  1. I wish I was capable of using this software. It takes forever to source and purchase the parts, and managing the wanted list can be a nightmare itself. Please make one for people like me. I'd be happy to donate for it.
  2. How do you know so much about Lego history? Amazed.
  3. Place bricks Ina stack. Put your piece on top, then remove the stack. Kind of hokey, but that is how I do it.
  4. I recently opened a set 8274 Combine harvester. It was missing 2 little pieces, which I had available in black (instead of red). The set is from 2007, and this is the first time I have ever had missing pieces so I'm not going to worry about it.
  5. You have an incredible eye for detail. I am a bit distraught I didn't catch that before; I would have accounted for it. Clearly, getting some other eyes on a project really helps. I may re-design it. Thanks for pointing that out.
  6. @legolijnte I think I understand what you are talking about, because I see it now. The 2 windows in the center of the lower-level are a wee-bit wider then the ones on the corner. I don't think I can adjust it without making a change without altering the geometry of the other *sections. The center pillar is 2 studs wide and needs to be there, and offsetting it once stud the other way would move my hinge plates (to make the angled windows) over, and then that affects the whole area. Of course, feel free to correct me, I am quite a novice with this, this being my first attempt to recreate any sort of building. @Superkalle I would be happy to share my design. I feel I need to explain one thing before you scrutinize it. I had the walls that are recessed between the pillars, joined to the pillars with technic bricks and pins, but it turns out the 1x1 technic brick is not available in dark red. So I kept the 1x2 technic bricks in the pillars and used 1x1 bricks with a stud on the side to join them since those are available in dark red. To be certain I am making sense, this picture describes how I connected them: Here is the LXF file: http://habervision.net/offsiteimg/dickens%20front%20changed%20puttogether.lxf
  7. That steps to make the directions (step 4 of min dump-truck) is inredibally helpful. Thank you for that.
  8. Thank you, thank you! That is absolutly the best compliment I had hoped to hear.
  9. I thought I might post an update for those interested. Here are the 3 photos I am basing my model off of: This is how the building looked when I was kid: This is how it looked in the 90's: And this is how it looked today: I prefer the roof line in stone instead of the black paint, but I did't really like the look fo the all-black awning, or all-green. So I borrowed form the newer version of the building. Anyhow, here is a render of my model so far. (If anyone has better building tips or advice for the awnings, I wouldn;t mind re-doing them). As you can see I made some compromises on size in scaling it to LEGO. Appreicate any feedback, or suggestions. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for posting the LDD file. I wanted to see how you built the hubs more closely, they look designed well.
  11. Thanks for posting these directions and parts list. That tow truck is awesome, and I want one.
  12. I received my set today from S@H!
  13. I am making a building in LDD and the arches I used over the windows (92950) are not available in the color I am using (dark red). However a similiar part (3455) is aviolable, but it cannot fit the part (93273) beneath it to complete the form. Can someone suggest a method to fill in this space, or another building method to get the resutls I want. Here is an example of the probem I am encountering:
  14. I think I may have lead myself to believe that TRU would be the only ones selling it (the TRU exclusive badge on their website perhaps created that notion), and I further thought that meant one would not even be able to obtain one at a Lego store (online or b&m). Is this not true?
  15. I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. Is the 42000 set available now? I checked TRU last weekend; no dice.
  16. Oh the GT3! Such a great car, especially on track. I love that car.
  17. maybe adjust the camber so it rides on more of inside of the tire than the center of it? I dunno.
  18. The use of the differential was a really clever idea. I like that function.
  19. Just from a couple photos you were able to recreate this!? Day after day, on this site, I found another reason to be dazzled and impressed.
  20. I feel that $5 (or 5€) is a reasonable price for PDF instructions of a nice MOC. At least I would be more inclined to purchase it for $5 rather than 10. In fact I'd probably buy several for 5 and none for 10, so I think business wise you might also see more profits at that price level.
