Players only, please! Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing) was tending the hull in the missile room. To no-one in particular, he remarked, "I'm glad I have my helmet on at night. Then I won't get my head bashed in, unlike poor Patrick." "Correct," replied a mysterious voice from behind Trevor. Pew! Pew! Pew! And that was the end of Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing). Malcolm Cooper (Mencot) was fiddling with the radio in his battle station, the radio room. He heard a knock at the door. "Come in," he said. "Hello! My, what a big hammer you have. What are you going to do with it?" asked Malcolm. Clang! Clang! responded the hammer. And that was the end of Malcolm Cooper (Mencot). This time, Thaddeus Mortimore addressed the pitifully shrunken crew. "I am pleased to inform you that Boris was a Soviet Spy, but Trevor and Malcolm were both Loyal Sailors. Keep up the good work, crew!" The NPCs: Jacob Neumann (jamesn) - Commander Thaddeus Mortimore (Tamamono) - Lieutenant Commander The Players: Monty Thornton (mostlytechnic) - Cook Philip Dabney (PirateDave84) - Crewman Jeremy Hollis (jluckhaupt) - Crewman Christopher Milton Poindexter (CallMePie) - Fire Control Officer Spencer Delgado (Speedy) - Quartermaster Edward Grey (Endgame) - Sonar Technician Claire Novak (Calanon) - Steward The Dead: Lloyd Stanton (Lego Spy) - Plot Device Jerry Bergeron (JimBee) - Loyal Sailor Patrick Nash (Peanuts) - Loyal Sailor Adrienne Walton (adventurer1) - Soviet Spy Boris Benson (Bob) - Soviet Spy Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing) - Loyal Sailor Malcolm Cooper (Mencot) - Loyal Sailor The Rules: 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned either with the Loyal Sailors (Town) or the Soviet Spies (Scum). To win the game, the Loyal Sailors must kill off all of the Soviet Spies, while the Spies need to outnumber the Sailors. Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format: Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those who died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the following day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game hosts. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread; you must always play the role given to you. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the hosts via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a vote penalty of half the required majority against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Violation of Rule 7 will have a heavier penalty, made at the discretion of the Games Moderator.

They look so dinky and cute, but appropriate in a town setting. I like the v-shaped Technic bits at the rears (are they engines?) - very good little models.

Red Menace Mafia: Day Two - Crimson Tide
jimmynick replied to jimmynick's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The crew had a brief meeting at the end of the day, eager to see off Boris Benson (Bob). Commander Neumann announced, "Please, Boris, come upstairs with me." The two went up to the conning tower. Neumann said to Boris, "Look at the ocean that spreads out in front of you. Doesn't it look nice? It represents freedom, it represents 'Murica. See how it's blue, like the American flag, and not Red, like the Soviet flag? That means it is for us." "Well, it doesn't matter if you're loyal or a spy; the crew want to see you gone. But I don't know what I'm going to do without my spare torpedoman. We have the priorities of this ship to consider." Boris mumbled in agreement. The Commander was less than impressed by Boris's response. Whoops! "Oh well," Neumann remarked. "Blub, blub," replied Boris. -

The Creator line has a rather good selection of city-themed houses and shops, most of which are fairly anonymous and the kits are designed to be built into 3 or so models. Something like the Small Cottage might be appropriate for a 5-year-old: it's not very big, it has hinges so your son can open it up to play and the minifigure comes with a skateboard!

I already saw this on Flickr, but I'd like to point out my favourite parts: the gravel (?) roof and the use of the clips on the ladders to represent barbed wire or spikes.

Hello! I made a model of a building I saw that has nifty copper details around the first-floor windows. See more pictures at Flickr. C&C welcome. Thanks for looking!

Interlude Thaddeus Mortimore was rooting around inside a cupboard. "Have you found it yet?" asked Christopher Milton Poindexter (CallMePie). "No dip," responded the Lieutenant Commander. Boris Benson (Bob) was in the head, from where Adrienne Walton's remains had thankfully been removed. But, still, he avoided sitting on the toilet where she had sat when she met her bloody end. Meanwhile, Jacob Neumann was having a look around in the radio room. He found something red in a stack of papers, and took it to show his Lieutenant Commander. "Say, Thaddeus," he began, "I found this paper with some very misspelled words on it. I think these Russkies don't know how to write proper American." "That's actually mostly in code," responded Thaddeus Mortimore. "Whatever the case, I don't understand a word of what it says. The first 3 people who can tell me what all this means might get a little prize," said Neumann. Voting is now open. -
Hi, AirborneAFOL, and I like the look of your city! I'd like to see it in higher resolution (and in detail). I recommend you get an account with Flickr or Brickshelf (or both) so you can post larger and more photos (Eurobricks doesn't have much space for uploading files).

