  1. PRO: Proper place for MT Brick-Build models. Easier to find. Similar building techniques all in one forum. CON: Much less attention and replies, MT is not very popular, Technic forum is one of the most visited forums, and separating MT to a new forum will probably leading to losing lots of Technic guys who commented and engaged in posting. Inevitably confusion of where to post model with Brick-Built (MT) body and Technic mechanisms inside.
  2. You can cut both original Lego pneumatic hoses and 3rd party pneumatic hoses.
  3. Around 2 mm / 0.08 inch inside, 4 mm / 1.6 inch outside Since it is regular Lego part and not a pneumatic hose, it is not allowed to cut it. But is since it is flexible, it should be very doable to flex the excess out of the sight.
  4. You can use third party hoses that are same as a Lego pneumatic hoses. Using other diameters and sizes would count as using third party parts, which is not allowed. If you are referring to the big hose on the arm, just suggestion, but you can use original Lego parts: Part x153 Aero Tube 32 x 3 x 2 1/3 I think that will fit almost perfectly :)
  5. I would say keep working on AT-AT, it is too good to abandon it. And it might have a wow effect when voting starts just because of the name and how it looks!
  6. It is allowed, but I would advice against implementing lots of manual functions. And I don't like the idea of main function (lifting the load via the hook) will be operated manually. Main function(s) of your model should be pneumatic.
  7. Yes, switch for compressor motor is allowed. LPE is allowed, sure! You can power it with hand pump, or with a compressor. Just don't copy design from someone else 1:1.
  8. No, sorry, it is not allowed. Motors can only be used to drive a compressor.. Your idea is great and unique, but it does not fit the contest rules.
  9. I think they should be enough if you don't want to lift load in the bucket. They would even look more realistic in this scale.
  10. Last picture...not good. You need to use the bracket for LA, in order to line up its rotating point with universal joint's central point. In your setup, the whole lifting mechanism shakes at the most lifted position, and could damage the parts.
  11. Hi Michael, sorry, but motor can only be used for a compressor.
  12. Because this is Pneumatic contest, not Power Functions contest. Focus should be on Pneumatic functions.
  13. It is only allowed to power (with Lego motors) a pneumatic pump. You can abandon your build and start a new Discussion topic, with a new build. But once you made your Entry post in the Entry topic, it is considered as final. Let's stick with the rules: Design a single pneumatic model.
  14. Lets stick with the rules, which is using motors only for pneumatic pumps.
  15. For me, this is one of your best works so far!
  16. Hi, Great if you are entering the contest! Looking forward to see it. But, as stated in the rules, you need to show some actual progress...pictures or ldd screenshot. Otherwise, this topic may be seen as a idea reservation, which is against the rules. Please post some photos of your build.
  17. Great little arm. Did you test the bottom cylinder, will it have enough power to lift the whole arm?
  18. Great base! Why 7 pneumatic switches? 4 for the arm, and 2 for the front and back outriggers? Looking good!
  19. Everything non-vehicle seems to attract lots of votes, so you never know :)
  20. Nice start! With limited number of cylinders, boom crane seems logical choice. You wont be able to order one or two more cylinders?
  21. Yes, Scania's grill section moves separately from the main cabin, in order to reveal the engine.
