  1. Oh? I didn't know they could do that. The ads make it seem like one for $75 or over, not one for every $75. Odd.
  2. I don't generally buy duplicates of a set, but the Black Gate is an obvious exception. If the set isn't an army builder, usually it has a minifigure you don't want more of.
  3. @Just2good: By that do you mean purchasing these at different times to get 3 Jor-els? If in one go, you're only entitled to one Jor-el. "One per person..."
  4. Oh, dear. Old J.R.R. should have written a pronunciation guide!
  5. Especially because the worst ones are always the most common.
  6. The Black Gate may actually be the first set I make a video review of! I haven't made one yet, but I really want to!
  7. Number of Gold found in IL up to 10.
  8. I'd love to see a Batgirl with a yellow inside, black outside cape.
  9. There's no one answer with pronunciations, except for names like Bilbo, Frodo, Arwen, and Elrond. Many of the names have multiple acceptable ways to say it. By the way, I wasn't intending to be insulting towards the accents. I was just pointing out how strong Bjarke's accent was. By "aluminium", do you refer to "A-loo-min-um", or "Al-oo-min-i-um"?
  10. I was thinking it could be used for one of the Gray Sisters in Greek mythology, one of the three hags who passed a singular eye around to share! If only we had a long gray female hairpiece... So it's GON-dalf and ARR-agorn?
  11. Heck, the one I want is the amazingly creepy Mouth of Sauron! The Gate or the Council will probably be my first buys.
  12. I could do with two of Arwen, as the head will be useful for a character I invented. TBS Black Gate review: They are almost better than YCF at LotR reviews, as they know the background (and thus are fans), and also know how to pronounce Sauron (!) They also put the wings on Gwaihir (not a "bird") on correctly. They don't discuss the hidden door, and discuss the combo option in length, though. The other LOTR summer wave reviews they've done are on the "recent uploads" section of their channel.
  13. The Tamina/Leia is really funny. I agree about young Han, too. I envy you as you have the Hoth Han promo.
  14. SMAOG or, I've heard before, SMOHG. The LEGO design videos are also helpful with pronunciations, when you know that stuff like "Sawuman" is just their accent. But then there's "Bofoor" vs. "Bo-fur". Confusing. And before the clip, I thought it was "Killee", not "Keelee" to pronounce Kili's name. I bet J.R.R. Tolkien is laughing at our misguided pronunciation in his grave, along with cursing Peter Jackson!
  15. I disagree. Stickers sealing it is annoying, and I shouldn't have to grab scissors to open a bag easily. The polybags they currently use in sets and promos rip open well, and are overall more appealing. To each their own, though.
  16. Well, in YCF's defense, I thought it was SORE-on initially. Now I know it's SAO-ronn, but I have to get used to saying it correctly.
  17. I saw the clip with the Mouth, as I am a novice to the films, and I gotta say, thank goodness they cartoon-ified the mouth. That is so creepy (and really fake looking ) in the film, so the LEGO-ized version is more tolerable, though the head beneath the helm still gives me the willies...
  18. Yeah, the LR is Armie Hammer. Nice idea, though.
  19. TBS review of the Council: The Angry Bird is the funniest part!
  20. The Padawan's hair was first seen on Princess Tamina from Prince of Persia. I hope to high heaven it's not Leia!
  21. About reviews: Yeah, YCF has good quality, and good opinions...about stuff that he DOESN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT! Rant over. J2G is great, and I personally like to watch BrickQueen's reviews, too. She could technically be considered home-own too, as she's a member here. Sets: Shame the Mouth has a rubber helmet. That wasn't expected at all. The Wizard Battle will be mine if only for the trans-yellow crystal balls and the Eye of Sauron. I wonder if the Cyclops's helmet would line up well enough with it? I don't really think so. P.S. I had no idea that the Mouth of Sauron had hair! I wonder how LEGO got this idea? From PJ and Co. or created it themselves? I really want at least one Gate now, since it looks amazing!
  22. I find LEGO's rubber pieces to be good quality. There's no way Padmé has rubber hair. That's ABS for sure.
  23. Well, I wouldn't know, as the old Yoda I own is the horrible quality one from the Yoda Pen, and that one's head is rubber. I don't know about the one in the sets, though.
  24. Well, before the minifigure was created, no one knew what was under the Mouth of Sauron' s helmet! The decayed folds of skin just freak me out a bit, so he looks better with helmet on.
  25. Got a bucket of old LEGOs in the categories of Castle/Fright Knights, Adventurers, UFO, and Aquanauts. The best parts, to me, were a Willa the Witch/Hubble Bubble (sans dress slope, which I previously had from another bag of random LEGO), a complete elephant, the first dragon (sans wings and tail, which I put dark green versions in), and the UFO Aliens. I am so happy!
