  1. Another one... Lepin using my images by Sebeus I, on Flickr
  2. Perhaps you are referring to this little thingy? [/url]
  3. Thank you Yep, all drawn with a brown pencil, only did the front of the square sails though.
  4. Rigging and sails added, this ship is now finished. See first post for updates.
  5. Yes, I'm planning on finishing this ship first and then I'll take some pictures .
  6. Yep, sides are tilted, I'm quite pleased with the result, compared to my earlier ships this one has a much more subtile transition. Combination of cheese slopes, hinge plates and an ofset on the right places did the trick. You might want to check out the building instructions for the Imperial Flagship (6271 the old one), you'll find a very interesting playing feature . One day perhaps, I can be very stubborn about these things . The quarter deck does get a little bit thinner near the stern, like half a stud. But it's mainly due to the used building technique for the angled sides, because the ship is quite flat lengthwise there's only little difference in width throughout the length of the ship. You don't have that (or atleast not as much) with Captain Greenhair's frigate technique. I might not go into costum mast building soon but I will get into costum hull building in the near future. Ofcourse in between I'll take it easy and do another prefab . As I overlooked some...details...I am yet again in need of a ship, got to get building. Oh and I still need to put some proper sails on this one!
  7. The stickers are from a Chima set 70123, I found more sticker sheets in Maxim's collection but that one is particularly suitable for stern decorations . She does have an interior, Il'l add some pictures of that later.
  8. Well done, glad to have been an inspiration for you to equip some rigging . Fancy warship, great to have in on Oleon's side!
  9. The Raging Fire is finished, now under full sail . The Raging fire! Built for speed, she started her life as a merchant ship but it was later fitted with more cannon ports, giving the ship a capacity of 22 guns. The Dancing Ember is a ship of the same series, there's one more coming in this line. Below are pictures prio to rigging and sails. Just like the Dancing Ember I started this ship at Maxim's, using his collection. But eventually I was seduced into buying the WIP from him so I could continue to build at my home. I didn't bother to do sails yet, I will add those later. I'm a bit short on parts to really finish the ship and since it might take a while before I do I decided to put it online already. I can't wait because this ship is needed for a special operation (in BOBS). Overall I'm quite happy with the ship, it shows a lot of similarities with the Beatrix. Although it does not share some of the functional features (working capstan, light in cabin, ) It does have some improvements on the esthetical part. I think I can say that this must be one of my finest so far. Built on white prefab hull pieces with partially brick-built stern to get a better shape on the aft. She carries 22 cannon, classified as a light frigate or corvette. Color scheme consists out of a tan gun line with dark and olive green for the upper walls and pearl gold for ornaments and decoration. The stern is enhanced with stickers from some Chima legend beast set. There's an interior but due to the rigging it's not very practical to access so forgive me for not having pictures of that. Apart from the sails and rigging this is 100% LEGO. Any more questions? feel free to ask ;)
  10. That was a very fun day and I agree that the Batavia is a fantastic replica. It's really awesome that one can freely walk around on every part of the ship, toy around with the capstan, etc. Awesome .
  11. As the Island of Windfall is slowly but steady growing into a lively town, people have been opening up shops. One of these People is Alfredo, the other inhabitants of windfall tend to call him the Gatekeeper. But that's mainly because he happens to live in the gatehouse, he's not an actual gatekeeper. ...Although he does keep an eye out for shady characters entering Windfall through the main gate. In this sense he might as well be some kind of gatekeeper. (Alfredo is the grey-bearded character) Anyway, Alfredo is an old geezer, his days of wild adventures are over. He now spends his days using his extended experience to correct and draw sea charts. When it comes to maps, Alfredo is known to be most accurate. Countless cruises through the Prio Sea have earned him a valuable knowledge about the geography of the area. That brown door is Alfredo's front door...his only door as a matter of fact. The gatehouse is one of the smallest houses on Windfall but Alfredo finds it to be big enough for his needs. Most of the time he's outside, selling his charts or conversing with fellow Windfall inhabitants. - - - - - - - - I hope you like it, there's more to come later. This Island is consuming a lot of resources and time but I'm happy to finally be able to present something.
