LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
dvsntt replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I admire that model so deeply. I would abandon all support of other Cuusoo projects to make this one go into production. -
Whoa, they observe daylight savings time in other countries!? I thought we were the only ones wicked enough to do that to our own citizens.

I woudl like to take a model to display, but I don't think I can stay the entire duration fo the event. Is there any sort of "time-sharing" program where I could split a display spot with someone?

I would be happy to participate with responses to your survey to help you gather your data.

I'm the IT operations manager for a small company in Colorado.

I have designed and built 3 (yes three) total MOC's in my entire life. In two cirumstances, a crucial part was very limited and I needed them in quantity of course. I believe I own the majority of all Maersk Blue headlight bricks (I have over 2000) and possibly part 3070 in Dark Red (almost 50, but skeptical someone out there still has more than that).

Removing stickers from trans-clear parts?
dvsntt replied to Roger_Smith's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I prefer to attampt tasks liek this in a hierarchal fasion of least destructive to potentially damagaing. 1) Try peeling it off with your hand 2) apply heat to the sticker and try to peel off by hand 3) use a mild detergent to attempt to penetrate the glue and disolve it 4) use a degreaser to attempt to remove the sticker 5) use a plastic razorblade to remvoe the sticker http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/plastic-razor-blades.html?kw=plastic-razor-blades&cmp=googleproducts (I epxect this will leave small scratches on the trans-glass) 6) Use a solvent -
There were 2 sets from 2005 and 2007 that included only 2 of these in each, so they are very few in quantity.

Unfortunatly, the tactics used even to make the piece of tape appear it was never removed are succesful against those tamper seals too (or they hae other methods for removing and re-applying them): http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2011/01/hacking_tamper-.html but it could certainly combat a few cases, it may be worth it.

I need only 32 more. Thanks.

I am installing an exhibit of LEGO modles at my local museum in my hometown. One of my models is a carnival ride that I would like to have functioning during the exhibit. Ideally it woudl use a DC motor instead of the LEGO battery box to drive the motor so I can run it all day (on a timer) instead of running on batteries, which wouln;t be feasible. I search online, and found people attaching a DC motor to LEGO parts, but not using the LEGO motor itself with a DC power supply. Thanks.

It looks intimidating, monsterish, but also so nimble and cute.

That is very unfortunate. I have heard of several types of "rip-off" scams involving LEGO, including taking the valuable pieces out, and returing the set for a full refund. That may be what happened in this case, and likely if someone is willing to do that, there are probabbly people calling customer service reporting missing pieces in order to receive high-value\collectible parts at no cost. I think you have been caught in the middle unfortunately. I suppose Lego is charging for this part maybe to combat scammers, I dunnno, but I would proabbly take it back to Wal-Mart and explain what hapened and receive a refund. I'd bring my scale and weigh the other packages on the shelf and alert them to any other ones missing this part, or buy the ones that weigh proeprly.

That is awesome. So huge too. -

What seems common among many of the projects that gain wide popularity, at least enough to make it to the approval process, is that they have a theme or design that crosses interests. Of course there is the Lego community, but many of the projects bring in visitors from other areas like those who have a large interest in video games (Portal, Zelda, Minecraft, etc...) or have ties to some other familiar and ubiquitous brand (Land Rover, Starbucks, McDonalds). I find little interest is had in non-licensed Lego designs; but of course there are exceptions like the bird models and the air ship, both of which I have supported.

I require a quantity of 48 pieces of part #3007 in color Dark Red. I will purchase any amount that you might have (probably only 2 for those who do have any) if shipping is reasonable. Thanks.

My favorite is the Grand Carousel.

@polywen. I can tell you first-hand of that happening to me. I had created box art for my Twist-And-Whirl ride, and was notified in my comments that Lego would not allow that, and to remove it before they removed the project. I removed it, but contacted the support team on Cuusoo to verify the remainder of the image was acceptable. They asked that I remove the red box (placeholder for the Lego logo) and said that otherwise it is fine. Without the warning from a user, I likley would have never known of this restriction until my project was pulled. It's always beneficial to warn someone.
