  1. @ Doc_Brown One can't ignore a truly great crawler....
  2. Nice job, but it looks a little weak. I built a clutch that used pneumatics to variable adjust the resistence, it could hold up to a lot.
  3. Nice job, nice suspension, nice looks!
  4. @ Doc_Brown: Thanks! I used two RC motors for drive, an m-motor for steering, and an m-motor for shifting.
  5. I've been doing some more offroading with it, and I have reached a conclusion...The gear range is too great; there is no middle gear. I want to make a three speed transmission, but until I do I changed the ratios so that the low gear is the same (1:15), but the high gear is a slower 1:5 instead of the previous 1:3. It is still fast, but I think it will add to the overall performance. For example, during a trial truck race, there are few flat areas, lots of medium hills and obstacles, and lots of hardcore obstacles. The old high ratio could only handle the flat areas, but the new high ratio is still fast but can take the medium hills as well.
  6. @AndyCW Thank you! Stock battery box, a few issues with overload but not many if seperate reciver per each motor. The final ratio in low gear is 1:15 and the final ratio in high gear is 1:3, so a quite large speed difference, i might want to do a third gear sometime...
  7. More photos to come, but here's the video showing the not-quite finished version working. It has an "off roady" look.
  8. I try embedding it by copying embed code: (<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtcr8hznKBU?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtcr8hznKBU?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtcr8hznKBU?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>) And then once I do that i click the special BB code button, select HTML code and insert this code. It shows the video to me, then won't show it when i post it... it just disappears.
  9. Body on frame, looking good. How do you embed a video into the post?
  10. Hello, I am finishing up the bodywork, and I think i will go with no rear bed, but a rollcage instead:
  11. I love it! Nascar meets rock crawling
  12. So, i did some more work on it and here are some photos of the grill/front bumper and hood. The wheel arches could be improved, and i decided to do a grey/black scheme instead.
  13. Hey, a little update. Body in orange/grey combo, orange cab area and grey bed. Like this:
  14. @timslegos a low gear ratio gives it good offroads, as well as sturdy gear mounts reduce friction. I used a different IR receiver for each rc motor for more power.
  15. So, i finished the buggy in my earlier post, and made I also uploaded a few more photos to bricklink: I also have decided on what i want it to be; a toyota hilux (year 1983 maybe) If you have any good ideas for bodywork etc, please let me know! I want it to look better than my first trial hilux:
  16. As of the two-speed gearbox, i have one in my 2-speed buggy:
  17. @DLuders i read it but i dont have the insert picture button EDIT: I found it. Thank you for the help!
  18. @ Dluders: How did you post the pictures? Ive been trying and cant figure out how
  19. If you follow me on my youtube (http://www.youtube.c...ser/1nxtmonster) you might have seen my RC crawler project. It used 2 RC motors and was quite fast and well performing. You might have also seen my RC rally car videos, they were fast and nimble. However, I want to combine the best of both worlds in one trial buggy package. So after a lot of trial and error, i was able to incorporate a 2-speed transmission into a crawler with RC motors. The ratios are 15:1 (slow crawler) and 3:1 (fast buggy). It is shifted by a mini linear actuator via an m motor. I'll do some more testing, and as usual this most likely isn't the final version. Pictures:
  20. Thanks once again! and ummm, how do you upload a picture? or embed something?
  21. Thanks for putting the videos up! And yep, I'm here at eurobricks!
