  1. LEGOWorld 2015 Utrecht

  2. @Michaelozzie: Thank you, For those who are still in doubt, this is the map of the enitere layout of which this will be part of: Layout_Final by Aawsum MOCs Lego, on Flickr
  3. A little less than a week to go I am ready
  4. I am very please to announce the layout has been finished in time for LEGOWorld Utrecht (which I recommend visiting) Done! by Erwin, on Flickr For more pictures visit the Flickr Album, or visit the layout in real life :P
  5. Thank you Thank you, I am a bit behind on making pictures of my trains, so I will take some proper pictures of them when the layout is finished. Thank you very much You should get to The Netherlands one time so we can run your 8steam) engines on the layout. Thanks =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Today's update My LUGbulk order arrived yesterday, so I could finish the grand curve and the corner. Now the only thing left are the turntable and some small buildings. Layout update 27 september by Erwin, on Flickr Layout update 27 september by Erwin, on Flickr
  6. @THERIZE: The turntable did not move as smooth as I wanted with an engine on top of it.
  7. It looks great, but what is the motivation behind the weird texture on the roof? If you just place 1X4 tiles and bows you can change it to dark brown to get the colour difference with the windows.
  8. It looks great, for the streetside a big sign with 'Bricksby station' on red or blue.
  9. The engine looks great, and considering the amount of electric stuff inside, it looks even better The wagons have a great shape and resemble the prototype really well.
  10. Oh wow, this one looks great, for the driver problem, perhaps it is possible to paint the flanges black to make them less visible?
  11. Update time! It has been a while since I updated my progress over here. But since the last update there have been quite some additions to the layout. Work in Prodgress update 20-0-2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Work in Prodgress update 20-0-2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Update 10 September WIP by Erwin, on Flickr Update 10 September WIP by Erwin, on Flickr And an upgraded turning mechanism for the turntable. Update time by Erwin, on Flickr And now back to building, just 31 days left untill LEGOWorld Utrecht 2015 so I have still plenty to do. And as always, comments, critics, verbal abuse and suggestions are welcome and more photo's on Flickr
  12. I am not intersted in buying such set myself, but when you get it as a gift and there is such a high demand that the price goes insane. This would place the receiver in a doubtfull place, because opening it would destroy hundreds of euro's of which you can buy much more LEGO, but then you have to sell a gift. So in my opinion collectors spoil the fun of receiving such set.
  13. I am through the commision so I'll be there
  14. The problem I have with collectors is they drive up prices of collectible sets you sometimes get at events, I have never had one of thos but when I do I will end up in doubt because you have a couple of options: A. You sell the set and buy loads of Lego instead B. You keep, open and build the set. I would prefer B, but when prices go sky high like 400014 I pefer buying lots of other parts for profit, but then the issue of selling a free gift of appreciation pops up. So curse you collectors for making this happen.
  15. L@go: are you going untill sunday or saturday? Are there any other non-dutch builders going? I am currently waiting for reponse on my/our group layout. When we are allowed, my module will be there the whole period and my personal presence depends on how my study goes at that time. Other participants in the layout are Alois, Aawsum, moos, Vliebricker and Wilbert306. So I am getting quite excited.
  16. That is looking great, little things like this make a layout come to live
  17. @Zephyr: - a sanding tower was also suggestef by someone on Flickr but to be honest, I have no idea what that is and how it looks. - thank you, the flex track is because of the half straight track which is needed there, my budget is too small to cut a straight piece of track in half. I will add some conductive tape on it. - the hard work is what makes it fun :) and it will be sad that will be taken apart, but having to buy all my bricks again because I don't have anymore is also sad. @Gabor: Thank you!
  18. Thank you, the mess serves a purpose, hiding the crack from the angled floor. Thank you (please don't quote the post with images) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Update time again Layout update 24-06 by Erwin, on Flickr This update inludes: - Landscape around the roundhouse - A small side track The small side track is very WIP, so much I am not even sure what it will end up being Layout update 10-6-15 by Erwin, on Flickr There is a small sand patch witch covers a big deal of the track. Layout update 10-6-15 by Erwin, on Flickr The roundhouse's foundations are placed today, Layout update 24-06 by Erwin, on Flickr It is so colourful Layout update 24-06 by Erwin, on Flickr Much better as you can see the roundhouse is still far from finished, this is mainly because I ran out of transparant bricks and I am not quite sure how to solve it, don't worry I won't scrap it just for this reason. Layout update 24-06 by Erwin, on Flickr View from the other side, the grey/yellow thing is a place holder for a future shed which still has to be built. Layout update 24-06 by Erwin, on Flickr Still to do - Build small shed - finish roundhouse - finish turntable - finish mainline - finish storage tracks around turntable - finish more landscape - add vegetation and details - wait for LUGbulk order As always, more pictures on FLICKR, comments and critiques appreciated. PS. The layout will probably make it's public debut (and perhaps last) on LEGO World 2015 Utrecht.
  19. I live in Zwolle myself and I prefer Utrecht, the venue is much better. Temperature, acoustics and generally everything is better there. Zwolle (ijsselhallen) was (still is) a place which was build to trade cattle indoors. Utrecht (jaarbeurs) is a building that is build to house events like Legoworld.
  20. I will probably attend with my module in a group layout.
  21. Thank you Zephyr1934. Thank you, this is my current solution, it sadly won't open. The big doors on the front is something I'm not sure about how to solve that. Roundhouse update 22-5 [outside] by Erwin, on Flickr Thank you. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Some update photo's: Roundhouse update 22-5 [interior] by Erwin, on Flickr Roundhouse update 22-5 [interior] by Erwin, on Flickr More pictures soon (hopefully ) And the full set on FLICKR
  22. Thank you, a brickbuild door could be a option. Thanks I will first finish this bit of layout, and when that is done I will see what's next. It is/will be part of group layout so there will be a full loop when it's done but that will probably not be before August. Planning by Erwin, on Flickr Thank you, if there is no angle, it wouldn't be a roundhouse right?
  23. First the update from a few days ago: The second storage track for the turntable and the last track module. Today's update (17-5-2015) by Erwin, on Flickr Today's update (17-5-2015) by Erwin, on Flickr I restarted the roundhouse, I couldn't get it working without having to couple all baseplates. So I decided to build the entire building as a standalone model. When that is done it will be placed on tiles in the layout. Just another brick in the wall by Erwin, on Flickr There will be 2 maintenance pits, one deep and one a little more shallow. The center part currently untiled will be the main working area containing a couple of storage shelves, working benches and random tools. Just another brick in the wall by Erwin, on Flickr For the building itself I'm trying a "not exactly new anymore"-look. The tan area is a window replaced with a wooden plate and a fan. The last window is broken. I am not quite sure what to do with the door, it looks to new/modern. Comments and critique is welcome!
  24. The modules will be 1x1 and 2x2 baseplates depending on its place in the layout. Sorry not even yet. And it will probably not be done before late August. ====================================================================== Here is today's update, sorry for the long wait. Layout update 06-05-2015 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr Layout update 06-05-2015 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr It is not very much, but I started on the roundhouse. @Marook: Layout update 06-05-2015 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr Layout update 06-05-2015 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr The red pin connects to this and turn quite slow, but there are still some bugs to fix.
