Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion

Also, if you have not registered your free builds, please do! Even if they are not properties, they still add to the wealth of the settlement. -
Settlement: Bastion, Nest of Thieves, Sea Rats
SkaForHire replied to MKJoshA's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Bastion has 8 NPC properties. As long as all of those FBs were registered, 7 fell within January, adding an additional 35 "raw" trade value of 75 to Bastion starting Feb 1. Bastion qualifies as a town with 15 properties as of Feb 1. With the 80% modifier to the total "raw trade value" of 75, the total value of Bastion in the Feb MRCA is 60 DB.- 25 replies

The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
SkaForHire replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
They were actually ready last month, I just forgot about them -- and that means the other leaders did too! I will start a new rules page so people don't have to come to the Corrington page. On another note, if anyone wants to MOC the soldiers arriving at Port Raleigh, that is a good extra free build! Maybe the queen will reward that person(s) A battalion is 90 men, but the builder does not have to show all 90! or even more than a handful! (Also, the builder could register any property they MOC for this scene!)- 897 replies

Coyle Shipping Co. February MRCA Escorted Trade runs
SkaForHire replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Since nobody has a real "cushion" right now in their bank account, I think the percentage is the way to go for now instead of a flat fee. Also, If it were my ship being escorted, I would not mind you getting the prize ship, and if it was one of substantial value, I think that could even mitigate the convoy fee. However, if there is a royal warship with that run, the rules would hand over the ship to whichever ship actually caught it. But, maybe you could work a deal with the government to run the ship? Theoretical right now, but we can all discuss it when it happens. -

I was wrong, we have 27 platoons in our regiment. So my new proposal is to fully crew all four warships, send a whole battalion (9 platoons) to Port Raleigh and leave the rest in Arlinsport until we have another settlement. Bregir, that looks awesome!- 897 replies

For future reference Carno, Mardier, Altonia, Namere and Garvey have royal fleets of class 5 heavy that are in the waters of New Terra. Varcoast, Pontilla both have fleets, but are not present in New Terra. The other kingdoms and confederacies also have stayed put at this point. Mardier: Vanquisher, Jack of Hearts, and Elleenium Garvey Harasser, Old Cal, Throatcutter Carno: El Durango, Resistance, Al'Druin Namere: Polly, Stargazer, Ernesto Altonia: Mantaray

I know this feeling! Everything I have built for BoBS has been recycled off of Kaliphlin Civil War MOCs! My house is too small for my collection, so it is just really hard to get a good sort going. Maybe some day... -

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
SkaForHire replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
To be cried from every hamlet in Kaliphlin and beyond: His Great Lord and Pharaoh, King of all Kaliphlin, Master of Historica, and Protector of the Ancient Power, the Desert King Ark'Mora Raa has declared formally: All loyal captains come to Sultan's Gate, show your support for your liege. By March 31st, the Desert King expects his troops to marshal for an assault against the Black Spire. The Desert King wishes to return Nocturnus to its rightful rulers. Those lords in open rebellion against his high authority will be dealt with swiftly, but those in rebellion that wish to come to their senses and join the great crusade, will receive his forgiveness. The Desert King remembers his supporters, but has his enemy's names etched into his eternal mind. So it has been determined, on this 40th day of the second year of the Desert King's New Kingdom. Contest: Those in favor, show your colors for the Desert King -- Send your warriors, or depict your warriors (it does not have to be your sigfig) to Sultan's Gate to join the Nocturnus Crusade. Those opposed -- stop those DK-loving jerks! Set an ambush for the warrior-pilgrims heading to Sultan's Gate. Limitations: 32x32 with limited overhang Must depict a band of soldiers, either on their way to Sultan's Gate / showing up in Sultan's Gate or being ambushed on the way there. If you ambush in the desert, and have no structures the size limitation is lifted (the endless desert!) This contest should not be just figbarf, entries will be judged on minifig posing, background, foreground, setup, design and story. Prizes: The winner of each category will be allowed to style themselves as: "Great Pilgrim of the Desert King" "Great Confuser of the Desert King" -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
SkaForHire replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
The Desert King says that the best place for the Drow to make their new city is in the eternal plane with First Centurion and all of his other enemies that he has vanquished. The forces of Eastgate are stronger than a mere 1000 men. If they were not in storage they would show up right now. We have not had a good fig barf army contest in a while! We do fear that our ally Mypa Stedor will side with the Drow though, we know they have a secret love there. So we will need another large Kaliphlin army to hold off the Drow. -
As always, pretty spectacular build there! Welcome back. I guess the Drow were not all eradicated.

We have the most diverse geography and the most diverse population. You can build anything you want, the entire Wither Woods has a heavy European style to it. -
I am really looking forward to those pieces... probably the first ninjago I will buy in a long time! They look very sharp on our red uniforms! But again, I really love this MOC. I keep coming back to see it and think, yep, those are our boys!

I won't blow the surprise but I stopped counting at 100 islands in our immediate vicinity. The entire world map is already made, my random generator and a little bit touch up made a very diverse world with a some major continents and island chains. We can probably play this map for the next ten years, easily.- 897 replies

[Esl - FB 1] : Diplomatic Meeting
SkaForHire replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A medium fortress on one of the two other rivers would be in range of both our settlements. We could joint built a fortress there, or even at both. Although any adventuring Sea Rats or Oleanders might beat us to putting something at those locations. A large fort in either settlement would be able to cover the other. The privateer is trickier, because unless we convince a nation to support it, then it counts against someone's ship total. Troops are covered more in the Corrington starting threads, I never put that information anywhere else because it was information straight from the leadership boards. I will have to find a place to put it for the public.- 15 replies

[Esl - FB 1] : Diplomatic Meeting

1) Yes. Build away! 2) Yes we can put some of their villages on the map. In my mind they are the primary (only?) tribe of the island. 3) Yes, I think the governor would like this. 4) Yes, but we will have to decide who is building the patrol vessels and we should probably each have forts in our own towns. We could put a few in neutral territory that would have the radius to cover both towns though, that would be like doubling our effort. Official response: Lord Manzana, We come in peace, but are not afraid to make war with the savages. After last night's raid, we are not sure Azuma has control of all his warriors. We have ordered three platoons of men from Arlinsport to fortify our town. We cannot make the promise of no further firearms on Annetta, for that is something only the Queen's council can authorize. In this wilder new world, one can never be too careful. We would suggest that our friends, the Eslandolans also arm themselves, if not from the Ténotclaxcans, then from the raids of Sea Rats. We are interested in mutual defense, and have been authorized to seek a joint funding of such endeavors. We have no problem with Eslandola or sharing this island at this time. Our wishes of many fruitful years to you and your company. In the honorable name of Queen Annetta I, Protector of Knowledge, Lord Erie Flynn Governor of Annetta- 15 replies

I did, I was just too busy to fully reply. I will get to it soon. Yes, the rules for troops are a bit hidden, they are actually only officially posted in our own thread in one of the first threads. Troops are expensive to set up and to upkeep, but yes you can then put them on your ship for extra crew points. No royal troops can be used on a private vessel though.- 897 replies

Duel: Hugo d'Offren VS Elysabeth of Drondil
SkaForHire replied to TitusV's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I too think both builds were great fun, but I will have to also side with Titus here. I felt the MOC was polished, and although I liked Bd's story a lot, in the end I think TItus was stronger this time around. Great first duel, both of you! It was good to see one while BOBS was so young.- 55 replies