The distribution of textures on the floor is bit weird, but the charging phone is a nifty touch and that radiator is really well-designed for using such "normal" parts.

Red Menace Mafia: Confirmation and Discussion

Thank you very much for playing, JimBee, Peanuts and adventurer1! -
Very nice house! I like the woodwork sort of things inside the dormers. The entire thing has great proportions and the texture on the chimney is a nice touch. Like you said, the roof is a bit wonky, but the rest of the house is great!

Players only, please! Patrick Nash (Peanuts) had taken off his helmet and respirator as part of getting ready for bed, revealing a blonde crew cut. He was too absorbed in his fabulous hairstyle to notice a mysterious figure coming up behind him. The figure crept up behind him, and bang! bang! the hammer came down upon his head. And that was the end of Patrick Nash (Peanuts). Adrienne Walton (adventurer1) was sitting on the toilet. Not doing much, apparently, considering her trousers were still up. But a mysterious figure was getting busy. Pew! Pew! Pew! And that was the end of Adrienne Walton (adventurer1). Jacob Neumann called a mourning meeting in his beloved control room. He announced, "In addition to poor Jerry, two other crew members were brutally murdered last night: Patrick and Adrienne. Jerry was a Loyal Sailor, Patrick was a Loyal Sailor and Adrienne was a Soviet Spy. Congrats, or something." "The fact we are still here suggests Adrienne was not the only KGB scummo on board. Root the rest out." The NPCs: Jacob Neumann (jamesn) - Commander Thaddeus Mortimore (Tamamono) - Lieutenant Commander The Players: Monty Thornton (mostlytechnic) - Cook Philip Dabney (PirateDave84) - Crewman Jeremy Hollis (jluckhaupt) - Crewman Christopher Milton Poindexter (CallMePie) - Fire Control Officer Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing) - Nuclear Engineer Spencer Delgado (Speedy) - Quartermaster Malcolm Cooper (Mencot) - Radio Technician Edward Grey (Endgame) - Sonar Technician Claire Novak (Calanon) - Steward Boris Benson (Bob) - Torpedoman The Dead: Lloyd Stanton (Lego Spy) - Plot Device Jerry Bergeron (JimBee) - Loyal Sailor Patrick Nash (Peanuts) - Loyal Sailor Adrienne Walton (adventurer1) - Soviet Spy The Rules: 1. Everything in this post is absolutely right - make models based on buildings you see in your daily life (ideally the ones that are striking in some way). When you have the facade down, (to me) the rest is a matter of stacking bricks to keep it standing. Also, if you sketch features of buildings, you can decide on a scale for the details of a facade and for the size of the actual building. It's a balancing act between getting the details and keeping the building small enough to be manageable. I wouldn't try and make a building larger than 32 (or even 24) studs wide; the narrower it is, the fewer floors you have to build to get the MOC well-proportioned and tall. If your building might end up too wide: what can you do to simplify it? If the real building has 3 windows and a door, why not try 2 or even just 1 window? If the real building has 7 floors, why not try just 4 (or 3?) If you sketch real buildings and tinker with real bricks and LDD, then eventually you will get a sense of conveying the 'spirit' of a building. Good luck!

I stand by the design in that the source building has the same windows that look out on other apartment blocks, but you may redesign it into a corner building if that's what you want to do.

Red Menace Mafia: Day One - Ice Station Zebra
jimmynick replied to jimmynick's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Commander Neumann convened the crew in the control room. "According to my calculator, Jerry Bergeron (JimBee) has been convicted with 157.95 votes." Lieutenant Commander Mortimore interrupted. "Actually, that was our average depth. Jerry Bergeron has in fact been convicted with just 7 votes. Jerry, come with us to the missile room, please." "Hush, Jerry, do not fret. This will all be over soon," said Neumann, attempting to reassure the soon-to-be-deceased Jerry Bergeron. He heard a mumble from behind. "The rest of you came to watch? Sickos." Please submit your night actions within the next 24 hours! -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yes, that's true. What I mean is that he has a sort of 'whimsy' style that is sort of an acquired taste and definitely comes through in the Palace Cinema. -