  12. Nicely done! I like the side-fins for stability, those access hatches to the lower living quarters look fancy .
  13. Very nice Maxim, It looks even nicer in person Begging? I was not begging for that building, I said I was interested. On the other hand, I was begging for a fancy lookout tower on top of my property! Where is it Maxim?! Where is it?!
  14. This thread encompasses all builds within Windfall, on the island of Stéphanique Name: Windfall (Island) Ownership: Nation of Oleon Location: Stéphanique (Prio Sea Area) Mayor: Sebeus I Who can own property in Windfall: Maybe later Who can freebuild in Windfall: Maybe later Flag: Map: Description: One of Oleon's first settlements on the Island of Stéphanique was founded on the small Island within the large bay characterising Stéphanique. The discovery of a small Island within the great bay. Since the discovery the construction activities have been going on non-stop. Oleon is building a town here that will last. (See Colonisation of Windfall) Builds on Windfall Island: Artisan: The Gatekeeper: Alfredo's sea chart shop Forts: Saber Fort: Small fort located on the northern side of the Island (licensed) Forts in protection range: Fort Henri: Medium fort located in Lavalette Vessels stationed here: Dancing Ember: Class 2F Cutter, licensed Note: This settlement is a little bit different from most other settlements considering the Island itself has been build already. This means that freebuilding on Windfall will only be possible if you come over at my place to do so.
  15. Thank you for the nice feedback. Yep, I used pretty much all of it on this fort. I got them as a present when I attended LegoWorld two years ago. I only have 1x4 and 1x2 bricks, 1x1 plates, 1x4,1x6,1x8 arch bricks and 4 castle wall panels so the possibilities are limited but it turned out fine. I can't do any bigger fort in that color unfortunately. I may keep the fort for somewhere else. PS: I used them earlier for the Oleon Introduction tread:
  16. At the most northern point of Windfall Island stands a small fort... Saber_Fort_1 One of the first constructions at the Eye of the Bay. Windfall is now able to accommodate troops. Saber_Fort_5 Saber_Fort_3 Saber_Fort_2 This is only a temporary construction though. I intend to completely revise the northern cliff of the Island (I want it to be a cliff, not the low plateau that it is now).
  17. (November) The Colonisation of Windfall Island | Sebeus I | Oleon
  18. Oleon has begun the construction on the Island Stéphanique. Stephanique has one very large bay, which is actually kind of a river delta. iIn the middle of the bay lies a small patch of land. That piece of land was the latest destination of the Beatrix on what might be her last expedition under the command of Captain Sebeus. Making land... After some exploring in the waters around the Island (looking for suitable docking area's) the construction began. A temporary harbor was set up to allow ships to deliver manpower, supplies and construction material. It is certain that this project will consume a lot of time and resources but let's hope it will be worth it.
  19. Nice summary Maxim, also thanks for reminding me that I still have to post my Island There will be even more going on on the layout in Antwerp .
  20. Nicely done, you're not the first one to use my design as a base for own work, it probably was my only LDD MOC I was ever satisfied with . I like your version a lot, I still intend to build my design in real bricks some day, I have gathered some of the parts already. I may use some details from this one when I get to it. Thanks for the credit, much appreciated .
  21. Cat B: The Dancing Ember | Sebeus I | Oleon PS. difficulties seemed to have been resolved, I'm back online, yeah!
  22. Protecting a treasure fleet is no easy task, a valid strategy is to use a great number of small fast sloops to distract and exhaust large battle ships in order to give some space to the treasure carrying-ships. One of those sloops is the Dancing Ember, originally built in an Oleon Shipyard but for a time they have been going around different factions as well. Interesting fact; This sloop was built at Maxim's place, with his lego (that also explains why it eventually became an Eslandolan vessel ). Anyhow, I had fun building it and I must say it's one of my finest at this scale.
