  1. I think I've said it before, but like davidmull said, we need solenoid valves! It would make everyone's life a lot easier.
  2. Awesome entry man! I wonder where you got those old pneumatics...
  3. Wow! I certainly hope you're right about the gear rack part.
  4. I tried that, but that just shortens the steering link to about 5.5L limits the suspension travel and creates more bump steer. Plus, non-parallel steering links cause all kinds of problems. I don't think there's any way to align the links with the odd-length arms.
  5. I'll at least donate. Although I don't think a $5 monthly fee is really all that bad... I honestly don't know why so many people don't want to, it's a privilege to be a member of this forum in the first place, this is the best-maintained and well-run forum I've even known. We'd better be thanking the gods we're not paying anything. Yet. So just my 2 cents. But I understand sometimes money is definitely an issue, I think donations would be the most beneficial for a lot of people. But of course the paid membership could always be optional.
  6. I thought about that too, what extra functionality does that add? I don't get it. Amazing review though, I just wish I actually liked the set...
  7. Themed CMF's? I don't think so. Star Wars, Ninjago, etc. make so much money because people want the minifigs, and to buy the minifigs, you have to buy the sets (unless you know about Bricklink, which probably at least half of the people who buy any kind of Lego don't). Also, I have heard about some quality issues with CMF's compared to normal minifigs.
  8. Maybe. But it is connected to the servo motor's output...
  9. Very nice! Very smooth curves and awesome color scheme. I also really dig those wheels and the use of the surfboard piece...
  10. What obsidianheart said, although there are a lot of things that don't exist in LDD, not to mention that LDD won't accept even the slightest 'illegal' connection. I think it would be a good idea to use LDD for maybe a frame and some of the outside, but I think ordering parts from BL (and using your collection) and then building the details in real life would be a whole lot easier than LDD, plus the experience is much better with real bricks in your own hands.
  11. There's two small cylinders in the service truck? Ah, sorry I was too lazy to look up the set number.. Edited. By the way, what is the other cylinder for? I can't see it in any of the pics on BL.
  12. Congrats, Jed/Tim/Jim/Ted! I'm sure our forum will be much better with another great addition to the group of moderators.
  13. It's actually really easy to adapt the AAA battery box to studless, put 1x8 technic bricks on the top and bottom and attach thin liftarms connecting them vertically. Then it has odd dimensions and more connection options than the AA batterybox (except there are none on the sides. Also, what's that wheel on the front for?
  14. Those tyres are sweet! How much bigger are they than the 94.4 x 44R ones? They make that vehicle look monstrous.
  15. How does it steer? And how does that count as a car? :P That would be a real challenge.
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks, Ben! Thanks for joining the project, too.
  17. Alright, well I guess I can't either. But I was just making sure I got the general point across on what he's supposed to do. I think it would be pretty easy, especially considering he has the Zorex assembled.
  18. I certainly hope we get pneumatics. After this mildly disappointing wave (except maybe the airplane), we (or at least I) need something like D3K's recovery vehicle, not like the two small cylinders and nothing else in 42008.
  19. Alright, I'm done! This can of course be optimized, and the sprocket wheels should be black. Here it is: Unfortunately I don't have enough treads to complete it, but you get the idea. The switch is easy to access: Some structural bracing: And last but certainly not least, a terrible GIF of it being able to slew indefinitely. Aha sorry, I didn't exactly remember to steady my camera with anything.. I know, it's hard to watch
  20. Well to be honest, I'm not that good at feeling CMF bags, so I think being able to know exactly what's in the bag is nice.
  21. Nice entry, great job making the 20x30 tyres actually look good on something. Lots of pneumatics too, I like it!
  22. They go with the flat part facing up, like this:
  23. Congrats to the 2nd round of winners! I hope I'm in the 3rd...
  24. Aargh, I can't believe I bought 6.5L instead of 6L.. Now I have 8 of them, all they're good for is live axles...
  25. Yeah, mechanical things are cooler, what would GBC be if each model was operated by multiple NXT servos? Mechanical is much more elegant than electrical IMO.
