  1. What an incredible looking train!!! You managed to get a SNOT version of the engine's nose that looks much better than the Sante Fe!!! Now I want this as the official 2015 Creator train!!!
  2. I was thinking the actual topics could be "closed" so that general chit-chat can be avoided and just the raw facts are easily obtained. Just a thought.
  3. It would be nice if there was a special area on this forum where this kind of information - the upkeep and maintenance of older train-related equipment - could be easily tracked down for future reference.
  4. What is the "prototype" people are talking about? Is that an official thing from Lego related to the HE?
  5. I think you need to start buying lottery tickets mate!!! The amount of luck you have had finding these amazing bricks (and other parts) from another era is fantastic.
  6. I love watching this project come to life. I am planning on building the same train based on parts from Bricklink - nowhere near to the lengths that you are going to (any type of red brick is good enough for me - as long as they are not overly scratched or discolored). I was wondering if you could post the LDD files that you created above? I am very interested to see what you did with the axles. Keep up the great work CT!!!!
  7. Great way to blend the old with the new!!! Definitely saves on having to completely opt-in with old 12V technology - which seems to be getting more expensive by the day. As others have said, ingenious!!!
  8. Always looking for the perfect Lego train...

  9. The funny thing is, I just ordered parts off Bricklink for a very similar looking bridge that I have built in LDD!!!! My bridge will be fairly low profile - maybe 3 bricks off the baseplate. Keep up the good work!!!
  10. Is EB compatible with the Forum Runner iPhone plug-in/app?
  11. Amazing that I was just thinking about doing something like this with a basic oval 9V layout, and I thought I would check the forums to see if anyone had done something similar. And here is this thread with such a great and simple solution!!!! Love this site!!! Love these forums!!! Oh, Lazarus, if you could post some progress photos, that would be awesome too!!!
  12. I guess I have the same negative feedback that has already been mentioned, so I won’t go into that, but I have to say that I am very disappointed with this one. I actually created my own art-deco cinema (fully designed in LDD, but only the ground floor built for real so far). If you want to check it out, I have uploaded some renders on MOCPages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/350883 It’s not a corner design, as I realised very quickly that you lose so much real estate when you take a corner onboard - you need every square stud in area when it comes to building a cinema. With mine, I was still able to have two cinemas, stairs to the second floor, concession stand on both levels, windows as well as fully darkened cinemas, projectors, speakers and lighting, many more seats than 10232, and a slightly different design for each level’s cinema (was also able to incorporate raised seating for each row of seats!!!). All of this, with some unique building techniques that I have to say that I am quite proud of! The part count for my cinema is 2846 pieces, so definitely something in the reasonable range (when compared to Town Hall for example), so, I guess my disappointment comes from personal experience in that I know that TLC could have done so much more with this. Saying all of that, I will be buying this set - the main reason being to have “the complete set” - and that’s the only reason. I may also still complete my cinema, and turn this one into a Chinese restaurant, as someone else mentioned they would do. I think there is a lot of potential there.
  13. Yep, definitely Cussoo it!!!
  14. I agree - it looks like a real Lego set!!! The color scheme works, and its just the right size. This engine could do well on Cuusoo!!!
  15. Thanks for these photos, Asper. They are sure to help me out immensely!!! Man, I love EuroBricks!!! Such a free-flowing stew of ideas!
  16. Asper, It would be great if you could post some more photos of your creation for us to see - especially some close-ups of the carriages.
  17. I love this!!! I have been working on recreating the 7777 hopper, and I was thinking about improving on the design, but this version has just blown me out of the water!!! The only thing I can't figure out from the videos is how the buckets get back to their horizontal state on the return journey? Is it just that they are so loose that gravity gets them back to the original state? Your design has really fired me up to get back into my train MOC. I love EuroBricks for all of this amazing inspiration!!!! And the free-flowing of ideas!!! Keep up the great work! PS: I will be using some kind of conveyor belt system running underneath my MOC to transfer 1x1 round plates from the dumper to a loader down the line.
  18. Matt, What ever happened to this? I would love to see some pics of your Mk II version.
  19. Love your work Jimbo!!!! I myself am currently playing with a smaller layout (limited space to display in at home), and this concept of yours is great inspiration. It would be great to see your layout in the flesh. Where in Australia are you located?
  20. A great interview and some outstanding work from Steinkopf!!! I don't know who he is, but I hope he displays some of his work at the Sydney Brick Show in June.
  21. I'll be getting this set if I can. I love Lego space-themed sets that are based on real space related objects and I wish there were more of them aimed at AFOL's.
  22. I love it too. It actually reminds me of this t-shirt from Threadless: http://www.threadless.com/product/576/Funkalicious/tab,guys/style,shirt
  23. Tearloch, Your sticker work is second-to-none!!! And you have inspired me to not only upgrade my Burlington engine, but also a Power Miners themed engine that I am currently working on - that will require lime stickers to cover the rechargeable battery box and the IR receiver. Can you provide us with some more information about the Papilio sticker sheets you used? Is there a part number, etc. that we can reference? Can we buy these off eBay? You also mentioned some anti-UV gloss paint - can you give us any more info on this please? Is it a spray paint? Where did you buy it? Is it easy to use? Cheers, and once again, great work!!!!
