  1. Well, to be honnest, I think the SSD was one of the trickiest model I designed. And I guess this is one of the reason why I work on smaller projects these days.
  2. There are some obvious improvements on the pneumatic system (longer cylinders, autovavle). Personally, I do not dream of those parts everyday, but it still would be a nice addition to the Lego Technic theme. Otherwise, with 2.5/3K part models, the Technic team is more or less facing the limit of the system... Friction became too big in bigger sets, torque of motors may not be enough, etc. Such bigs model may not work properly.
  3. I like it a lot. Very nice color scheme, and it is very carefully built. Great work !
  4. It does look very good ! You worked with an interesting scale. :) 2 things that can be improved IMO : - on the sides, the wings with tubes outside - the brick-built cockpit. I think the final result is weird, especially compared to the rest of the ship made out of plates.
  5. It is fine. ;) And to be honnest, I am pretty convinced that my design is ok. :D Many people built it, and this thread is the only place where I can find people having trouble to make the model stand on his legs. Last week, a builder confirmed that his model was very stable. Even my copy was built 2 years with no problem. There may be something wrong with some of your parts which lost their clutch power.
  6. Believe what you want, I do not care at all.
  7. Curious... Many people have been waiting yellow rims for years, and with your pics, I tend to believe that the model looks better with black rims. ^^
  8. I will take an exemple so you can understand. Imagine you need a servomotor. You can order it on Lego Shop or as a "spare part" in the Customer Service. In the first case, it is like you order a set. The servo is available on S@h, and when you order 8804, you do not order a part, you order a set. Now consider you buy that part through the Customer Service, with part ref 6000566. You'll get your servomotor, but the process is not at all the same. You ordered a part, not a set. Remember : TLG is manufacturer which sells Lego kits. TLG does not aim at selling individual parts. They do it because they have to. But it is not their core business.
  9. Nope. And the answer is pretty simple. Parts from Pick a Brick and Customer Service do not come from the same warehouses. I only use Bricklink...
  10. Let me guess... Given that their purpose is definitely not to do interesting reviews... I would say... Making money with the ads ?
  11. Video reviews ? Also known as "how to waste 25 minutes on a 900 part set". I never watch video reviews... And let's be honnest : everyone knows why people do reviews with Youtube reviews...
  12. So they are just regular pins. Disappointing, indeed. Still, using the panels is a smart trick.
  13. You have some nice designs, Jmagaletta. There is a problem in scale, though. The Venator (about 1km long) is supposed to be much shorter than the ISD (about 1,6km long).
  14. What is this thread ? A joke ? :o
  15. What about creating one ? http://www.bricklink.../wantedView.asp "Add a new wanted list".
  16. It's saying "not numeric". What about putting a "numeric" then ? Use the ID of one of the wanted lists you own. http://www.bricklink.../wantedView.asp
  17. Mine is not built for some time now. But if I remember correctly, the model is very stable when the position of the legs are "crossed". Like on that pic : As far as I can remember, I could also "shake" the model a bit, and there was no problem. The model stands on its legs.
  18. Some pics would be appreciated. Some pics of what parts break, and how you make it stand on its legs.
  19. I read some lines of your review, especially about the (controversial) steering mechanism. And I see one mistake in your review : you write there is no gear (ok), and no reduction. But this is not because there is no gear that there is no reduction. The axis on the servo rotates by 90° in both directions, while the articulation rotates by about 30° on the left and on the right. Liftarm links make the reduction here. On a side note, I am surprised with your "generous" rating regarding the challenging build and the aesthetics.
  20. I am not selfish at all. I have a lot of Lego but very few minifigures (20, maybe), and I do not plan to buy any of these "collector" minifig at anytime. Having a minigif collection that very few people have is NOT AT ALL what I am aiming at. I just find it hilarious that some people are willing to waste hundreds €/$ to buy a collector item that everyone would not care about or consider it plain ugly if it was not a collector item. Here are 2 examples from the last years : https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/564946_393055367430089_645954893_n.jpg http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/4320747554517546655d2368c8c.jpg Another example : some people bought this Azog at crazy prices (500 or 600 €/$ maybe) : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=comcon031-1 And then, it was available in that set http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=79014-1 so everyone can get the minifig for more or less 10$/€. haha.
  21. I dont think so. a) technically speaking, the curved is more or less equivalent to part 15068 + tiles, so it is not THAT new. b) the shape of the Slave 1 is more complexe than this slope. On the brown skirt, the curves are bigger. On the tail, the shape is somehow conical (thinner and thinner), so I am not sure this new slope matches. c) the part is big, and so, make one color on a big surface (if there is no stickers on it of course). I think that the look of the Slave 1 does not fit very well with big parts like that. Anyway, designing a UCS Slave 1 is very tricky. So maybe Lego will come with an innovative solution with these slopes.
