  1. That is... an interesting choice, yes. I'm a bit skeptical here, especially when they're saying "We promise to take risks", and that is not just because of the risk-taking itself (which is at times more welcome than just playing it safe) but because I don't want them to turn it into some kind of modern comedy thing or something unfaithful to Star Wars... At least, I hope it will not resemble things like "21 Jump Street" in even the slightest. And at least they're pledging to be "faithful stewards". I'm also fine with the fact that they're especially making movies and content centered around these beloved characters... for now. Eventually, they're gonna have to invent new characters for these stand-alone films (I'm personally hoping for some Old Republic stuff once the sequel trilogy is done), without continuously leaning on already-beloved characters and things (other than the feel & aesthetic) from the Original Trilogy.
  2. Nice to see Hoth rebels that are more accurately colored. At this point, I'd like to start amassing armies of the most recent versions of all Imperial and rebel troopers. Any tips on how to do that effectively? That aside, an update for K-3PO is very welcome at this point, and I'm also glad they've ditched the overdetailed Luke face.
  3. I'm sure this new theme will bring in some useful & nice pieces.
  4. I went and completed the figure so you can see what he looks like with the torso you mentioned, as I happen to have it. http://oyster.ignimg...15/06/brask.jpg As for Rex from 'Rebels', this is probably the closest I could get: http://i.gyazo.com/2...caa030aa425.png
  5. SWTOR figures added to my wants, also need more than one Jabba now.
  6. Well hey, at least it's something new. We've had so many regular castle themes in the past decades, so this could be nice for a change. But we'll see...
  7. Or perhaps Chima's Galidor Ninjago Friends Castle Kingdom II?
  8. Thank you for the kind comments, both! Glad you like it. No worries, it'll probably dry up in the burning sun! The weeds are from AltBricks, a company that produces pieces for MOCs in colours that don't exist in LEGO sets. They are are available in medium dark tan and tan (though I've asked for weeds in new colours, and those are probably coming as well). The cactus is olive green. Thanks again! I already have a possible future Wild West MOC in mind...
  9. San Diego Comic-Con starts in about a week.
  10. Thanks everyone! I was already hoping somebody would notice that's a tumbleweed - thanks!
  11. I'd just go for a movie still if I were you. After all, it is called "Guess that movie", you know.
  12. Cool! Reminds me of those chest-monster-things from Dark Souls, only with shorter limbs.
  13. Yes, Bricklink is the way to go, but beware, for you might soon be calling it 'Cracklink' like some of us already do. When the inevitable day comes on which it will have begun emptying your wallet, you'll know when it's time to refer to it by its alternate name...
  14. Just wait for the LOTR items that will be spawned by 3rd party vendors, they'll be better than any official LEGO alternatives.
  15. "A lone Indian chieftain wanders the desert, evading the clutches of the ones who murdered the rest of his tribe in cold blood..." Extra pictures (added July 9th, 2015): ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It's been a while since my last MOC was made, and I haven't ever made any real Wild West MOCs before, so I decided it was time to put an end to both of those things. The MOC picture was edited to make it look and feel more like an old western movie - thought that'd be a nice touch. Enjoy, and C&C is welcome as always!
  16. I have received a response from AltBricks, saying that they were considering those colours for grass stalks for their (now previous) factory order, but ended up having to abort that - however, I was also told that they might get them in those colours the next time they order parts from their factory, so let's hope to see some grass in awesome new colours by then! I'm certainly looking forward to it.
  17. Awesome, thank you! I'll start attempting something using that one of these days. Handy indeed, thanks! Where did you get those LEDs from?
  18. I was thinking the other day, and I realized I've never really been able to find a chat room for AFOLs and older LEGO fans alike. So I was wondering, could it be that there is a fairly active one that currently still exists, or is there nothing like that anymore?
  19. Not so much a purchase, but two days ago I received a Darth Revan polybag from a trade. After a year of searching, I finally have it! Wonderful figure.
  20. This sounds like the way to do it to me, thanks! So after seeing this reply, I decided to get myself some of those leaded LEDs and the resistors. I should be able to find the rest. Do you happen to have a tutorial or know of a tutorial somewhere so I can see how to do it effectively? So far, I've only found videos in which the LEDs were put very closely near one another, and what I'm really looking for is a way to be able to spread out the LEDs over an entire MOC - so longer wires, and all of them very separate from one another so I could, say... put one LED light in location A, put another in location B, 30 studs removed from A, and then another one in location C at a distance of 50 studs. No matter how easy it might be, I would prefer not to accidentally mess it up in any way, so a link to a good tutorial showing how to do what I described would be much appreciated! Oh, and by divided wires, I mean something much like this: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Power-Functions-Light-8870 Those seem like good options as well, thanks! I'll have a look at those, too, and I'll keep an eye out on your stream. I'd be interested in seeing that.
  21. Yes, this is indeed affecting children on global scale. LEGO is creating unrealistic body standards. Girls will grow up believing they'll be able to jump four meters into the sky when they're grown adults. This will eventually result in mass disappointment for each of these children. On top of that, ninja academies will also see a decrease in male participants as a result of little boys giving up their dreams because of semi-feminist indoctrination. And no, this reply is not serious.
  22. Far right, I'd say.
  23. Before I start writing the first few chapters of the story, I would like to hear some more opinions about the ways of presenting it on EB and other sites, as shown in the first post. Any other advice would be more than welcome, I'm still trying to find handy tips to incorporate into the project.
  24. I assume the final snowtrooper will have a white kama as well - that would really complete the look of it.
