WANTED] Many Different Star Wars Minifigs
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
New picture with stuff I'd be willing to consider trading. The bags contain BrickWarriors items worth around $60 when combined. -
Edit: Actually, never mind - I thought I recognized the scene & movie but no.

Thanks for the feedback, all! I've decided to include some plates in old dark & light grey in my BL order, and will likely only be using them for specific weathered spots. By that, I don't mean tossed around at random here and there, but - for example - if I were to build a wall in dark bluish grey and wanted some kind of spot or mark of weathering, I would add some old dark grey plates and add it to the wall to add some kind of "splatter" to the wall in old grey, a specific spot of weathering, if you understand what I mean. Other than that, as has been suggested by some, mixing the greys with colors such as dark tan as well as using textured pieces will also definitely come into play, so thanks for the suggestions, everyone, and any other ideas are, indeed, still welcome.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, I certainly cannot wait to build an army of these First Order troopers. Those look great, and the snowtrooper has - like I thought - a kama to complete him. Also, wouldn't your contact be able to just take a picture of all of the TFA figures? Would be nice... -
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! Makes me even more excited to finally *really* be back to the world of LEGO & MOCing! Thank you! I'm very glad to hear that! I'm looking forward to creating many more scenes in the future.

I was wondering what you guys think of this matter. I was planning on purchasing several old grey pieces to go along with my new grey pieces in certain MOCs. I'm planning on doing this for Star Wars MOCs, because one of the aspects of the Star Wars aesthetic is the weathered and used look that things tend to have. But I'm not so sure if that would work too well for it, perhaps it would look bad and maybe I should just have, for example, new light bley with some new dark grey or just other things to make it look weathered rather than using old pieces. What do you think of this? Do you think it would or could work really well, or that it's just not-done, looks bad and that I should stick to one shade of grey? And if so, why? Or would you actually encourage something like that for what I'm planning to do? If anyone has ever tried or done it themselves, feel free to share the results!

That was fantastic. I just love seeing the way they're using so many practical effects, too, even though they keep saying that... oh well. This is bound to have a great feel of its own while maintaining that of the OT, and I'm very glad they're pouring this amount of love and care into it. I'm just really hoping for all the upcoming Star Wars films to be the same. I already want to make customs of some of those aliens! But all in all, really great footage and I'm looking forward to the film very much.

I don't get the absurd pricing for the Sith Infiltrator... there aren't even any new molds in it. -
Think I may be able to do either of the two! But that's all planned for the far future, as I'll be moving on to my main theme again, after this.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That Rey figure is awesome. The headpiece does seem to be a bit big, and I'm not sure if the goggles can be removed, but overall, a great figure and it's a sign of more good things to come. Is there any chance this person has more of the TFA figures? It would've been really cheap of them had they re-used an existing head for a main character, but luckily, it very much seems to be a new one. It also looks nothing like Endor Leia's head, as you can see below - instead, the head on the TFA figure looks more like the real Rey than any other head, so it must be a new one. This is Endor Leia's head: "seems like" It was all about the way you said it and the context in which it was used. Of course, I realize that's what it is - though I'm no set collector and use it as a much preferable alternative to model building, so in my case it's not at all a toy, but really just a highly sophisticated, interlocking brick system ( ) - but it came across as something that one of those unholy, non-LEGO people would say to respond to one of us in a mocking manner. But that's probably because of the tone of voice I imagined along with it in my mind, so no hard feelings, there! -
He's great when it comes to doing impressions. As an actor, you need to be able to stand on your own with lines and scenarios that have never been covered by the previous actor before - and we don't know if he would be able to do that very well at this point.

LEGO LotR - general discussion
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really don't see how removing the named characters from the Black Gate set would've given us any benefits. Did you really want to see more of those re-used orc figures, of which we've seen so many by now that they've started to look bad? I don't think they would've gone through the effort of giving us new Rohan soldiers, either, and Gondorian soldiers still would've been doubtful with the Mouth of Sauron removed. -
Thanks everyone! Glad you like it. If anyone here happens to have any ideas for future Wild West MOCs I could make, do tell! I'd like to hear them. I've been thinking of something with a gold mine or Mexican things, but nothing overly specific yet, so suggestions (specific or not) would be welcome, as well as general things you'd like to see. Thanks! Do you mean both of them? The first one was a scene and the second one was edited to look more old western movie-ish, but I see where you're coming from, so I've decided to add a few more unedited pictures to the first post that were initially rejected. What do you think of those? I've had this camera for a little over a month now so I'm still experimenting with things and what kind of lighting works best for MOCs (and certain scenes) in general, so feedback or suggestions are indeed welcome.

That weapon has always looked ridiculous to me, especially scale-wise. I wonder why they gave it to goblins - I mean, come on, you've got to be at least an orc brute to wield that thing.

I would like to see the olive green grass stalk piece in cheaper sets and, preferably, the PAB walls. They would be fantastic for MOCs and it's great they're finally being made, but it's a shame they had to be put into a large & expensive set. As for entirely new colours, I would also like to see the same piece in dark green and in reddish brown and possibly dark brown.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The fact that the sets will be released in two months means that we'll probably be seeing pictures soon, SDCC or not. The big Ninjago set was announced yesterday, so the normal sets of other themes will probably have their pictures pop up fairly soon. Yes, that. Really though, sometimes it seems like certain people on here don't even approve of their own hobby... -

They should at least give us pictures for the normal TFA sets, then, since they'll be released in 2 months... -

Hmm, looked somewhat flesh-y to me... but it's probably just the lighting. -

Wait, is that what I think it is? A flesh minifigure in a non-licensed set? -

200 sounds quite good, but I would, of course, prefer 2000! But indeed, without being available in multiple sets or PAB walls, the prices will probably be a bit steep compared to those of their regular green counterparts. -
[QUESTION] Modifying Colors of Pieces
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Looks like the future alternative has been beaten by LEGO themselves... http://www.eurobrick...751_box1_na.jpg That's a real picture, not edited or anything - we really are getting official olive green flower stems! So, in other words... wish granted. The only thing that remains to be seen is the pricing on Bricklink... let's hope they'll appear in more sets, because otherwise we will still actually need a (cheaper) alternative after all. -

Olive green grass stalks!!! Must.. have.. now.. I'm actually seeing this right, am I? No funny hallucinations and stuff? I express my wish for olive green flower stems one year and in that same year, they're introduced! Magic! Pure magic! -
Purist Star Wars Figures

Looked that one up and I'd say that one would be better, yeah.
