  1. Nice idea, and a beautiful build! Love the entrance. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  2. Terrific; great atmosphere, lovely build! I like the sense of activity going on in the scene. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  3. Great job; I like the untypical colour scheme. The black is unusual, buy it works perfectly. Love the coffee machine and the chestnut cart too. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  4. A truely original idea; and well executed. The house fits in with the village nicely. I also like the tree, the reindeer and the snowmen. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  5. What a truely great idea! I love the look and the atmosphere of this MOC. My favourite parts are the fire place and chimney, and decorating the tree. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together!
  6. PR/GG/PS/GE/TH/FB/PC/MS/CC I love PR/GG/PS just for the way they look. All are great builds, and the parts usage and colour schemes just appeal to me. The more detailed interior in PR got it to first place for me. Not too impressed with PC. A nice building, but a bit too out-of-place wrt the rest of the modulars for me. MS is alright, but nothing special, as is CC. Just classics one has to own; and they still look nice amongst the others. I still find GG amazing, especially for its age; both in colour scheme and design. For now, it does not look like DA will be in my top three.
  7. If you need windows, the hinges (either as plates or as bricks, both are available) are usually better. Modified facet bricks come in different widths: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?q=Brick,%20Modified%20Facet Advantage of these is a nice smooth outer surface. You can still combine them with windows in combination with the hinge bricks, but it never looks perfect. Disadvantage is the fixed angle; as opposed to hinges which can, well, hinge It looks like a great project. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing some of your work!
  8. Welcome, dcht, One of the ways is to use four angled plates: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=54383 and http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=54384 To get the right angle of the roof, use a few hinges/rocker plates. For instance 3937 and 6134 or 3938. There are smaller angled plates as well, if necessary. You can use the facade top of 10185 (Green Grocer) as an example. The lxf is here: http://www.eurobrick...525#entry926429
  9. finnbricker, you "crack" me up, man!

We'd like to express our thanks by offering you an exclusive DOUBLE VIP Points day on Monday, 5th January at your LEGO Store, or online at LEGO.com/shop! Your double points will be credited automatically when you make purchases on this day. Check out the exciting new January 2015 Exclusives below that will both earn you double points when you shop on 5th January plus hours of building fun! The "exclusives below" were DA and Slave I; no mention of quantity restrictions, but I assume they will be in place, come January. So, no idea if this date will be the same for the public. I'm just getting it on January 5th
  11. Just got mail from Lego that January 5th is double points day for VIPs who also ordered on Brick Friday early access, November 22nd. The mail suggests DA is available on that date.
  12. Great idea! Lego might want to put the steering wheel on the other side of the car, though Maybe the "ute" could do with a little something on the roof, like a bar and/or some lights? Keep clicking those bricks together!
  13. Great work, I like it a lot. The facade and the entrance look especially nice. Hope to see some interior. Maybe something on the roof to break the straight line in the row of houses (see the last pic)? Airco unit, aerials, maybe a small entrance from top floor to roof? Keep clicking those bricks together!
  14. Friends on steriods!
  15. I love the new graphics; I'm a bit undecided about the new header height, though. It's nice to see a good picture, but it does reduce the space for information, posted pictures and so on. It's about the information, after all, be it text or photos. Maybe it's because I've been developing (web) database applications for twenty years; the more records one can get in one screen, the better. The rest is clutter. Anyway, at least it's not fixed at the top of the screen, so we can scroll it out of sight (but usually I just write a greasemonkey script to hide it alltogether ).
  16. @ Wow, Baltimore and Charleston look seriously MOCable! (Well, in a different colour, of course ) Seriously, they look great.
  17. Oh yeah, Lego 675 Snackbar takes me right back. I just remember it with two 1x2 "ice cream" bricks in the facade. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3004pb005
  18. Just to clear up any possible confusion: I absolutely love PR. And, even though I have my doubts, I know I will get DA as soon as it's released as well. I learned from the past. It's best, believe me. Go with the flow. And congrats to BrickSev on acquiring the set!
  19. And if you really, really hate it: it's still a MUST. Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated.
  20. Just enter the set number while adding a new wanted list in BL; Ah, I noticed you figured it out already. Best of luck! If in Bricklink. you add a new wanted list, you can base this on a set number. 1. Log in on BL. 2. Choose main tab Wanted 3. Choose sub tab Part set 4. Feed in set number 5. Change settings as required 6. THIS IS WHAT YOU PROBABLY MEAN -> Check Set My Minimum Desired Qty for each Item to Qty of Items in Inventory
  21. With an official set, we never start with the ldd; we create a wanted list in Bricklink based on the set number. This is way more relyable than a third party ldd. We had little trouble bricklinking GG (we only buy from Dutch stores). There were a few problem parts (I remember sand green rockers), but we got all of them in the end. This was about 18 months ago.
  22. Or DON'T find a Fire brigade, so you can burn down a few old buildings to create space for DO
  23. Well, I think I have the ideal combination: A wife who is an even more fanatic AFOL than I am, and no kids to confiscate our Lego!
  24. Well waddayaknow! It's a hardware store, and modular and all! I like it. Clean and elegant design; fits in nicely with the 30s theme. Good colour combo with the left building of DA, too. Keep clicking those bricks together!
  25. I really love the atmosphere of this one. Very nicely detailed and well thought out, as are all your creations. Would also fit very nicely in a Winter village setting. Maybe some snow on the roof, and Bob's your uncle! Keep clicking those bricks together!
