LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
dvsntt replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I like the Sherlock television show, however I don't think that Lego would find it appropriate to make sets based on a character who's cocaine addiction is a defining trait of his personality, and routinely has murder and other violence in each episode. -
I was hoping for a picture of this set. I am very excited about this one.

I have yet to see any first-hand reports of this service yet. That is what I would like to hear. -
That is stunning. My mouth was agape scrolling through the pics; it's so detailed and alive. This is truly a masterful creation, I am very happy to have seen these pics.

I would take the strategy of rise-and-relief. The technique being you get her filled up with anxiety over the expectation of revealing something terrible, but she is so relieved when she hears what it actually is, it seems benign and shes happy that is what it is. So you start to explain that you have an urge inside, something you have to do and you're not sure she will understand. You want to be honest though, because no matter what happens after this, you will still love her and she deserves the truth always. (by now she should be looking at you a bit confused, maybe getting weepy even). Take her hand, and tell her you love her, tell her "but I am a man, a man with desires, and if I don't pursue this, I will regret it all my life"... "Honey, I like Lego, and am going to buy Lego to build and play with. It's going to be my new hobby. I hope you can support and allow me to be the AFOL I want to be" She'll laugh at you, and be happy that was your revelation, and think how silly men are and of course you can build with Lego.

Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
dvsntt replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I got mine yesterday and built it last night. It looks pretty good and is very sturdy. I do I like the hood adjustment above better, but It is fun to play with. I do have a gripe though; the figures do not fit into the interior very well. It takes a lot of fidgeting to get them situated in way the doors will close properly and they are not pushing the roof off with their heads. It can even be frustrating and not feel like Lego at all, but some endless chore.- 207 replies

Missing/damaged parts or minifigures in new sets
dvsntt replied to Tariq j's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When the Lego books that contain a mini-fig (like Darth Vader in one of them) were on the shelves, nearly all of them that I saw had had the minifig taken out of them. The latest, and most shocking thievery I've encountered has been recently though. I have been helping the local museum with a Lego exhibit, and built several playland scale figs for their doll-house display. In less then a week, all of them had been taken. Within 2 weeks, the city hall building I made for the center of their town display (encouraging kids to expand and build the town larger) had been taken, they must have put it in their bag or stroller or something. And then, a few weeks later, on one of the exhibit models surrounded by plexiglass (this is in the exhibit hall, not the kids play area where the previous thefts I described occurred), someone reached over the glass and stole several of the main figures right out of the display. It had to be an adult to have that kind of reach. But the museum does not have security guards, and with this exhibit, they have had the most visitors they have ever had, over 16,000 in a month, compared to 900 usually. -

I'm hoping Lego gives them joint credit for proposing the idea, and equally reaching the available audience and provoking interest in the projects. -
Awesome story-telling. The pics and words were in harmony, and I found it very interesting. In fact, I want to hear more of the story.

It seems a lot of plates posted are in the 16xxx range, which is statistically interesting.
