  1. If you ask me, I think the color scheme is neat, he was looking for a toy car look and achieved it very well. A very nice creation indeed!
  2. Yeah, I was lucky enough to find a big hockey set at Goodwill, I think it came with 5 or so. But I think the spring is much too stiff for small scale suspension like that.
  3. Nice review, waiting for those dog bone beams! The color scheme is yellow, not gold, right? If it is, I might just have to buy this as my first HF set. I'm planning on actually making a Bionicle MOC for a change and I need lots of yellow for it. You know, $25 seems decent, but I might just have to use BL...
  4. Awesome, at this scale you can just use rubber bands, unless you consider rubber bands for suspension 'cheating', of course. If you really don't want to use rubber bands, you can use hockey springs.
  5. Meh. I was excited for these sets a few weeks ago, even with great reviews from everyone, now I'm already tired of them... I think I'll be going back to good old bricks and plates now, Technic sets just went down the drain when they introduced studless.
  6. I have discovered that before, very interesting that an old style (light grey) diff meshes perfectly with a 20t gear, how could that not be a coincedence? The old-style diff was introduced in 1980, and the 20t was introduced in 1999, which was 19 (!) years later.
  7. You know, returning about half the minfigures you bought would be pretty suspicious, but feeling a whole bunch of CMF's and staying in the store for an hour might be even more so...
  8. Awesome, I've joined the group! Are you sure you want to use old-style diffs? I think new ones would save space, adding more room for wider suspension while keeping the wheelbase the same.
  9. I might make something to give you a general idea, although I don't have any track links. I'll see what I can do... Wait, just reread your post, how do you remove the turntable?
  10. Have you seen it in a drawing or something else? I'm curious as to where you've seen this piece. Maybe a prototype Technic set?
  11. Yes, but the goal is to get 360 degree slewing, which is the whole point of this topic. Besides cost, I don't see why you shouldn't just use a separate battery box.
  12. Quick question: Is it possible to not have bump steer when using 6.5L suspension arms? I have tried everything and could not avoid it.
  13. How about a separate battery box and IR receiver on the track unit? That way no wires pass through the turntable and the motors are mounted in a realistic way
  14. So are you saying you want two functions through the turntable (left track and right track)? If so, it should be pretty easy. Just use driving rings and clutch gears and pass another function through that.
  15. Does the fourth connector down count as a 'gap' ? I've needed that part quite a few times.
  16. I like post-apocalyptic too, makes me think of the post-ap vehicle by Zblj. I think it's a great idea, it's OK if two different subforums have the same theme for a contest IMO.
  17. So the prizes each day are announced at 4:00 PM? Good luck, everyone!
  18. I think the amount of friction that is in Bionicle joints would suffice. You're right, it's quite awkward trying to get a minifigure to hold anything, especially if it's holding it in both hands.
  19. Amazing review Jim! Toggle joints in blue.. Wow, that worm gear is weird. I wonder why they didn't just make it 1L though, you could just brace it with bushings anyway and it would be pretty much the same part.
  20. Oh, I don't doubt that they work well, the plastic just looks kind of see-through and cheap. Wait, 8421 doesn't even have suspension..
  21. Nice reviews! But I noticed in Sariel's review that the plastic used for the snowmobile suspension arms looks like it is of very low quality.. But hey, maybe it's just my eyes deceiving me. I still can't believe that 'hot rod' is an actual set though... If you ask me, Technic sets went down the drain after 8880... That being said, great reviews guys! Although I would prefer a pictoral review, video reviews are absolutely fine IMO. Actually the functions on the hot rod are really cool, I did not expect pushrod steering or a folding roof! So maybe I was wrong. But it still looks pretty ugly on the outside and the only new parts are the wheels.
  22. Do you have LDD? You need it to open the .lxf file.
  23. Looks awesome, liking the use of antennas in grille tiles for little details. But on the ultrasaurus's neck, that poor 4L bar..
  24. Same as larsyuipo here. I don't know why so many people like the jungle one. I am really excited for this either way though.
  25. Wow, I didn't know you used PF on all of them! You'll be getting my vote! I love the outtakes, especially number 3! Ouch.
