SalvoBrick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I have only the first two modulars (corner cafe and green grocer) and I never bought the others since I prefer MOCing, but this one... maybe the best modular EVER! -

This year I celebrate 10 years of Brickville :) I started during summer of 2004, when I discovered Bricklink and I started to order bricks, sets and more. At first my town was a mix of sets and a few MOCs: Today my town is made only of MOCs, and it's in fully modular style. Of course it's always updated: I'll show you more pictures as soon as I can More to come

I always make buildings without any interiors: I'm not really interested in them, since I'm more focused to the apperarence of the whole city, not each single building. Also, building interiors requires tiles and plates I should buy on purpose, and I should use only "1 x n" brick for the walls (while I'm actually using also "2 x n" bricks). And remenber: the original Corner Cafè had no interiors
-
Not at the moment: I've planned to do a separate train layout, but I was too busy to build it, also it requires too much money now, maybe after this summer.

My answers: - I break down a MOC if I don't like it anymore and I need the pieces - If I'm really satisfied, years. If I'm not really satisfied, only a few days - I usually modify a MOC, but if I can't fix it, I destroy and rebuild. If the MOC is redundant (a similar building or vehicle already exists) I break down it and reuse the pieces. I have MOCs that lasts years with little or no modifications, and other ones that lasts only a few weeks. If you think that the new MOC can be better than the old one, break it down!

MOC - modular, modular, MODULAR my first complete one
SalvoBrick replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Town
Ohh a modular! Really nice, considering you do a lot of details, leaving the open back looks... somewhat "wrong". A good idea is adding a removable wall or roof to show what's in the inside, also since your buildings are mostly with only ground floor This building (modular or not) is a good step in the direction of better realism. -
I like it! Exactly like a real kebab shop!
-
Really nice! I would have added more plants, but this way is very good!

Very nice! Even better of the one I did some time ago.
-
It's really well made! Too bad the pumps are in the middle of the road Maybe you could re-arrange it to make a corner one. Anyway,a really cool design
-
Everyone wish to see the inside but I dont' make any interiors since I'm more interested in the outside appearence, but this time there are some interiors. Well, sort of You've already seen my construction site, but there are some updates: Updated crane, updated building, updated toilette the building proceeds, we're starting to build the roof so the walls Even Emmet works here Wondering why Emmet looks so happy... Better view of the crane. Hope you liked

Instead of making several threads for each new or modified modular, I'm going to put here all the updates about the modulars of my town at least fot the current year... Today I'm going to show you the improved butcher's shop: with improved backside More to come
-
Excellent modular!
-
Uhm, as I said before, I don't think I will ever do detailed interiors, except for shops windows: I'm more interested in the outside of the buildings than the inside, also because many walls are made of "2 x n" bricks in order to optimize the bricks I already have: replacing with "1 x n" bricks would be expensive,... Uh, the building under construction is destined to be... a building under construction More details soon

Summer has almost arrived... this means more free time for me to work to my town... Here there is a preview of some updates: more to come soon Seeya soon!
