  1. I really like it too. Since there's a new logo, maybe we'll also see a new cast of minifigures. It'd be awesome if we got a new captain and crew. I'd also love to see some blue soldiers or, perhaps even better, a new Spanish armada.
  2. It's definitely been too long since a Pirates set has been released. I was just on the verge of coming out of my dark ages when the last wave was released, so I only bought one set. That was really stupid of me. If they release another wave of Pirates sets, I'll buy all of them. I'm really excited for this. Someone mentioned another PotC wave. Please, no.
  3. Have you ever considered that we might have those problems (in part) because children are exposed to adult media too early in life? I'm not saying the Lego sets are inappropriate. I'm just saying that, for example, The Simpsons isn't a show I'd let my kindergartner watch. It's just not age-appropriate. Just playing devil's advocate here, of course. I'm not making any claims. I'm not a sociologist.
  4. The funny thing is that this is the first time I've ever even looked at my VIP points history. They could have been ripping me off this whole time and I would have no idea. I actually didn't even know they showed such a detailed history. It's pretty cool to be able to see all of the purchases I've made at the Lego store. It's a good thing most of my parts don't come from the Lego store, though. I wouldn't want to know how much I've actually spent on this stuff.
  5. That's the first thing I thought of, but it shows I lost points on the day I opened the account. I think you're right! Now that you mention it, I think those PAB cups actually were discounted. I don't know what the -4 points is for, but I guess I must have gotten a discount on something else somehow. The -200 was when I actually did use the points. I got $10 off the train switches when I used them. Edit: I see what the -4 is now. That hotdog stand set was free, but they initially gave me 4 points for it. So they removed them.
  6. In all seriousness, though, it is interesting to note that TLG has been dabbling in a lot of things lately that aren't very kid-friendly. LotR, The Simpsons, and Back to the Future definitely aren't children's movies. I'd say that's a big departure from the smiley, everything-is-awesome sets of the 1980s and earlier. Is that a big problem? Not really. But it's interesting to note anyway. It might make an interesting sociology article.
  7. Does anyone know why are there random points subtracted from my VIP account? The only time I've ever used my VIP points was when it says -200.
  8. Hi Brian! I tried to send you a message, but you don't have enough posts to be able to use the messaging system. You could e-mail me the address though. jodawill at iuk edu. What time is the meeting? I teach Sunday school in Kokomo and we get out around 12:15 usually. It looks like it'll take about 1.5 hours to get to the meeting.
  9. I love that photo of the tank. It makes it look really huge.
  10. Awesome. I can't wait to see the entries. I really want to do a 48x48 Alien Conquest scene, but I'm afraid I might have too many of my gray pieces tied up in my Legoredo MOC. I'll see what I can do.
  11. My favorite set has always been Fort Legoredo. It was the first big set I ever owned. I have three of them now. There are a lot of great pirates sets too. It'd be hard to choose just one of those.
  12. Holy cow! I never would have thought a Lego motor could do that!
  13. Dangit… I actually believed this. I should have known better. I was so angry too. I was about to comment something like, "Don't they realize this is all just for fun?"
  14. Looks great!
  15. I wouldn't do it. Unless you have buyer protection, only buy locally. Don't trust someone to ship you something if there's no way to hold them accountable.
  16. I love these kinds of threads. I'm sure the resident Lego historian is typing up a full essay at this very moment.
  17. Homer Simpson's head could be used for other Homer Simpson minifigures. /s
  18. eBay doesn't show the bidder's real username anymore unless you're the seller. The usernames are similar because they're fake usernames just generated to show unique bidders.
  19. As for the last question, the minifigure series should NEVER end!
  20. I don't remember seeing it before. Was it there in 2012 or 2013? Are you the guy who made the Lucas Oil Stadium? If you're one of the guys from IndyLUG, I'm sure I've met you before. I was going to join a couple years ago, and I got access to the forum, but that was around the time I started college, so life just got too hectic to get involved with the LUG. I'm working on a big western display right now. It would be fun if I could show it off at Brickworld someday.
  21. It looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the Bungee Blaster sets. I had one when I was little and I loved it. I was really disappointed when I overstretched the bungee string.
  22. I don't think it's healthy to love in fear. If that's the way you feel about your relationship, you should consider breaking things off.
  23. I was thinking Ralph's face looks strange. It looks really flat and short or something. Overall, though, these minifigures look pretty good.
