  1. I would gladly get a second castle then MOC one display just for Disneyland and the other for Disney World. If they ever made Sleeping Beauty's Castle as a set I feel it's smaller size could be an advantage. Perhaps they could give it a fully finished back wall in the same price point. Maybe even including Snow White's well and grotto? The smaller size will mean less rooms, but more things on the side could be displayed.
  2. There are some of us who have been getting Lego Star Wars since 1999, but have been limited in funds. When the theme started I was only 5 years old so any sets I got were from my parents or other family members. It really wasn't until a few years ago I had enough money to purchase stuff regularly for myself and even then I still lack the complete ability to buy every single set from an entire year. It kind of gives me comfort to know that in a few years when I am done with college and fully on my feet, that the Death Star will still be on the shelves, ready for me to finally purchase it after eyeballing it since 2008. Even then I agree %100 it is a lazy move on part of TLG. :)
  3. Honestly if they didn't end the film with Luke being delivered on Tatooine as the last shot, the thought that the Death Star scene in ROTS is a few years into the future would actually make a lot of sense. That scene also ads a strange context to the film. Who started construction of the Death Star during The Clone Wars? The Separatists could have, but the thought of the Empire seizing the project and continuing it as is, is very strange. Seeing Palpatine had the plans it could have actually been the Republic that began construction in secrecy. That would have been a great subject for The Clone Wars to have explained, but I don't think they ever did touch it.
  4. Yes MoAS has a smaller budget than the films on this topic...
  5. Olympic Mascots are forgotten after the game? What do you mean I still love these guys! (I did forget their names though... Its been 14 years! Okay maybe they are easy to forget...)
  6. Seeing that Twilight Zone is owned by CCBS, I doubt Disney would license a Lego set which requires them to obtain a second license from another company. Rumors are the CBS license is one of the big reasons Guardians of the Galaxy are replacing the Tower of Terror in California. Still I agree, a Lego Tower of Terror set would be awesome!
  7. Maybe the second was in early production when the first was destroyed? It would make sense Palpatine would want multiple Death Stars if the first was a success. It could even explain the mysterious 3rd Death Star in the original Star Tours (I know it's not canon anymore but I can dream still!)
  8. What the heck? Lego Designers aren't that good? Have you ever seen any of their MOCs outside of their official work? On par with anything a fan could create. The reason Lego sets often look inferior to MOCs is the fact they have to match mass production standards. Lego Designers have the talent to create great MOCs but they have to simplify official designs so anyone could build it, so the talentless noob can open any Lego kit and in a few hours have a finished set. The skill required to design something for mass production is IMMENSE. To know that thousands of copies of the model will exsist and every single one needs to hold up to child's play is a great talent. Also MOC like quality in official sets isn't a new thing at all. Look at any of the Modular buildings (first started in 2007) or some of the classic UCS sets. When Lego is catering to serious FOL's they will design sets on par with many community MOCs.
  9. The one thing I loved about the Latin American characters in MoAS was the chance to practice my Spanish listening skills. I can hardly understand the Columbian woman at all, very different accent from the Argentine accent I am used to. But remember when Mack learned a few Spanish words to speak to the Columbian woman? I understood every single word Mack said. Because that's how an American English speaker actually sounds the first time they speak Spanish. In fact that is probably how I sound when I try and speak Spanish...
  10. An entire Disney Parks collection would be great. I've been dying for Space Mountain or Star Tours to appear in Lego. The Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland would be an excellent display model. The Mark Twain would be an AWESOME display piece, while a Disney steam locomotive could be a great addition to the world of Lego Trains. I hope the Sleeping Beauty castle can also be a set, it's smaller size means it could probably be rendered as a cheaper set ($200 or $250 instead of $300?)
  11. Technically Season 3 of Agents of SHIELD gave us two Latin American superheroes, Joey and that Columbian woman. Both Inhumans to. Oh and Ghost Rider in MoAS will be Mexican to.
