  1. Thanks. Target and TRU will definitely be my first choices. Seems like favoritism to me that the Danish S@H has it.
  2. I have recently taken a shining to this set. However, shop.lego.com lists it as a retired product. I know I've seen it at a LEGO store semi-recently, but am I too late to get it at a LEGO store? Should I try TRU, who has things in stock longer, instead? If anyone has an answer, please help! I don't want to miss it at retail!
  3. Bricklinking pieces to build the old sets...that's quite clever! I always considered a set "gone for good" if I missed it. I never considered that. I have a question about the modulars too. Which to get first? The Town Hall or the Pet Shop? I am irrevocably in love with the Pet Shop (the details like the toilet, and those storm cellar doors!), but I like the Hall, too. It'll probably end up second on the list, but what do you guys think? You could sway my decision either way... I already have the Emporium, but didn't like it as much. As a result, it is slowly degenerating, as I have been taking pieces of it for other models for a while now. For MOCers, it's a terrific parts pack! So that didn't get me into the addiction that is known as Modulars. The PS and TH did. P.S. The price difference between the Town Hall and Pet Shop wouldn't affect my pending decision. I want your opinions about the quality. P.P.S. Sarah-K, if you don't have one yet, I highly recommend the VIP account. It saves me a little LEGO money once in a while, and I like that.
  4. Oops. I forgot all about that topic! Note to self: search for a discussion pertaining to the subject before creating a new one!
  5. I will list reuse possibilities, and for the ones I think will have new parts, I'll say which. Lady Robot: Any female hairpiece in gray/silver Evil Mech: recolored chest armor and helmet from Battle Mech, sci-fi gun of any existing type (there are 3.) Diner Waitress- Waiter tray/pie Scarecrow: Recolored Butch Cavendish hair with brown hat and yellow/tan hair, pitchfork Grandma: Either the Sumo bun in gray or the Queen hair (with tiara hole) in gray Jazz Musician: Black fedora Constable: Totally agree with the black carrot as a club! Barbarian: Shield, spear, or sword Yeti: none Welder: Standard racing helmet as seen in Series 3 Minifigs with new visor Gingerbread Man:None, but I smell a candy cane piece... Scientist: Conical flask Elf: Short legs. May come with speculated candy cane, or a recolored teddy bear to look like a toy polar bear! Lederhosen Lady: Pretzel? Tiki Warrior: Spear, or carrot (brown) and flame as a torch Mountain Climber: Eskimo's hood, ice pick, backpack
  6. I know, right? I don't think that LEGO could have made a better minifigure to exemplify the spirit of the CMFs (Look at that smile!), but lots of people will want multiples and use Bricklink, eBay, or (shudder) steal them from the books at booksellers. I have seen some of the book, but was pressed for time. I plan to use my Barnes and Noble gift card on it, and when I saw it, I wasn't at a B&N. What I saw were the pages of some of my favorite CMFs, and the "Design Process of the Grandpa" spread. I liked seeing the clay model of Medusa. I also recognized one of my favorite LEGO employees, the Lady Behind The New Molds, Senior Model Designer Gitte, from a design process video about the Hobbit theme. I can't wait to get the book and Toy Soldier! With him, Santa, and the upcoming Elf and Gingerbread Man, a Christmas CMF subtheme appears to be emerging...
  7. Sorry, this post is now irrelevant, being merged from a redundant topic. Carry on.
  8. ^Tell us the results! Where'd you get your profile pic of the Mouth and Aragorn?
  9. Towards the spam-filled beginning of this topic, a link was provided, and I got the "No Permission" screen. I don't know if this is what legotrader is referring to, though.
  10. I doubt anyone will have a violent reaction to this! The mod keeps the integrity of the stagecoach while significantly improving its size. I wonder why LEGO didn't do this. Maybe the wheel mechanism, or maybe the film coach actually is oversized! I like yours much better. Great job, Kiel!
  11. Yeah, that was posted a few pages back. Who wants a Spider-Man keychain? Give GameStop something better! At least a civilian Rhodey! P.S. does anyone want to see a Rescue minifigure for the Marvel line?
  12. has been petrified by Medusa!

  13. has been petrified by Medusa. Be careful!

  14. Excellent work, Oky and Kiel. I have an idea for when I get the stagecoach.
  15. No, the trailer for the movie. I wish there was a game, maybe after the 3rd wave of sets. I'm sorry I was unclear and got your hopes up like that.
  16. You're next! HISS! P.S. Like how I changed 8Brick's signature? -Medusa

  17. You're next! HISSS! -Medusa

  18. You're next! HISSS! -M

  19. The Ship Ambush set review was great, though, aside from the minifigs, there isn't too much I find interesting about the set. It looks good, though. Ear Trumpet image fix:
  20. Well, now the question is, "Does Brickimedia say so?"
  21. With two pieces, one could make Óin's ear trumpet: (I apologize for the distortion, it's the tap piece and the cone piece inverted. If you see the Hobbit announcement trailer, it's easier to see the shape of the ear trumpet when it's in motion. EDIT: I have lost the side-by side image I had. With the blasted 3DS, I can't get it. I apolgize for the missing image. It shall be fixed tomorrow. In the meantime, imagine a 1x1 black cone standing straight up. Put a tap piece on it with the base of the tap on the top of the cone. Flip the image and turn it to the left or right 90 degrees, and that's what it looked like. Perhaps deskp could upload an image of this from LDD (where I made the LEGO image and pasted a screen capture of Óin right beside it.)
  22. That back wall is very impressive! While the model certainly won't be built like that, it looks like someone took off the back wall! Excellent job, Missing Brick! I'm also jealous of your Uruk army......
  23. I wonder what variants the dwarves will have in the Desolation of Smaug sets? The Hobbit trilogy is nice, it's a warmer, less dark story in Middle-earth! Can't wait to see the sets with my money flying after them!
  24. I doubt we'll see a Ringwraith. The polybag figure will be connected to the summer wave, so an orc or Undead Soldier are the two most likely possibilities, as they are generic army builders connected to the summer sets.
  25. I would love a Soldier of the Dead poly! That would be amazing! Not hoping for it, though.
