OoC: I'm not particularly married to the idea of ending this battle in Utter Darkness, but in over 24 hours no one tried any strategy to get rid of it, so I guess it's sticking around... Weather: Utter Darkness - All combatants have a 1/3 chance of missing each of their targets. If Utter Darkness persists for two rounds, all combatants become confused. Boomingham glances at the temple, and then sits down outside it to wait for Peri. He leans against the building, glancing at the Vindicators to make sure it was alright. Barty pops into existence next to him and hovers, darting back and forth nervously. "Should I be worried?" "About the lobo blanco?" Barty continues to dart around. "I would think so." "Right? Ulrica? Can't be chance, right? That'd be absurd. Rather open of her, though, to use that name around anyone from the Freeport. We already have one wolf-headed messiah to worry about… now looks like the Sisters have one too. Wonder what she's promising them." There's a long pause. "So… what do you think we should do?" There's an even longer pause. Barty stops darting around and hovers right in front of Boomingham's nose instead, making the King go slightly cross eyed. "I don't know, Lawrence. As I've told you probably one hundred times, I am an angel, not a psychic." "I know you claim to be an angel or a demon or whatever you want to call it. Wasn't asking for divine intervention. Just asking a friend for advice. Usually you're all about spiting the evil doers. You think she's one? Should I go try to smite her?" The boy seems like he's got air in his head instead of brains, and Eric is an old chum, no question, but he's got his nose on gold more than anything else. And who knows which way peg leg leans. Maybe if Rex's date goes well and we get the girly on our side, we might stand a chance. But then again, the Wolf has got her own pack." "We should try to figure out what she's up to first. What an absolutely stunning build! There's so many good things to take in - the concept is genius and a lot of fun, and the build works to bring it to life. The hole in the desert looks fantastic, and the rock formations are extremely well done, a real sense of the space and I love the way you've got the two layers. Even the way the rock face first recedes, and then surges back forward is a great touch. My two notes: maybe a little wavering in the rock layers - I know they occasionally form in perfectly straight lines, but just a little bit wavier might be better. Also, the ceiling of the rock area is flat - I think a few stalagmites (not many, just a few) might make it more dynamic and in line with the rest of the build. But like I said up top, the build is stunning, and I aspire towards things like this. Damn you, Octan! (Even love the little dune buggy build!) EDIT: And I love the story of your character so far! His excitement over his discoveries along with his reluctance/defeat right before he finds them is fun.

So if we wanted to gain the same reward from a planet twice we might want to make a deal with another corporation to trade the planet back and forth between us for domination each week, gaining the bonus from the material over and over again?

Superb build! Very industrial feel, and again the black ends up being a nice accent on that front without washing over the Kawashita colors. I absolutely love the Mech and how bulky and chunky it looks with all the fat rounded bits. The upper legs are my favorite bit of it - the square shape with rounded edges always feels like heavy lifting equipment to me, and I love the shoulders for the same reason (though their flat backs are a little bit of a disappointment in comparison to the rest of the build). Really nicely done, looking forward to more heavy industrial Kawashita builds as we start to make our presence known.

Heckz just kills me all the time. Hilarious. I love characters like him and Pretzel who go out of their way to make trouble. (As long as it's done respectfully in regards to the other players, which it always is from those two, in my opinion).

He didn't kill me, but he shoved me right off the planet into the void for all of one second, and when I stepped back on to firm soil an odd two hundred forty of fifty years had swam by me. My kingdom was gone, my family dead…" Boomingham shrugs. "So, that's probably why you've never heard of me. Before your time." "Aye, I understand, got to be careful." Boomingham shrugs. "Wouldn't say my heart belongs to the Sister, hardly know her except that she hides below deck when battles arise and she comes from my home town. And I have to keep her alive. I'll stick happily to that one, but I don't think the selections are fights to the death, so it doesn't much matter to me who wins." He takes out his handkerchief and mops his forehead. "Though perhaps you can enlighten me, seeing as you two are becoming my kind of ladies- well, everyone's acting as if its sink or swim to me if Eubric gets elected oldest aunt, but what bearing does that have? No offense, of course, but I've never really heard of you sisters much other than as healers once in a blue moon, so why does everyone think I'd risk life and limb to get Ovelia elected? Why shouldn't it be greenie or white wolf?"

A really nice build - I'm a big fan of all your builds so far, though this is my first time commenting! I like the story - I think it will be a lot of fun to see how the characters slowly become fleshed out over the course of the game. The one thing I think the build is missing, which I really loved about your previous build, is a clear focal point, or even just a clear contrast. The line down the center (is it a walkway [i think it is], or somewhere you really shouldn't walk, always hard to tell with lava ) is a nice way to break up the spires and the lava flows, but I think what is missing is something big. A particularly tall rock spire might do it. You have them a bit on the far side of the MOC, opposite the walkway, which makes me feel that you feel the same way. Or, maybe some other hints of some other color scattered throughout? A little hovering droid on the far side harvesting lava, to pull the MANTIS colors through more? I don't know, all just minor suggestions that I think might make a difference, but like I always say, if we're down to nit-picking it means the rest of it is pretty damn good.

OoC: In fairness, in the 8 rolls of this battle Grimwald has rolled 2 shields, 1 hit, 3 meditates and 2 damages, so it's not like he's getting absurdly bad rolls across the board. Nice build, love the detail and the "blocky" industrial feeling of those two side engines - very cool. I love the pipes running between them and the cockpit as well, really nice touch. I think the "missiles" or "guns" (whatever they are, can't quite tell) protruding from them are a little too obtrusive though. I'd prefer seeing something smaller, or even just keeping them as full boxes. The protrusions break up the flow of what is a pretty nice build, over all, in my opinion at least. Even the missiles on the connecting poles (the green and red things between cockpit and engines) are too "flow breaking" in my opinion - I feel like weaponry would be clustered near the cockpit both for aesthetic and practical reasons. But, those are all nit-picks, I over all love the feel of the ship.

Stunning. I usually avoid building in black because I feel it doesn't photograph well/is too boring, but this absolutely proves me wrong - you've used it but highlighted it perfectly! The door is a great look, I love the vents near the window, and of course the background (simple, yes) is what sells this MOC. GREAT sense of space, great idea to contrast the exterior color/feel of nature with the interior, and just superb all around. :thumbup:

Superb build. I agree, the guys holding onto the sides are what really sell it. There's a nice mix of grebe/heavy look (front) mixed in with the simple "flat spaces" of anything that has to lug equipment a long way (the back). I especially like the way the guns on the back look - nicely contrasted with the empty space, they look very functional. Cool build.