  12. There is a brief dialogue line that explains why the alternate universes happened why it didn't occur in PoA: Maybe the time travel plot was a response to the HISHE Harry Potter video? :)
  13. Spectacular! Best luck in the contest, one of the best entries I have seen yet.
  14. The more I think about it the more I want to save money to buy the Death Star set. Is it a lazy remake? Yes. Is it a remake of a set I wanted but never got? Yes. Hopefully it's shelf life is a few good years so I can get it once the funds are secured.
  15. I was afraid the "force perspective" of the real castle and it's size couldn't have been properly rendered in an official Lego set. Every photo I have seen of it has proved that initial fear wrong. Your two photos showing its height has fully confirmed to me this set is awesome.
  16. These things have destroyed countless attempts of mine to raid an Imperial held planet with just a few ground troops and Snowspeeder squadrons... Great MOC!
  17. Sorry didn't see the previous posts. But yeah it is still very strange that it is %90 the same set.
  18. So I just saw the "leaked Death Star" photos on FBTB. Any bets it's a fake or could it be real? I didn't get the first one so I wouldn't mind a rehash but it does seem very lazy...
  19. Remove the 's' from the word "spoilers". Should work then.
  20. Just got an advertisement for it in the mail, a one page brochure. Of course it wasn't addressed to me, it was addressed to my mother... Lego seems to be making a huge marketing push for this.
  21. Maybe it is promotional art for a DVD case or something like that?
  22. Just watched Star Trek: First Contact all the way through for the first time. The Next Generation is my favorite of the TV series, and this film kept the spirit. Still I wonder if the Reboot Films will ever tackle TNG era... It seems they probably will still be able to make TOS inspired films for a few more years; but I really want to see the Enterprise-D or E depicted in the "Kelvin Verse." Enterprise-D meets the Apple Store?
  23. Is it to soon to say I'd like to see Bionicle G3 already? Actually seeing how quickly Bionicle got canned this time around, I am more than willing to wait another decade for Lego to try and revive it again. Also I might have said this here already but it is always worth repeating, a return to Lego Western sets. And one last thing for the wishlist, a proper Train theme. While trains are still being produced as part of the City and Creator themes, a full on Train theme would be highly appreciated. I think modern Lego building styles could lend themselves well to detailed models of actual trains. Here is a sample "wish list" I could see for an actual theme: $200 American Style Freight Train Starter Pack (Imagine the blue City train but a bit more detailed and more focus on rolling stock and not just structures) $200 European High Speed Train Starter Pack $100 American Style small town Train Station $80 American Style Rotary Snow Plow $80 British Diesel Shunting Locomotive $80 Electric Trolley Car and passenger platform $50 Freight Train Expansion Pack $50 Passenger Train Expansion Pack $15 High Rail Pick-Up Truck Just a few ideas...
  24. I saw Suicide Squad a few days ago, my first time watching a film in the DCU (I have not seen BvS or Man of Steel). It was a fun movie to watch, and far better than the critics are making it out to be (seriously some critics are calling it worse than than Fan4astic which is a serious exaggeration). With that said, it was not a great movie and while I was entertained by it, I could still agree it was a bad film. I loved Will Smith's acting and portrayal of Deadshot, he was awesome and could have sported a stand alone film. A few of the characters in the Squad where meaningless and I really had a hard time connecting to a lot of them: The villains where stupid. Enough said. "Building a machine?" WHAT? I think DC needs to do a few things to help their films be better: Don't make films dark for no reason. As many of you have stated above while darkness works for Batman for example, some characters need to be in a more lighthearted tone. Make us care about characters, no more 10 minute montages, show us who they are and help us latch to them. Don't try and rush your films to 'beat Marvel.' Take time to make them right. I have no interest in seeing Justice League because I don't feel like I have had a proper introduction to the characters yet. I'd rather have a great Justice League film in 2019 or 2020, than the current rushing to a film in 2017 that is the current plan. I fear it will ruin the final product.
  25. Yes the mold stamps two flanged wheels and one blind wheel at once.
