  1. This thread encompasses all builds within Port Raleigh and on the island of Annetta that belong to Corrington. Name: Port Raleigh Ownership: The Crown of Corrington Location: Annetta (also known as Berelli) in the Sea of Thieves Mayor: Erie Flynn [skaforhire] Trade Value: See account summary Town Bank: See account summary Town Income per turn/Town Expenses per turn: 153.5DB/200DB Who can own property in Arlinsport: Anyone. Who can freebuild in Arlinsport: Anyone. Map: On the settlement of Port Raleigh: According to the official history of Corrington, Lord Erie Flynn, a well-known Corlander navigator first caught sight of the island Annetta in 615 AE. He explored the island, named it, and then sailed back to Belson to present his findings to the Queen's court. She granted him governorship over the island. However, while he was away, the Eslandolans had publicly claimed the island, which they called Berelli, they even planted a city in the best harbor, called Elysabethtown. It was to Flynn’s surprise when his Royal Sloop, Vengeance, arrived off the mouth of what he had named Snake River, on his first voyage to Annetta, and found the fledgling town in operation under the MAESTRO Trade Company. Lord Flynn, with a governor’s commission under his belt, sailed to another location he had found when he discovered Annetta, off the River Queens, on the Southeast end of the island. It did not have the natural harbor that the Snake River had, but it led deep into fertile planting lands. The first public work after the administration buildings would have to be a light house, as a reef right off the river was tricky to navigate – this of course would also add to the defense of the harbor. It was there on the south bank that he began surveying and laying out Port Raleigh, named after the Queen’s mother, Raleigh Anastaza Rose Mandaran. 2. Under the buzzer, this is my third free build, so please approve if you like it. I hope to get more pictures up with better light, but I wanted to get Port Raleigh founded this month! 616 AE – Lord Erie Flynn gazed out over the harbor and saw pure promise. Port Raleigh, secretly founded on the Island of Annetta a few months prior was starting to come alive. In the harbor the lighthouse was almost completed, the first permanent docks had been finished, and the first permanent houses had foundations laid. Up on the hill, his own house, and the seat of government, stood as a monument to Corrington ingenuity. The first three story building in the New World, it was blandly known as The Government House, although the workers of Port Raleigh now called it the Teal Bosshouse. The lower level served as the seat of government, the public notary, and the headquarters of the small platoon of marines Flynn had on hand. The upper level housed him, his wife, and his two children. His wife was ever so happy for this new adventure, and he was proud to give young Wellham a chance to shape a new world from a very young age. gomthbad by skaforhire, on Flickr Flynn peared into his wine glass and thought about the recent past. The Eslandolans had publicly claimed the island, which they called Berelli, they even planted a city in the best harbors, called Elysabethtown. It was to Flynn’s surprise when his Royal Sloop, Vengeance, arrived off the mouth of what he had named Snake River, on his first voyage to Annetta, and found the fledgling town in operation under the MAESTRO Trade Company. DSC_2511 by skaforhire, on Flickr [sorry poor focus on that one, but the closest I have to Flynn peering into his wine…] rudemap by skaforhire, on Flickr Lord Flynn, with a governor’s commission under his belt, sailed to another location he had found when he discovered Annetta, off the River Queens, on the Southeast end of the island. He was growing so quickly now. They had been here only a few months, and he had already started practicing with a sword, learning the native tongue, and impressing his father with his knowledge of geography. Soon the boy would be joining the marines if he had his way, or if his father had his way. LadyK by skaforhire, on Flickr His sister Elma held her stuffed bear tightly. “mum, when is da going to take us to meet the chief?” Kally couldn’t shelter her daughter from the intrigues of the island either. She was becoming just as strong willed as her brother, and perhaps her education was coming along faster. “I think your father will be negotiating with Chief Azuma by himself.” She put on her best face, she didn’t want the children to know that the Tenotclaxcans were already allied with the Eslandolans, and her husband was having trouble opening trade. The peace was tenuous at best. Last month the Native attacked a foraging party from Port Raleigh and killed three marines. DSC_2513 by skaforhire, on Flickr “Aww Shucks” Elma said as she began to play with her bear again. Kally kept her composure and strength even though the guard watching over them looked a little nervous. Kally knew it was only a matter of time before the tension hit a breaking point. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Sully Tanner parried Master Kenner’s swing. He smiled, he may have bested the old man for once! Sully Duels by skaforhire, on Flickr Nope. The old man tapped him on the shoulder. “Your dead,” the bearded curmudgeon said succinctly. Sully had bought a First Lieutenant commission a few years back, but the commission did not get assigned orders until just a few months ago, when Sully found himself ordered in charge of a platoon of Royal Marines aboard the HMS Vengeance. Their mission, to establish a port on a secret island, Lord Erie Flynn had discovered! Now, a few months later, with the Vengeance returned to Corrington, Sully found himself in charge of the entire garrison of the new town. As it turned out, an officer was expected to be a gentlemen, and Lord Flynn had taken Sully under his wing – most likely to impress his uncle, Admiral Woodbrose – and was now schooling the young Tanner in the ways of courtliness. Sully had grown up far from the estate of his uncle, and had little training in these ways. Additionally, it turned out that a commander was supposed to be able to handle a sword, not just firearms – which Sully was an expert in. So now, Flynn’s boy’s tutor had taken on another pupil. Sadly, Master Kenner seemed to think Welhelm the much better swordsman – but Sully Tanner would eventually prove to be the equal of the old man… he just knew it. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* As I said, this is my third freebuild for January. Please approve if you like it! I am going to try and get a few more better shots up. As you can see it is mostly a front face of the building, because I don’t have enough teal to do the whole thing. (I disassembled a lot of Kaliphlin builds for this one!)
