cease fire, we are friendlies - Her voice is cut off by an earsplitting squeal; they're jamming our comms. It's an ISB ship - they must have been waiting just outside the system. Lucas: Stay close to the cruiser, it'll make us harder to hit. Pilot: Yeah, no sh*t. What the hell have you gotten me into? If I lose my flight status over this, I'm going to stick my boot so far up - Lucas: It's not my fault! Pilot: Dammit, that interceptor's right on my tail! This is the first time I've had a good look at a space battle. Usually, I'm either in a windowless troop transport or mustered at a damage control station. In a fight on the ground, blaster bolts seem to sizzle with malevolent energy. Up here, they pass us silently, seemingly harmless. The illusion lasts right up to the moment when the interceptor scores a lucky hit, and we're slammed sideways through space with a jolt that knocks the wind out of me. Pilot: Hey, dead weight – get on your console and plot us a course to Kaut. We should blend in there. Lucas: This thing has a hyperdrive? Pilot: Yes! It's so we can make micro jumps in system. Damn, that x-wing is coming around behind us – hurry it up! Red laser beams lance past our ship from behind. Lucas: Alright, got it! The last thing I see before the stars turn to streaks is the remaining interceptor scoring a hit on Goatm's X-wing. I can't tell how bad it is, but we have a saying on my home planet: a man destined to hang doesn't fear drowning. I don't think Goatm's going to die in space.
  20. This is great! I've been slowly trying to catch up on people's AG stories. I really like the dialogue and character interactions in this one, especially the last conversation between Dr. Long and the mother. I also like the Octan colored pillow and blanket in Eleven's room. Can't wait to see where you take this story next!
  21. LOL - I missed this earlier... I think you're also allowed a permutation of your name, so you could be 'T.T. Rooper' or something like that. Either way, welcome to SoNE!
  22. Great scene - very nice color blocking, and I like the conflict with Kale / needing to get paid - that seems realistic.
  23. This is a beautiful model, and after trying to recreate it I can attest to how tricky and intricate a build it is. You did a great job with both the look and the functionality, especially considering the build constraints. One minor complaint - the rubber band should have been on the parts list
  24. First off, congrats to Jannick and Goatman for having the highest scored rebel and Imperial builds! Both teams had a lot of great entries, and it was (mostly) fun inspecting the rebel builds, trying to figure out which was the secret part. Thanks to the mods, especially Beaver, for putting this contest together. Thanks also to Goatman for putting together the parts spreadsheets that made guessing and keeping track of parts much easier. Here's some more info about the guessing / building process: And here are some pictures of the completed model:
  25. That's a nice looking little boat! I like the amount of detail you've managed to add without making it seem too cluttered. I think you'll get more replies if you can have your pictures show up in the post - I'm still figuring out the updated forum, but if you click the "insert other media" button in the bottom right of the posting window and then paste the imgur link into it, your picture should show up: Edit: just realized all pictures links are temporarily broken due to the upgrade
