  1. You got texture to show in a mostly black vignette so well done
  2. I'm not a mod but you may get more attention for this MOC if you post it in the Sci-Fi Forum since Metroid is spacey. As for the build the creature is fantastic! I love the use of the planet for it's belly and the Astromech canisters for the toes! The pink rectangle is a little plain but the floor for both parts have lots of nice subtle details.
  3. The Washington Monument would be cool to finish off TLG's series of DC monuments/buildings. It's an obelisk so it would be pretty straight forward of a build but the actual monument tapers from a wide base to a narrow point so it could be really interesting. Maybe long plates? It's an iconic structure and being from DC it's a pretty striking part of our skyline, it's the first thing you see when you travel around in the region.
  4. An Arabian Knight sounds really cool. I missed out on the wonderful Prince of Persia figures so i'm looking forward to this especially since middle eastern designs in Lego looks cool for Star Wars stuff.
  5. Now that this has been put in your portfolio do you have plans for future vids? I'm just curious if you have plans or if this is a one time thing because you have talent for this.
  6. You must be fun at parties Seriously you can basically tell what the set is like from the pictures and besides the key word is OPNION. You get annoyed by them why are you even posting in this topic. I'm not begrudging you your 'precious' opinion on this but it seems a bit silly to me. i'm just saying
  7. While i'm one of the few who doesn't hate TLG's model of the Snowspeeder, yes it is outdated , but I would love to see them adapt one to look more like yours. What a great little ship you've managed to get just right.
  8. Correctomundo! (Had to get a 90's reference in there ). I believe that makes it your go.
  9. Which ship do you prefer more? Tie or X-Wing?
  10. Why did they not increase the price to $350 and just include the AT-AT from last year or AT-ST? I would rather pay $100 dollars more if that meant we got five more figures unique and available only to this set as well as more of a base or Imperial assault? Imagine if you will this as well as an extended base of batch/medical room, real control center, some tunnels, larger shield generator, an AT-ST, and five additional minifigures (Leia, Medical droid, snowy chewbacca, AT-ST Pilot, and another Snowtrooper) for $100 dollars more? Chances are if you're willing to pay $250 for this you would be willing to pay $350 if that meant it came with some kickass additional features. Immediately most of our problems with the set would disappear.
  11. Ahh thanks. Agreed. It's why I bought the First Order Transporter for almost $100 because it was the only set from TFA that I wanted to get besides the battle packs. If it's a set I really want I will pay a little bit more for it but if it's a set that i'm ambivalent about it doesn't matter if it's good for the price point i'm less likely to want it if it seems to expensive for something of that size. The amount someone is willing to pay depends on how desirable it is and the right amount of unique minifigures is enough to make someone pay more then they should for a set. I think the mini figure scale UCS millennium falcon is the perfect example of this. Sure it was $500 dollars but it's also the friggin Millennium Falcon. That is one of the most popular spaceships in pop culture so you're going to have people like Conan and others who are typically not Lego people buying the set because they love the ship. Now that's desirability lol
  12. I didn't know you could bookmark a topic until now. Consider it done because this is one of my favorite new canon ships (even if I dislike rebels lol). Perfect job so far! I don't know how your'e going to get it all together but i'm looking forward to find out.
  13. My favorite of all time Star Wars sets: 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina: Where the new one is definitely the better of the two back in the day this set was one of the coolest because of the minifigures and strange parts. Greedo especially. 8014 Clone Battle pack: The best battle pack (Closely followed by the upcoming Rebel alliance Battlepack) of all time because it came at a time where I was hyped for the new Clone Wars series and Clone design. It is the ideal format for battle pack army building coming with three regular troopers and a special as well as a plethora of kama and additional accessories. 8018 AAT: Hands down the best model Lego has ever made of the AAT, which is a really cool tank design on it's own, in my favorite color pattern. 7662 MTT: Same as the AAT this is the best and biggest version of this vehicle and it looks fantastic. The set's weight and durability also makes this sucker feel like a legit tanks. I know this technically doesn't count since I don't own it but when I was little I desperately wanted to buy the original old school AT AT set. I remember staring at the box at target when I was younger and getting weird looks from workers every now and then.
  14. Am I the only one who doesn't understand the circles? I get that they're supposed to be sets, I get it's supposed too stylish, but I don't really get what each blob is. I'm too much of a pragmatist I suppose
  15. This is very good to know!
  16. Has an OT fan I don't hate the prequels. I think the reason the battle droid is in the set is Disney trying to connect the saga closer together. Mr. Bones the battle droid from Aftermath and the battle droid companion RO-GR from the upcoming Star Wars TV series.
  17. I loved the review. Still a set I want to buy but it's unfortunately $10 dollars more expensive at my local target. Oddly enough you sold me on getting it through your honesty of how many problems this set has.
  18. Seeing pictures of this beauty is just continually impressive. This is where the AT AT is at!
  19. It could be Lego improvising a droid. On the other hand in the movie wasn't their a bunch of aliens at a table working on junk and robots?
  20. I'm quite partial to the Clone Wars Y Wing bomber which Lego also did an impeccable job with. The more recent Tie Fighter and X Wings are fairly close to the movie versions.
  21. It's World War 2. It's a prison camp. Those are POW's so it can't be a holocaust movie. It's far too new looking to be Stalug 17 or the Great Escape. The only other movie it could be was this old Bruce Willis Movie I remember watching years ago. Edit: Is it Hart's War?
  22. Do you like Old Republic era stuff? Do you like the figures? Do you like the ship design? Is that reasonable price to pay for it? If it yes and buying won't cause you any hardship, go for it. The Darth Malgus mini figure is at least worth $50 on brick link which is probably a third of the price. I've never owned the set so maybe someone who does could give you better advice but it's a cool looking ship.
  23. It's for those with cash to burn and a knack for lego collecting but they aren't too picky as long as the set is big and showy. It's definitely showy even if it's not great for that.
  24. Very nice one of my favorite Star Wars vehicles of all time captured perfectly at this scale!
