http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=80473 Here's my entry, I did it just for fun, I hope you like it

This is my first "real" modular, and with "real" I mean with technic holes on the sides, open roof and complete interiors I did it using only spare bricks: the design could have been better, but, hey, I did it for fun! It's a 16-wide, modular service station, done for the "servo showdown" contest. Since I had a old "Shell" printed brick, the gas brand is... Shell :) I already have another bigger service station in my diorama, but this is more detailed. Once the contest will end, I migth tear it down, I haven't decided yet. So, let see the pictures: three figures and a vehicle, plus the station, of course A hippy driving a VW minivan is a classic, isn't it? A picture of the inside Another one Final group picture, I hope you liked

Finished! :) As I've said before, it's my first modular with complete interiors. I did it using only spare parts, so I'm not sure I will add on my diorama. Some details could have been better, but I've used only a limited palette of bricks. Anyway: Inside with shop and bathroom Detail of the bathroom The shop I've had a lot of fun doing this small Shell station :) hope you like it!

Almost finished :) It needs some stickers, but it's almost completed. BTW, it's the first real modular I've done, with open roof and furnished interiors :) (don't expect to see this again for a loooong time :) )

Since I've found the hippy minifig of series 7, I did the classic VW van The minifig can drive the van: (sorry for the blurred picture)

Here's a white-tan version of the red vintage roadster: it's like a late version of the same car model: The two cars together: (I usually prefer 4-wide cars, but for vintage cars and 50's american cars, it's OK to build them 6-wide, since they were huge! )
-
I like them all! Expecially the first two, very inspirational indeed! :)

Something new :) A vintage roadster, a new version of an old vehicle I did some years ago. I did two version with minor modification, I don't know wich one I should keep: versione one: or version two?
-
I like it, simple and complete at the same time.
-
I like the stickers and the general feeling of the road. Very good!

Personally I don't like mixing city buildings with modulars: on the other hand, creator buildings (at least the older ones) can be mixed with modulars: they are both with "closed back" and bigger than city sets

Awesome!

I like this one! Very realistic!

February update with the recently modified buildings: Fire station and fashion store (the tan building) Blue cafe' :) Bookstore, now with a brown facade.
-
I like it! You've united both aesthetics and functionality! It's minifig scale, and I mean it's 6-wide! (well, 7-wide, but you don't notice it very well... :) )

Hello! In my town I had a building with a simple garage door and a "taxi" sign found among some old bricks. This builng was totally uninteresting, so I decided to turn it into a fire station. Actually it's a 16-wide small fire station with a garage door, with a longer back, so I can fit a modified version of the old fire truck: This is the back: As I've said before, it can fit the old 7239 fire truck (without trailer, of course :) ) Fire alarm! The firemen are ready to reach the fire in time and save the day! I will modifiy it in future, maybe I'll do a 32-wide version when I'll re-arrange the town. Future updates will be posted in this thread. Hope you liked :)

Hello! Since when I started to build a whole town, almost ten years ago, I wanted to add a cafe or something similar. Back in those days my town was modeled after the classic city sets, with small buildings, open back and such. It happened that I had mostly blue spare bricks, so my first cafe was blue... It had almost everything you need to do a good coffee, included an espresso machine :) One year later the building gained an additional floor, so I had this: This time there was the chance to order some ice-cream too. A few months later it was changed to something inspired to the classic city sets of the 80's: But it didn't lasted too much. In 2006 I did a larger building, with more floors: This is the basic scheme that lasted since today. In 2007, together to the first modular building, the well known Corner Cafè, I added a hotel to the existing blue cafe: In 2008 I converted all the buildings to a "closed back" standard, but not modular yet. So I had this: Finally I had a recognizable door to the hotel :) In 2009 I changed all the buildings to the modular standard, at least for the building size. The first "almost modular" blue cafe was this one: Even bigger and more details than ever!. Then, some personal issues stopped me to touch Lego for many months. In 2012 finally I had the chance to rebuild almost everything, I moved to a new apartment with more space and converted everything to a real modular standard. This is the first version of the blue cafe: But I wasn't satisfied with the result: so I did a new version, with more details: But once again I wasn't satisfied: too "dark", only black and blue, anc the balconies look too odd. So this is the latest, version, finished yesterday: I've added some light blue details and the building is a little higher. How long this building will stay this way? It's hard to tell, but if there will be updates, I will post into this thread :) Hope you liked :)

Before tearing down to re-use the bricks for other buildings, I did a modified version of the creator log cabin (5766). Our camper has finally reached his destination... So he parks his car with caravan and enjoys a campfire... And some chicken too :) Hope you like

Impressive town! :) Did you used that system for the roads to save space and bricks? Hope you don't mind if I keep some ideas from your modulars. Uh, your cinema is much better than the new modular set :)
-
Good mod! I like it! You could add more details in future.
-
Nope, it's still 4 x 8 baseplates, but I'm planning to increase it in future ;)

Happy new year! :) This topic is for new updates of my town, Brickville. It's costantly changing, even for small details. January updates are for tan building (now a fashion store) and bike store. The gallery is here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=520013 Uh, it has been featured on Brick Town Talk ;)

Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine
SalvoBrick replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
Speaking for myself, I'm very happy with this decision fo some reasons: - I'm a big fan of BTTF, I wanted to do a MOC of the DeLorean but I always give priority to other ideas. Plus, this set wouldn't be expensive, so I'll buy one or maybe two; - even if the western town is excellent, each set would be very expensive, over 100 - 150 € maybe, so I wouldn't be able to buy one. Plus, i'm interested in city, and I could have bought one only to recycle the bricks for town creations - I have no interest for the other sets (expecially videogames characters: maybe because I'm old and I don't play videogames?) So, in my case, this is the first Cuusoo set I'm interested to buy :) -
Nice one! It's a good starting point that you can improve in future, adding more bricks.
