  1. I have to agree. I love when art can be brought into LEGO, as is done here. The miniatures are gorgeous, but the sky is absolutely what sells the build.

  3. I'm with the others. Olive green was a superb choice, and I love the mushrooms. Like I said to Soccerkid, I'd love to see the planets look more unique and alien, and this one certainly creates a feel for Direstan.
  4. Love the Jaguar! The lights on the front are awesome, and I can totally imagine them playing on the ground as he roves around at night. The pipes are a great touch too.
  5. Nice looking alien surface! The trees and the purple landscape are awesome. The rig is also cool - love the "ladders" as a grated window, looks good, and a fun shape! Great to see M.A.N.T.I.S. bringing the heat. And I hope this inspires more alien landscapes. Would love to see each planet acquire a more specific look and feel.

  11. Love the little bike - the controls and the whole front are a particular favorite of mine - feels very functional and stream-lined while remaining sleek. The worm is gorgeous too - I love the "interior teeth" and the slight angle on them, look like they'd suck you right in and shrewd you up! Lovely dynamic action too.

I'll echo the others - the forced perspective could use a wider background, OR perhaps a better defined "middle ground" - it goes from close up to far away too swiftly.   18. Love how you include other characters into your stories and builds! Lovely build too, a lot of fun, great ship and nice underground caves. It's nice to see some humor built into that big scary galaxy out there. My one suggestion would be to create more of a crater where the ship landed, but other than that lovely all around and I look forward to see what happens to "call sign pombe" next.

  22. Boomingham actually would have liked the Wolfgang if Baba hadn't shown up. If she's taken out of the picture he'd probably go back onto the fence. I think a really cool way to make the Wolfgang more credible would be to take down the Veterans a peg - make them a bit more shady and what not. They very clearly don't like the Wolfgang (for the same reason as Baba siding with them) but we really don't know what the Veterans are up to. I imagine between the six of them, and with a personal army at their command, some of them may abuse the power - especially those who have political leanings in their every day lives. I think Sandy has done a nice job of hinting that we don't really know much about them yet. I mean, imagine if the current heroes grew up to be Veterans. I imagine almost ALL of them would abuse that power in some way, even the more moral standing ones.

  24. [Log Entry II - Lorstan II] I've been planet side for a little over a week now, and have settled into my routine. The job is simple (painfully so, I am sure once I have gone off to further lands a robot will be tasked with it). After scouting and affirming the existence of several small isles I was airdropped a number of desalination tanks which I set up quickly and easily in six different locations. I now spend my days traveling between all six of my locations, making sure that each machine is running as it should. The work is mind-numbing. There has yet to be a problem, and I have yet to run into another human soul - nay, yet to run into another living thing. It rains most days, but today I have been blessed with some meager sunlight peaking through the clouds. My favorite site - my de facto home - is at the edge of a small forest of tall black bamboo (what it truly is I cannot say, but I will call it bamboo for lack of a more scientific label - there is much work to be done on Lorstan once it is made livable). I sleep here most nights, and am kept company by some of my favorite authors. Though I've yet to have direct contact with any of the pilots who air drop my supplies and the like (I send a transmission to corporate and they see to it that my needs are filled) they have been kind enough to honor my requests for literature and green tea. I stand now staring at the ocean as warm liquid seeps into my belly, and though my mind is abuzz with the great words I've read today I am reminded instead of a poem from my childhood: Water, water, everywhere, And all the boards did shrink; Water, water, every where, Nor any drop to drink.
