First of all, welcome at Eurobricks! According to the rules on this forum, it´s better first to introduce yourself. Other than that it´s impolite to bump old topics, I have to say this here, even if this topic is about my MOC. I´ll answer your question anyway: I didn´t try Sbrick on this model myself and don´t know if somebody else did. But you can replace the IR receivers with SBrick without any issues regarding the needed space or performance of the model. Some slight impovisation is needed to cover the top with smooth bricks or something. The issues which could bother you, are related with the SBrick itself, its software, the device you are using and the right settings. Good luck with it and have fun! @moderators: I´m not really happy that Blakbirds pictures aren´t shown anymore, but the Lego Expert´s marvels do somehow in every post ...

That´s what I wanted to say, thanks for the illustration ! I think the variations in the total amount of friction consists mainly of these factors: 1. contact diameter of both sides combined; 2. thickness tolerances; 3. softness of the material; 4. not to forget: the inner radius of the whole which causes some "wobbling" effect of which impact on the total friction would have to be figured out yet. We wonder what advantage the red clutch gears were supposed to deliver, besides the possibility to engage a driving ring from both sides, which is almost useless, at least I haven´t seen any practical application for that purpose. Victor mentionned that the old driving rings caused much less friction in his gearbox (version 3)! Why on earth? That´s for me the big question... EDIT: maybe someone wants to try the 6542a gears as well, to make this "scientific research" complete .

It´s quite obvious that the old DBG clutch gears cause less friction than the new red ones. The "turntable" surface on the rings or their contact raduis, are very different, adding on BOTH sides (don´t know how to say it better in English)! I guess the difference in thickness is important too, regarding the tighter spacings between the surrounding parts. This makes me want to rebuild my 42056 in the next week and replace the gears, just for finger exercise, leaving out all of the other fan based improvements.

[WIP] Bugatti Chiron 1:8
brunojj1 replied to Leviathan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ah ok, so you´d have to gear down the entire gearbox again for RC motors to make all gears work, which is undesirable. Maybe better just move the L motors to a better location.. I like your idea to alternate manual and RC mode by a shifter ! My proceedings with scaling are quite similar, I use Sariel´s model scaler and then draw it by hand with help of grids or print a kind of 1:1 wallpaper, put it on my desk and cover with thick transparent pvc foil, matching for physical comparison. Those other builders you´ve mentioned are far more skilled, build more and faster than me, but thanks anyway! I think Pipasseyes Veyron is a very, very good and great functional model - I don´t know why I can´t say it´s superb as most of his other creations, probably it could have turned out even better in other color / wheels IMHO...- 60 replies

[WIP] Bugatti Chiron 1:8
brunojj1 replied to Leviathan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for sharing your fun at this WIP! Sorry, but I didn´t get why you preferred to install 4 L motors instead of 2 RC motors which you had put in at your first gearbox version if I remember it correctly? It seems to me that the motors in the rear will make it difficult to fit the airbrake mechanism in. And the W16 (which I like very much!) is located very high for my taste, hopefully it will match the required limits? Are you using blueprints or a model scaler like Sariel´s one? I really enjoy your front bodywork attempt. Of course it´s hard to do, especially in blue. It will be interesting for me to see then the comparison with Sheepo´s legendary Veyron which was built a long time ago in the same scale. That´s a nice sporty challenge you´ve taken on, I appreciate that! EDIT: you admitted it already - the engine is too high, I´m sure you´ll find a solution for that- 60 replies

Although Russian people are well educated and many people know the English language well, I apreciate your idea and your big efforts! If only in China there would be more of such sincere people like you supporting and promoting LEGO sets and MOCs to fans (not bold Lenin copies, stolen instructions, books or similar crap). So I´m waiting for you, Marina, to contact me to get my permission for displaying my MOCs on your website ! (joking, not necessary).

Zero's workshop

You are a brave heart and really sympathic guy, I think everybody will understand you! There are many things which are much more important than a hobby. Don't take it too serious and go the next step in your life. Wish you all the best, Jerry! -
Very good Ferrari, thanks for sharing! I wish Firas Abu Jaber were here too...

