  1. This sounds exciting, I'll try to make something too.
  2. Thank you both I have made a short video where it pulls a six carriages long consist with a total length of 2,5 meter: NS 1217 in motion by Erwin, on Flickr And a picture of the train: NS 1217 in motion by Erwin, on Flickr
  3. Wow, for such a small scale you captured the details really well
  4. Thank you, the details were a bit of a pain because there are not that many on the real one, so every detail I could find had to be recreated. Thank you Thank you Thank you, I tried getting the windscreen angled but couldn't get it to flow nicely with the rest of all those angles. Thank you, your work in progress shots were definitely a inspiration for my version, I'm interested in how your version will look.
  5. Hello all, It has been a bit silent from my part, but I have built something new: NS 1217 by Erwin, on Flickr The NS (Nederlandse spoorwegen/Dutch Railways) 1217 was part of the 1200 series which was a joint effort of Dutch and American designers as part of the Marshall plan. It was built in the fifties and have been in service until 1998, they were then sold of and repuposed at other transporters, with some still in service today. NS 1217 by Erwin, on Flickr NS 1217 by Erwin, on Flickr I have built a total of four carriages to accompany it, I will take some video's of them all running when I finish tweaking their designs. NS 1217 by Erwin, on Flickr My model has working lights in the front and back and 2 9V train motors. Thank you for reading/watching! As always, more pictures on my Flickr
  6. True, but I don't like the idea of ordering some €0,52 of parts on the other side of the ocean, or any other far of country, the only ones in the Netherlands are those from €3,35, which in my opnion is way too expensive. Thank you, I am not completely satisfied with the rods, but I could not think of any better way as of now. Thanks
  7. Thank you all About motorisation, no it is not motorised but I am planning on building a boxcar to go behind it which contains a battery box and motor. Thank you, the wheels came from Big Ben Bricks. I have not considered painting Lego part, mostly because I know I will not be able to deliver the quality I want. Thank you, your dark green shunter was one of my inspirations. In my opinion almost €3,50 per window is quite expensive, but that might be more a personal issue. Thank you, that could be a pretty nice explanation. Thank you very much, I will have a look at the exhaust pipe. Thank you very much.
  8. It has been a while, but here is my latest build BR Class 04 by Erwin, on Flickr It is a small shunter locomotive from the british rail. BR Class 04 by Erwin, on Flickr The doors are black because the needed windows would have cost me a fortune in dark green. BR Class 04 and small train by Erwin, on Flickr The reason I used 1X1 tiles instead of 1X2 is pure economical, the were about a third of the price, and available in a bricklink store about 15 minutes away from me. reference image from wikipedia.org Thanks for reading!
  9. I'd love to see a reboot or something like this. I really enjoyed reading Railbricks as there was/is some very useful information. As for content, my personal ideal would not be a straight forward 'build this model' instruction, but more a guide to creating your own models. Something like advise on model scaling, efficient part usage (this is especially interesting for smaller budgets and expensive/rare colours). Perhaps you could add event reports, and not only focussing on the display but also on occurred problems about running and maintaining the display/layout while being there. To be honest, I am not sure if I would subscribe to anything, but that might be my personal aversion against them even though I am seriously considering a subscription (if it would require some weird steps to get me to pay, that would probably be a turn off for me.).
  10. Did someone say spam? Beside this rare case, I seldom see any form of spam. Keep it going moderators! EDIT: This is some kind of wave, they keep coming, the topics have now kicked the regular topics from the first page.
  11. Mmh, now it is getting interesting, 9V R104 and R88, yes please! And please keep the track and sleepers as separated pieces, it opens a lot more possibilities for ballasting and MOC building. Do you have an indication for the prices and a potential delivery date?
  12. I am still completely amazed by the amount of detail and size, after your Red Lion station I thought you reached the top of what's possible, but I was proven wrong. You made something even more awesome!
  13. This is a really lovely small steam engine, supported it. If this gets to actual production it will probably the first I will buy in a couple years
  14. I like quite a lot of music, varying from Classic rock like Jimi Hendrix and Deep Purple to Metal like Slayer and DevilDriver, electronic music (The Prodigy and Pendulum), and some weird crossover stuff I could really recommend ( , I saw them live, best party I've ever been).I have a list on youtube which I update regularly for LEGO building;
  15. I've had a couple, but these are the ones I got pictures of: Started again by Erwin, on Flickr A Wip of a station by Erwin, on Flickr Although that station idea got my brain cracking on how to make it actually work now....
  16. The fact that the van says TCZ (Taxi Centrale Zwolle) which made it pretty obvious, especially when the other coach says AA-landen.
  17. I'm currently going to university studying physics, which doesn't give me much spare time for building now :/ So you live in Zwolle too?
  18. I like the idea of CrispyBassist, Perhaps make it into a challenge with a badge for the people who join.
  19. I like the little hill build, it looks nice and organic.
  20. Another great engine from your hand! I cannot wait for the next one, but you won't stop building steam engines right?!?
  21. I feel flattered to be a source inspiration You are of for a great start, if I can suggest a thing, replace the green plates underneath the ballast for those of other (cheaper) colours. I can't wait for more updates.
  22. Hi all, Some of you might know me from this topic, in which I showed the progress made on a module for a group layout. As promised, and a little late, here are some pictures of the layout which was build by Aawsum, Alois, Moos, Thomassio, Wilbert and me. This were the plans for the entire layout: Layout_Final by Aawsum MOCs Lego, on Flickr After 1 day of setting up, the layout was as good as ready, there were some minor details, but they were solved in a couple of days. 20151020_210040 by Aawsum MOCs Lego, on Flickr Now just some pictures Legoworld Utrecht 2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Legoworld Utrecht 2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Legoworld Utrecht 2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Legoworld Utrecht 2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Legoworld Utrecht 2015 by Erwin, on Flickr Legoworld Utrecht 2015 by Erwin, on Flickr And a video made by Aawsum: LTC_Legoworld2015 by Aawsum MOCs Lego, on Flickr If you want to see more photo's from the layout, these albums should help: Aawsum, Alois, Me Questions, comments and critique are as always welcome. PS. If you have a link to some photo's you shot of the layout feel free to post it.
  23. @L@go, please say hi when you spot me! Lucky you with an entire event season, this is my third this year, of which 2 only were 1 day LUG meetings. I won't be around every day because of university, but when there is someone with long hair looking like my profile picture, that will probably be me. And this is the map for the train layout.
  24. Thank you both I will make a separate topic where I will collect all the footage of the entire layout after the event.
