  1. Here's an idea! Make DC's Plastic Man and Marvel's Mr. Fantastic Minifig set, and include brick built shapes and objects they have "morphed into"! Mr. Fantastic forms a teapot, he flattens, and he turns into a screwdriver in the LEGO videogame. Include a blue 2x4 or 4x6 tile that has a flattened portrait of Mr. Fantastic printed on it. Not only could you use it as the paper-thin version of Mr. Fantastic, you could also snap him onto SNOT objects. Follow the same concept for Plastic Man. Each Minifig could also be its own polybag set, too.
  2. When I heard about Aquaman being included in a Batman set, I figured Black Manta was an obvious choice to be the villain. However, they went with Mr. Freeze. Yeesh. It seems DC assumes nobody can make the mental leap to appreciate a character other than Batman or Superman. Meanwhile, Tony Stark has become a household name, and Marvel's next movie features a machine-gun toting, talking raccoon.
  3. The Batman: B and B scheme is an excellent idea! Hopefully, DC/TLG has started this, seeing how the new Batman sets include new minifigs of The Flash, Man-bat, and Batgirl; and somewhat new designs for Nightwing and The Riddler. Heck, maybe break away from making yet another Bat-related vehicle, and make sets based on the JLA's Javelin, a Plastic Man set with brick-built shapes/objects Plas has morphed into, or Blue Beetle's beetle aircraft. Yeah, they're a stretch, but I can dream.
  4. I would love to see Dark Phoenix with a brick built Phoenix effect! Also, one of the features I enjoy with the Hulk Bigfig is the shape of his fist that enables it to hold a Minifig by its legs. Now, imagine a Colossus bigfig with a fist shaped to hold a Minifig for a Fastball Special! Maybe incorporate a spring-loaded arm to perform the move, too!
  5. Hopefully there's a cascade of pics of these sets over the next few days, prelims or otherwise! I'm very pleased to see that LEGO is going with the Blackbird for one of the X-Men sets. While I would love to see an X-Mansion with several minifigs, I don't think LEGO would be able to release anything decent at an affordable pricepoint. So, here's to hoping LEGO's other X-Men set is a brick-built Sentinel. Of course, Sentinels are like Lay's potato chips, no one can have just one!
  6. BrickForge makes a custom short-hair Mohawk in a few different colors. For my Storm, I used some custom decals for torso and face, the LEGO Minifig black rocker pants, and made a custom black Minifig vest out nor LEGO cape material. The white short-hair Mohawk was the icing on the cake! I'd post pics here, but I'm relatively new to this forum. Can I attach pics directly to comments on this forum, or do I have to post a link to the pic on another site, like Flickr?
  7. I would love to have a Bigfig Kilowog! Poozer.
  8. Perhaps TLG is holding off on the GL Minifig til after its appearance in The LEGO Movie. Since most GL's are humanoid, several could be included in a set. Have a few generic GL bodies, just differentiate them by using a variety of alien heads. If the GL sets are popular, it would be great to see a Bigfig Kilowog! Poozers.
  9. I'm glad LEGO finally got around to including more trans-colored parts on the minifigs. The NRG versions of the Ninjago ninjas would have been something else if they would have been used. Perhaps TLG may use trans-colored parts with Iceman and The Human Torch. The icing on the proverbial cake would be including trans-colored parts that could be used as stands for the flyers!
  10. Adios, angst-inspiring drab colours of the recent Bat-builds! My son's gonna go amazeballs over this set with its bright colours and a build he can proudly do on his own w/o being DUPLO-fied! Looks good, LEGO!
  11. I thought I was done with the Batman sets. I mean, I think I've found more Batman minifigs lost in my couch than I've found loose change. But this scuba gear Bats looks reeeeaaaaly cool. I also like the look of that new Batmobile. I can't quit you, LEGO Batman. Curses!
