  1. So, the new revolver has only appeared in The Lone Ranger theme so far, while the classic revolver is still being used in new sets – even in the western sets from The Lego Movie. When, if ever, do you guys think we'll see the new revolver in new sets? Do you guys think this is a good indication that we'll see a new western theme in the near future? Or perhaps this new mold was never meant for any more than a one time use. Opinions? Speculation? Insider information?
  2. They should make the classic space helmets. People would buy the crap out of those. Matching the colors might be difficult though.
  3. I haven't bought any of the modular buildings because, while I wouldn't want to mix them in with the rest of my parts, I also wouldn't want to display them forever. I would probably just end up spending ≈$150 on something that will become a bag of parts I keep in the closet. That said, I definitely have been tempted to buy the Parisian Restaurant. It's very well designed.
  4. Did you paint the parts or what?
  5. megabluck Heh. Nice. megablock megablocks
  6. I don't use them. I'm loyal to TLG. I've gotten Mega Trash in tubs of used parts before and I either throw them away or throw them in the bucket of parts to resell to some poor soul on Craigslist. (Forgive me father, for I have sinned.) I've heard enough horror stories to make me stay away from other clone brands. I've read some funny reviews of them before. I wish I had a link to the PDF.
  7. I never knew it filters that. Mega Bloks Didn't work! Mega Blocks
  8. Sarcasm?
  9. If I were you, I'd sell the crossover because it's very valuable. I would them use that money to buy another train. :)

    Moral Dilemma

If it were me, I would ask the person who appears to give the fewest craps about the job. I wouldn't ask someone who looks up-tight because they probably do have rules about that stuff, but probably most people at Wal-Mart don't give a crap about it. It's not like they're being paid well enough to care anyway.
  11. Not knowing the specifics is part of the charm of the old themes. I personally would not want the answer.

I also think you should ask.
  13. In general, I would never recommend anyone buy bulk parts online. You could always find some locally for a lot cheaper. Check Craigslist and Facebook garage sales pages. Also, in the photo, it's very easy to see that it's not 5lbs of Lego parts. You can see in the photo that a good portion of it is K'NEX and it's a very small lot. If you're looking for specific parts, minifigures, or sets, Bricklink is usually the best option. But, like I said, buying locally is always the best for bulk, random parts. There have been many times I've gotten good deals on huge tubs. I once found a tub for $25 and it was probably 40lbs. I always take out the minifigures and whatever parts I'm interested in, then resell the rest for about $6/lbs on Craigslist. Then I sell the minifigures I don't want on eBay.

  15. Disclaimer: I am a male, so my opinions may not matter. My thoughts: • I love the astronomy tile. It could be useful in many types of builds, like classrooms or space ships. • I'm surprised by how much they stuck to the original design. Personally, I was hoping they would expand on the original idea a bit, like perhaps adding more vignettes. (No mathematicians or physicists…) • The minifigures are disappointing. The chemist's face has a nasty expression and the smock in the original was much better. I see no reason for an angry face on the paleontologist. Really, neither the paleontologist nor the astronomer are dressed in any way that says they're any kind of scientist. I know most scientist don't normally dress the part, but since this is a toy, it would be nice if, for example, the astronomer had a classic space logo on her shirt pocket. • The dinosaur is well made and very clever, but seems very MOC-ish for an official set. I think if this were part of a real theme, they would have made a new mold for the dinosaur skeleton, similar to the horse skeleton.

  17. Another advantage with the new system is that you can't easily make long tracks with 9V. You would have to have more than one power source for an extra long track. I agree that you should use the new track if you don't have any old trains. It's definitely a plus that the RC tracks are still in production. I love being able to buy tracks from the Lego store.
  18. The old 9V sets had metal on the tracks that carried the electricity. A lot of people seem to prefer those. The new ones have a battery pack inside the train, which can be difficult to hide in MOCs. Without looking them up, I can tell you that the different train sets normally go like this: a) Train with no power functions and little track, if any b) Train with power functions, but little track and no extras c) Train with power functions, lots of track, and a small building The third one is the Cargo Train. I have the new one. It's expensive, but it's worth every dollar. It has everything you need to get started with Lego trains. I highly recommend it.
  19. I think another reason is that it's easier for them to design models if they don't have to worry about making them figure scale.
  20. I'm pretty sure they're different colors.
  21. Awesome! I love how almost all of the parts are from the 1990s.
  22. Why not Zoidberg?
  23. I just bought the new Cargo Train yesterday. It's amazing. I'm so glad I waited and bought this one instead of the previous one.
  24. I've bought hundreds of sets and minifigures throughout the years and I've never encountered a missing piece.
