Nice set of MOCs there and an interesting take on some other ideas there too, I'm a bit worried for your minifigs though, with that zombie at the ticket gate they might need a ghost train somewhere in the park... hehe... Great work and happy building

I love this! So much detailing going on everywhere! I am very impressed with the collection of shields you have on the walls etc, that's cool! I also love the balcony section above, really nice detailing up there, and of course the floor is great too, as is the thrown area, The blues work really well there! But my favourite part/s are the windows and the stained glass, great detailing! Awesome job and happy building

Another great train there, and again very close to the original which is very hard to do! The detailing you have managed to fit in is very inspiring. Fantastic work and happy building

I saw this on flickr and forgot to comment, so I will here I love the pizza shop MOD, It really fits in well with the original set I think. Man, pizza is expensive in LEGO city tho I look forward to more, happy building

Wow I like the colour scheme, the white and dark red work really well and the chrome is a nice touch! All your builds are very good! Keep up the great work, happy building

Well this is very nice too, I can't decide which is my favourite though... I like the design of both and having the sections that can pull out are an excellent feature! Happy building

Welcome to EB, and no one will hold being from SA against you This is an amazing train MOC, you've done a wonderful job capturing the look of the real train. I will echo many others and say the decals are amazing. Great job all in all, happy building

, Haha, yeah maybe I should change one of the shutters there. And I hope the ghosts have nice or they will get coal! Thanks, and when I add it to my layout it will have the same sidewalk as the rest, I just didn't have an light bley tiles at hand when I took the pics

This is a wonderful layout as mentioned you have managed to fit so much detail into a relatively small layout which is great! I love the farm and the miniature train displays but my favourite feature is the pond, very well done! Great team effort and happy building to all involved

Thanks for the feedback. I must admit I was a little unsure how to finish the hill off, and so just put a few rocks above the entrances, but your suggestion certainly makes a lot of sense. I have a few spare slope bricks so I will see what I can do with them to make a little higher.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it helps when it's all positive But I'm glad it's well received as it spent a lot of time unfinished and I eventually put my fist through the first attempt at the rock work because it was annoying me But luckily the second attempt was much more successful and I'm very proud of it. Building landscaping is much harder than it seems!! Thanks again

Thanks to all for the comments, glad you all like it You'll be pleased to know I only had buy/use about a dozen extra pieces that weren't in the original set! The baseplate was the most expensive piece and the rest are mostly hidden on the side walls. And I ended with a lot of left over bricks including some of the larger plates

Winter Village: Winter Village Coffee Shop (contest entry)
timmyc1983 replied to CardinalBricks's topic in LEGO Town
Very nice looking bookshop and I'm amazed at the amount of detail you have fitted in the 16 x 16 space, well done!! It does indeed look like a cosy place to warm up after a day of exploring the market!! Good luck and happy building -
Really nice converted warehouse, the type of place I'd love to live in real life... But if I were a minifig I would put my LEGO layout in the attic, it looks like a perfect space for that Anyway, good luck for the competition and happy building

He is going to learn to stay away from the sewer the hard way!! Great MOC, happy building

Wow, that's an awesome space you there, you've done well! And those tables look great. They really put my not so level home made shelves to shame And your town is really coming together nicely! I look forward to further updates, happy building
-
Well, I like the colour combo, it's certainly something different, but I think it works! And yes the interior details are very good, the beds are top shelf! Great modular, happy building

Paid Membership with perks? Any interest?
timmyc1983 replied to Siegfried's topic in Forum Information and Help
There seems to be very split opinion about this. And I echo what others have reiterated: I don't think it's ever been on the table that to be a member you HAVE to pay... The discussion is about how much you would be willing to or how much you think would be fair for membership fee on top of your current membership. I didn't even notice there were ads on this site until I read this topic so they certainly don't bother me. Having said that, I think a 'premium' paid membership with perks is a great idea. Things like contests only open to subscribers etc would be great. Another site I frequent has subscriber members (of which I am one) and you get a little black box saying 'subscriber' under your avatar, people wear this proudly as it shows their dedication to the site. So I would definitely pay $5 a month or $60 a year for a premium membership. And if possible you could let people decide how they want to do it ie monthly, quarterly, yearly. This way people who don't want to/can't afford/don't like the perks don't have to pay but still get to use the site, whereas the subscribers can wear their badge with pride A donation button is also a good idea and something that the non-subscribers can use to support the site too. But I must admit I would forget to donate, so personally this wouldn't work for me... Anyway, just my 2 cents -
Hello Train Forum This is my first new topic post in the Train Forum, although some of you may have seen me around the town forum a lot. Anyway, I wanted to share my train tunnel I have made for my layout. You may remember about a month ago I was asking about tunnels and looking for inspiration. Well I finally designed and figured out what to put on top of it... This is my first go at any sort of real landscaping. I have yet to test a train running through it as my layout is a bit of a mess at the moment, but I tried to allow plenty of room around the curve for clearance and most likely the only train I will run through it is the red Passenger train anyway. On top of the mountain is a ruined building, as you can see this area isn't visited very often, hence the plants going wild! I will hopefully test the tunnel in the next couple of days and get a video of it in action and of course will post it here once I do Comments and critiques encouraged
