  1. Thank you, I did not know that topic was a thing. I wanted to have an idea of the width of my next build would be. I did some scaling measurements and I was sure if I would have to build 9397 width or 42043 width. If I remember correctly, my calculation came out to like 5.55 inches so 9397 width it is. Thanks @mocbuild101
  2. Probably a terrible idea, but has anyone ever ran water through their pneumatics? I would think water does my compress as easily as air, so the cylinders could withstand more pressure. I don't know, what do you think?
  3. Tracks look much better! And personally I like the old grill style, but it's your build. Both styles look great. Keep up the good work!
  4. Quick question. Once it is answered, a moderator can delete this. I would like someone that has the logging truck built to tell me the width in inches. From the outside of the wheels, please do not include the mirrors. I would build the model again, but that would take a long time just to get the width dimension. Thank you!!
  5. Let's not get political, back to 2018 discussion
  6. As long as they get out of the rainbow color scheme, I'm fine with that
  7. to go back to what you guys were talking about before. I think that the Mack truck will be fully manual with the option of adding PF. Like you guys said, a sleeper truck would give ample room for a BB. The trailer with 3 knobs on the back IMO will look the cleanest, and still be function-able.
  8. Are your modeling this after something specifically? I have never seen a super car with different steering modes. I like this build, something different. I will be following this :)
  9. @mocbuild101 and @badgerboy Thanks for the replies! I think I will try to print it out onto one small piece of paper than go to a print shop. I think it will be easier if the scaled image is one big piece of paper.
  10. I vote no plow, the grill is simple, but it looks really good with the lights you picked. Moving the track up 2 studs help, but IMO it is still a little bit too long, but it is your creation. I hope you still plan to do something with the dead space behind the seat and maybe beef up the main claw arms. BTW, your choice of claws was perfect
  11. Is the only wacky function the method of steering?
  12. Do people not know how to answer my question or do they just not want to help me out?
  13. No no no, please no. If the new anthem truck is the A-model and an older version of the truck (not WWII age). That would be great.
  14. Hey guys, for my next build I am going to try to focus on the scale of the build. I found a dimensional sketch of it and want to print it out to fit the scale I will be building. I would assume to fit the wheel sizes for the best result. But where do I go to get a copy of the sketch that big? And how do I get it the right size the first time?
  15. it is a common mistake on a lot of MOCs with those tires
  16. OH WAIT, one complaint, tires are reversed :D
  17. I have to say, this is my favorite MOC of yours. Well done!
  18. Or just remove the tires off of the non powered wheels, should perform a little better
  19. You should have one topic about your TC12 submission. It will be a WIP type of thread, most of the time people will give advice on your build. Then once you have finished you creation, you post it into the entry thread. No need for a second thread committed to your entry. I hope that answers your question :)
  20. I was waiting for your TC12 project, you always make something facilitating and with the combination of vehicles you chose, you will achieve that again. Here is my feedback, do not take any of this negatively. The front; awesome job, the engine detail is excellent. The lights and grill is simple, but it looks good. The middle; eh, it could use some work, but it is not too terrible. The back; IMO needs some work. I think that with the claws you want to use will be much better. Just in front of the claws is empty, what about a secondary V8? More powwwa Also, if you are really going for a combination of those 3 vehicles, I think you vehicle is too long. The rear tracks could start closer to the back of the seats, then I think the length will look better. Nice job, looking forward to progress!!
  21. It is just like when someone buys a LEGO block collection and there are Mega Blocks mixed in. Same idea. The true LEGO guy does not want those Mega Blocks. I have watched videos people going to a goodwill or salvation army (United States donation centers where you can buy people donated goods and the profit goes to help an organization) and they buy a bag of LEGO, come home sort it out and find that a large portion of the bag was Mega Blocks and they end up donating it back to the store, because who wants that, right?
  22. I know this forum accounts for a very small percentage of LEGO Technic fans, but I do not think any of us will want a fake set. Except maybe for a review or something of that nature.
  23. I am not sure that The Boydell Stomper is a bumpy ride, it looks that way though. Once Doug has a video, we will get a better idea of how the wheels turn and contact the ground. @Doug72 This is for sure my favorite contestant, the contest is all about being wacky and you sure have been successful doing that. Other creation might be cleaner, but that takes away from the wackiness. Nice job sir
  24. This is a very interested conversation. It's not that I am personally comparing sets to their retail value, I just know a lot of people do that. Lately I have been buying used Technic sets, about 1 every 2 months give or take. Sometimes I will buy entire collections if the price is right. The individual sets always come from an adult builder, non smoking household and has taken care of the model. If all these conditions are met, I will buy it for closer to MSRP. For collections, I do not really care what the condition is, for the right price, there could be broken pieces for all I care. I am buying the collection for parts. Also, those parts get washed throughly and then separated. Right now, I am talking to a guy that has a bunch of sets. I am curious to know what his depreciated value of his sets will be. As I do not like giving a over/underestimated value on something I am buying.
