  1. Very clever idea!!! (and I like your little mod of trans-red cheese slopes as lights on the back of the HE!).
  2. The green shunter is the winner!!! Any instructions available?
  3. Love this 4-wide truck! The green bricks look really good on it. I am doing an 80's set-inspired layout and I may have to pinch this design off of you!!!
  4. Great designs yet again, Murdoch!!!
  5. Yeah, the Lego radii is what I meant. I don't have a lot of space for my layout so the ME larger radii really don't work for me. :(
  6. Too bad they don't make their rails in the standard Lego gauge. If they did I would be all over these quicker than Gerard Depardieu all over a chocolate croissant!!!
  7. The Horizon Express really does look more impressive the more carriages that are connected.
  8. Great work yet again, Murdoch (no relation to Rupert I hope!!!).
  9. It could be just me, but what amazes me the most about those photos is the vibrancy of the colors on some of those new old bricks!!! As I said, it could just be me, but the red bricks just looks so, so, so red!!! Compared to the bricks made these days that almost have a translucent effect. And the old grey colors that make up the track and sleepers look so clean! They almost look like light-bluish grey and dark-bluish grey. Very impressive. I have all the parts to build my copy of the 7725 - I just need to find the time. Unfortunately, I went with new red bricks and light-bluish grey for the slope bricks (cheaper), and, after seeing these photos I wish I had made the effort like you did!!!! Jealousy isn't even the correct word right now!!!! I don't think you need to write a review, but, I actually think this thread should be bumped up to the top of the Train Tech Forum as a guide for anyone out there who wants to go through the effort of creating an "old as new" set via Bricklink. It's inspiring...
  10. I like your EOL bumper, Marook! And thanks for putting up some pics on your Flickr account that show how it works. Hmmmm, now you guys will have both built your 7725's by the end of the weekend, I am getting itchy to build mine too!!!!
  11. Thanks for the update! Can't wait to see photos of the finished build!! Super jealous of what you are doing here (I wish I had done something like this before I got married!!! ).
  12. Really like this Murdoch. I've been playing with the 79111 engine too in LDD, trying to come up with something similar to yours, but leaning towards more of the classic 12v trains (black with red wheels, etc.). Keep up the great work!!!
  13. +1 for everything everyone has said already!!! Those photos are great. The green train actually makes me want to build a 6+ wide engine for the first time!!!
  14. Where is the "like" button for these videos!!! Top quality, keep up the good work.
  15. 33: 10 9: 6 1: 4 21: 3 34: 2 5: 1
  16. Do you have an update on your train CT?
  17. I still get the site as down when I visit the URL. Would love for it to come back as I have bought some sticker sheets from them and they are fantastic. I have also bought from corgan_wheel on eBay. Those stickers are good too - just not pre-cut like the ministickers ones.
  18. Looks great! I'm going to try this out on some of my own MOC's tonight!
  19. I never owned the sets that you mentioned. My collection is limited to classic sets (early 1980's) and the "expert" sets of recent years. The way I figure it is that one day, once things settle down again, I will start up my Lego collection again in the hope of concentrating on a single train layout (or as much as the missus will let me get away with!!!).
  20. I love that steam locomotive in the middle video. Is that your own MOC Udo?
  21. I am literally going for the same process for the same reasons at the moment as you eliminator. The only things I am keeping from my Lego collection are train related.
  22. Great work yet again CT!!! Can't wait to see the finished product. Out of curiosity, why can't you get the 1x8 red tiles as new?
  23. My brother was into Lima electric trains (HO?) when I was a kid and he had a building in his diorama that looked just like that. Another great SNOT building enters the wilderness!
  24. I think you could borrow some ideas from the Winter Christmas Village series. For example, on the latest 10245 Santa's Workshop, there is a string of lights that runs along the roof of the workshop. I think something like that would look great snaking along both sides of some train carriages.