  12. MARVEL/TLG discussion: MARVEL : I agree that there should be an X-Men Sentinel set. But would a robot (Hero Factory) with a few minifigs (including a Wolverine variant) ever appeal to kids in this day and age? LEGO: Nah. Let's stick with Spider-Man. Perhaps change Spidey's costume? It's simple, really; and it costs only (whisper whisper). MARVEL: WHAAA...? How much to redesign a minifig? Hecks no! Just change Spidey's vehicle du jour.
  13. Something tells me that Electro is going to make an excellent base for a custom Iceman! Just a little Brass-o to remove the lightning bolts pattern from its forehead and ta daaaaa!
  14. I sometimes have some reservations about purchasing these custom minifigs. Sure, the character rights belong to either Disney or Time Warner, but I figure that hell will freeze over by the time DC and TLG make any other minifigs/sets that aren't Batman-related. Marvel and TLG are a little better at varying their minifigs, but the character selection is horrible. If the character hasn't made an appearance on either USM or Avengers Assemble, it's not gonna see the light of day. I mean, even the "X-Men" set, and I use the name loosely, was made just because Wolverine and Deadpool have made appearances on USM. I'd be all over genuine superhero minifigs if there was better selection. I spent a little over $100 on eBay for the SDCC exclusive Phoenix Minifig. The X-Men comic books got me through some hard times as a pre-teen not fitting in because of being so introverted back then. Now, as a grown up, it felt wrong not buying Phoenix when given the chance. Now that i made it through my dark ages, I can't get enough of these custom minifigs. Besides, if Poppunkmunky wasn't making them, I'd just buy from some other customizer.
  15. I have quite a few of their minifigs. While I don't have many from other sellers to compare them to, Poppunkmunky makes quality stuff. Great attention to detail and a durable product at a good price.
  16. A Super Heroes CMF line would sell like hotcakes! If TLG is willing to devote an entire CMF series to The Lego Movie minifigs, perhaps TLG would consider a Super Heroes CMF line if The Lego Movie series sells well.
  17. Wow. All those builds are rather plain. Remember when LEGO was all about the build, and the minifigs were only accessories? Good times...good times. While I am VERY grateful form such an assortment of Marvel heroes AND villains, I wish the sets accompanying the minifigs didn't look like something my 4 year old son whipped up in an afternoon. I don't understand how TLG can release such gems as the Quinjet and Tony Stark's Malibu mansion, then release an entire line of this stuff. TLG is capable of so much more!
  18. I hope any new Ninjago environment sets are a little more substantial than the previous sets. The old ones seem like more of a backdrop that included either a dragon or a robot.
  19. I feel ya, man. I went to Starbuck's today, and not only were they out of cinnamon to sprinkle on my latte, they couldn't break my $100 bill. First World problems stink. Now to make my comment LEGO-related. I keep seeing that the new Marvel sets may not be released til May 2014. Is this just for the sets that loosely tie into the Marvel summer movies , like The X-Men, or all the Marvel sets?
  20. Very CHILLING scenes! Haw haw! Very good representation.
  21. I love this MOC! The special touches, like Dr. Quinzel's secret room AND the rec area, really make this a wonderful build. Bruce Wayne on the TV is hilarious! Thanks for sharing these pics.
  22. Taskmaster in his classic blue/orange/white outfit was in USM last season in an episode that also featured Deadpool. But I don't think he has been in any Avengers episode yet. Maybe TLG and Marvel had plans for Taskmaster to be included in a USM set, but ran out of room after the Minifig was already in production? Or, they felt Taskmaster was a better fit in an Avengers set. I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.
  23. Very good! That is what I needed to know, especially regarding researching the modifications. Thank you.
  24. I could dig The Stig Minifig! But it would take 5 seconds to make one outta some pieces in my spare parts bin. I don't get the online app appeal, but I could really get behind Minifig scaled classic cars like vintage Jags, Aston Martins, Ferraris, muscle cars, etc. I imagine licensing would be a nightmare, though.
  25. If LEGO is gonna make a classic Thor Minifig, then I wish they would give it the winged helmet already.