  3. With that fourth build, Arlinsport is finally worth as much as the lesser Eslandolan settlements in the future (although Bardo has already started growing.)
  4. I want to see the playout this month of the system, then we will figure out how to roll it out.

  6. There was a general resistance to pinning more topics, so it was included in the Index, it is a locked thread, so it would not be bumped. However, if it is just a MRCA form that you need to fill out, we will accept them a little late, I can't start calculating everything until the 2nd or 3rd anyway, and I have to go through all of the licenses first before I even get to the MRCA, so there is some leeway this month if you need to get the MRCA form in.
  7. Skaforhire got buried in work! Funny thing is, I was thinking about this this morning, I know I have to set it up. Just trying to find my Desert King figs to create the intro build. I am going to post it as a mini-challenge.
  8. That is an excellent looking WIP. Don't worry, I already have the next five classes written, and it fits one of them, so by the time you finish, you will be able to properly license it. The green doesn't matter, Corrington uses whatever is efficient and its a bonus if it looks nice and orderly. It can be blue, white, green, yellow, pink, etc... as long as it serves its purpose. We don't rage at the sight of blue or green like some of our neighbors do when they see red. As for game licensing. We can definitely work something out where the nation pays the cost to have her afloat, and you have a character captain her. That would put us at four warships (we don't have to MOC the first three -- but we can if we want) if your ship is the first done, and and we have been stockpiling for a few months, we should be able to afford and maintain her at the pace we are going. (getting a few more members would help our cause here). Also, she would be very useful if we need to knock out an enemy port in the new world.
  9. Just a note to everyone, the due date for January freebuilds, MRCA forms, licenses, etc... is January 31st anywhere in the world. Just to ease some of you panicking to get stuff done by midnight GMT...
  10. Yes, but it might not carry the same weight with some of the judges.
  11. I really like the base, and those are really neat looking plants!
  12. I get obsessed. I should really sell half my minifigures to support this lego habit, my wife would probably like that too. haha. Let's leave it at too many since I haven't counted in a decade. I think both Red and Blue are under 100 though. I could be wrong. At some point I will try to display them all. Right now, there is just too much real life stuff to get done.
  13. I heard a rumor that they were going to do it in reverse, but I can't remember where. But I digress, hopefully many people on here got a chance to stock up on parts for BoBS!
  14. Sorry! Well, I am an army builder, so I bought too many. My armies for both colors should now be in the triple digits. They will see the battlefield eventually in one of Scarst and I's call to arms battle, once we convert the rules to renaissance era. Before Bricks and Pieces shut for the winter(?) they did have red torsos. However, every time I ordered more than 10, they would cancel my order. I attempted to build a 50 man greencoat army, but they cancelled that over and over again as well, even when I ordered it in smaller denominations.
  15. IT was nice to see red and blue torsos on Lugbulk this year. My LUG actually voted to order both, so I have a pretty big army coming!
  16. Just remember, this project is a little bit stricter than GOH, you will have to stick with your faction for a while, so make sure you are certain you want to join Corrington, or whoever you join, before committing.
  17. Took out the "only," but it has been added. I took out the "only" because if I am fast enough today, and get good light tomorrow, we will have established Port Raleigh on Annetta this month.
  18. Scarst is at work, but I have seen his ship, he is just waiting for me to take pictures of it and it will be posted today. He will want in on Route A if we have the slot, if not he will probably do the same route without escort. Kai already answered this, but we are throwing out the plantation maximum for right now. We may revisit it in a year or so. But everything already done would be grandfathered in.
  19. To be perfectly honest, it originally was just a raiding system, but we had to entice the traders to play somehow...
  20. I recycled the test form, where that used to be the rule before launch. There is no limit to zones right now, later on when the map is larger, there will be a limit on "regions" but for now, ignore it.
  21. as long as somebody remembers to send it with their trade ships... hahaha. But seriously, someone in leadership needs to send those ships out via the MRCA form.
  22. If you need the approval, I approve! Great little boat here, and sorely needed for island economy! I like the atmosphere of the whole setup.
  23. Since we don't want to make our routes public, PM me or Mike S, and we will give you the details. Right now we have Route A - The Risky Route (3 stops) - Escorted by Pandora Route B - The less risky route (3 stops) - Escorted by Queen's Glory And perhaps Route C - Which will be a two stop, higher risk journey, and we will assign Mermaid there if any Corlanders join that venture. If not, I propose we send Mermaid on the Risky Route. We have some coordination with Eslandola, and I believe they will be adding some of their ships to these routes. Right now it looks like ESL and COR are business partners.