That´s a very good question and I had exactly the same thoughts recently. As far as I can tell the difference – Model Team creations (at least vehicles with wheels on them) do have steering and resemble accurate replicas of something and Creator models usually don´t. The Model Team line isn´t being produced anymore for a long time (which is very sad for most AFOLs). Edwins ships fall into the category “from other planet” and the moderators still are struggling whether to send him back or create his own special theme … Seriously, his creations have moving parts and PF lights and so on – this is Model Team building at its best!

Looks tasty ! Seems a lot has changed since your last version and you´re still having fun doing that . You have shown clearly the limits of the entire system. RC motors will make the drivetrain run faster, but unfortunately not the shifting itself which I expected to be quicker. Please don´t feel offended if I say this: you haven´t (re-)invented the wheel, the principle looks like some of Sheepo´s gearboxes to me and it has “only” R+4 (which is great anyway!) And you have finally convinced me not to try again – too big and too slow for my motorized applications, I´ll try something entirely different instead. Thank you for that and for sharing!

I´m not affected myself, yet breaking lances for others. Does anybody care who is affected?? If not, I´m out of this discussion, sorry. @agrof: I totally agree that we should be aware and at least try to chase them down. Of course it´s not possible on the long run, but should we surrender before this stupid parasites? It´s not funny at all, same case with YT video thiefs recently exposed by Sariel. There is a big problem though with making profit with others´ work, regardless how much more valuable CAD instructions are compared to foto sequence or LDD. Is there an agreement with the designer? In the above bespoken case obviously not. You mentioned examples of CAD instructions - would you please be more precise? Do you know the instructions maker?

This makes me feel angry and sad too, thanks anyway for your notice. His ebay account is new, but I remember having seen his “portfolio” somewhere else (or is it a new “smart” one?). Such guys are criminal scum without any moral or talent, needless to say that such a person is one of the worst enemies of this community! I´ve made the shocking discovery, that his location is Herford – it´s near my home town ! And I´m really tempted to make a test buy to find out his address and come over there to beat him up!! Not sure how to deal with it if my personal copyrights are not affected, but according to German strict copyright laws it´s possible to persecute him on legal basis. Feels bad that nobody will do it because it´s not worth the court costs… EDIT: I´ve reported all of Madoca´s creations saying "copiright issue" and telling them who the author is.

[MOC] ICARUS Supercar

You should check all motors and wires. If one of them has a bad contact, it can stall the entire drivetrain.- 220 replies

Ferrari FXX Supercharged V12
brunojj1 replied to Lox Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great FXX, big compliments to your bro too  !! I´m glad if I could motivate you in any way to improve to next level and I really enjoy the result ! I think you would have to invest another month to make the doors open some 15 degrees further, perhaps too many headaches. However, it´s "perfect in every detail" if it gives you so much fun and satisfaction .- 142 replies

Second that, he´s one of the best along with you, Lipko ;-). Although his models don´t scream for attention at first glance and they arent´t designed for this purpose, I admire such building style (e.g. his Liebherr cranes, Unimog) with so much attention to Model Team style details everywhere next to all sort of Technic functionality. That is something very hard to accomplish both in one Lego model, even if some people may call it not "pure" or "clean" or whatsoever. And to point that out - he didn´t build it primarily for the contest or to get into HoF somewhere, but because he just loves doing.

[PORSCHE] 550 Spyder
brunojj1 replied to Victor Imaginator's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think this build is worth a second look anyway, although it´s totally missing curvy shapes - mission impossible with square LBG bricks, as you admitted yourself. But if to consider the parts count while looking at the very clean underbelly – it´s a great model ! Thanks for sharing! -

Paul's 2011 supercar indeed could be considered as a 8070 MOD because it looks quite similar (was designed after released pictures) and then his Deluxe supercars which have similar proportions were developed further. But they are NOT either. -

brunojj1 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It´s definitely not a MOD! It´s your sovereign decisions what to add and what not and I´m personally fine with that. But maybe it would be better even not to explain according to which criteria a MOC is beeing added or not, IMHO.
