Disney may not have ruined those characters, but they did ruin most of these set, at least I think their choice for sets was pretty bad.

I was referring to Marvel, DC has done a good job with their female figures That's true, but still only 3 have been/ will be released in sets. Jean Grey/Phoenix and Spiderwoman were SDCC exclusives, and the other 3 have only appeared in the larger sets, and Black Widow will no longer be available come January. I just feel 5 is too small a number, and to have 2 exclusives, in reality the general public was only given access to about 3. Whereas DC has 6, Marvel seems to be doing way better than DC right now in terms of diversity, so the fact that they could only make 3 girls for anyone to buy, and all came in their years respective flagship sets (though MJ is debatable) is quite sad really.

Woah, didn't notice that either. I'd say it got overcrowded by other themes. I never even noticed them when I went shopping!

At this point, I think I'd go crazy if Lego decided to make another Black Widow, at this point, we only got 4 females, and 2 of which were exclusive to SDCC. So if TLG/Marvel decided to put another female in a set, I'd be glad. But another Black Widow? It is way too early in the theme to be re-using characters/ sets. That's why the constant Batman/Spiderman is so disappointing.

Thanks for that just2good! Now this new theme, if it is referencing Dinsey Princess's 2014, then what is to be said of Castle 2014? Or did Disney put the red light on a Lego project for one of their own? That'd be 3 times since I came out of my dark ages, 1st time being classic pirates for Potc, 2nd time being the Cuusoo project for Lone Ranger, and I'd hate for Disney to block yet another "evergreen" theme for a one-off of their own.

You bring up a good point FaeFrost, we all know how protective Disney was with Potc, and why we haven't seen a real pirates set in a while.

I just remembered that back when Hero Factory was still new, Lego said they didn't rule out the possibility of returning Bionicle. I haven't picked up anything construction based in almost 4 years, and Hero Factory 2014 seems very tempting. But I don't think I'll go heavily into Hero Factory either way. If TLG manages to pull of this new theme successfully, it may just draw me back into the game.

Well wasn't Shrek 4 the last of the franchise? I doubt they'd get a license based on a franchise that's done with. The only reason that we still get sets for Star Wars is because it always has something new to bring to the table and was started in 1999, when the Phantom Menace first came out, so I doubt they'd have any reason to give us a Shrek line. Also, it was sort of implied that the new theme would have a fairy tale twist, you can't put a twist on a license that already exists, right?

I don't know what to think of that... And Ardelon brings up a good point, I mean the castle theme is already so heavily into fairy tales, and what if he is just referencing the Disney Princes's theme? I'll just hope for the best and that we do get a Castle theme next year with those elements.

Yeah, I should have token the Lotr fans into consideration, still I think it'd be funny. But your comment did make me laugh, I'm not a brony, I haven't watched an episode of MLP but the fact that you thought it'd be disgraceful was hilarious, and I kind of agree

This was a wonderful read. It seems like you and Lego have been together for quite a while now! And yes, I still hide the fact that I collect Lego to some people, but it's comments like these that make me want to go outside and admit to the world that I buy Lego, and that's that!

I agree, but then again I'm also biased and see only reasoning to have the Zane story arc end. Yeah, truth is I want the focus to shift to either Cole or Nya, I think they have good potential as characters. But you did bring up good points, if a Dragon is one of the (if not, then THE) most powerful creatures in Ninjago, and it's being piloted by Sensei freaking Wu, then what else could be stronger? This arc is begging to end, despite it's great plot.

That is a very good point, I was looking for a way to bring up the character bio's as a reason to expect Benny, but didn't exactly know how to word it. And yes, the very fact that the characters resemble their set depictions in the characters bio's is reason enough IMO. But doesn't Batman have a bio? Oh please don't tell me we'll get another Batman... -
That's true, but those 2 vehicles originally appeared in the Batman and Spiderman theme originally. And I never quite thought of that Oola solution, hopefully someone can post that in the purist superheroes thread.

Whoa, if only I had the space for that! Good job on the transformation, and great city, you did a good job of avoiding the blocky look most cities get and made it all look organised and structured.

Well, the DC superheroes wave for 2014 will revolve solely around him, and there may not even be a summer wave for that theme, which means Lego would have made a whole year just for Batman, and to have him in yet another set apart from his theme would be hilariously painful. I mean, a whole year just for him, and then the inclusion of him in another set? It seems sort of like a way for TLG to flick off DC fans, which would be dumb since Warner Bros is already doing that with the 2014 wave of sets. I just don't see how they could do that without getting people mad. Unless everyone here would be ok with that, which in my opinion is just baffling. -
Wait so there will be a Queen? I hope she gets some actual speaking lines, I mean other than Breez, we're actually getting (or might be) another female figure! Well she is technically a Beast, I'm excited either way.
