  1. Quality won't be there for another decade or two. Really when you get up close to 3d printed things they're not that hugely impressive. Some of the more expensive ones (talking REALLY expensive like 10k+) can do a good job but I'd still doubt the pieces would have the durability of Lego. That said. It'll probably happen some day. I'm highly doubting Lego has much to worry about. First off it'll continue to be a niche market. It's neat but not everyone knows how to 3d model. Regular printers are much more accessible because you can print photos and stuff. They won't be overtaken. Even with more and more people learning to 3d model the amount won't increase THAT much. The casual people will still go to Lego. Piracy might be an issue meaning if you could download new bricks then print them. But I'm still doubting the costs will become realistic for another 20 years at least. And who knows, sometimes costs just DO NOT go down enough. Sometimes something is always impractical. That could mean it's even further than 20 years. It's hard to predict the future and not everything that was invented 30 years ago is affordable today. 100 years? It's anyone's game. I just don't think Lego has anything to worry about for at least a few decades. If they're lucky it'll happen slow enough for them to adapt and still be alive through some means.
  2. My most wanted set but sadly I don't see it happening for a good while. It dook them what, 13 years to release a new version of the UCS X-Wing? The Falcon is from like 2006. I know that's hardly evidence but I'm seriously doubting they'll do it for a while. At the earliest perhaps when Episode VII comes out if it has the Falcon (it supposedly does via an interview). But they'd probably release it in the normal set... As for improvements. I don't own it but one thing I did notice was the cockpit's fake or lack of windows. It's just a few bars to give the illusion. I'd want that to be a real transparent mold. As it needs proper interiors.
  3. I'm concerned that the obvious lack of guest appearances by big stars like Samuel L. Jackson will affect it. S.H.I.E.L.D. without Nick Fury? Without coming into contact with the big guns? I hope we're not stuck with nothing but second tier heroes like Luke Cage who is... okay... just not 1st tier. I have no idea what direction they're going to bring this. Law and Order? Smallville? Whatever...
  4. You know, honestly I don't care. I view this as trying to cheat the system. I call it fair game on Lego's part. Plus this ignores a lot of economical factors that some people have already addressed. Economics are more than just currency conversions. There's a lot of factors in play. You guys get some other stuff much cheaper than us. One reason America is so fat is our "terrible for you" food is 1/4th the price. Healthy food is 4x the price. Often it's worse. Of course that's just an example that doesn't explain anything. :P
  5. Minifigure scale all the way. But some UCSs are minifigure scale. Those are the best ones. :)
  6. I've never done one but considered how every single time I let a kid near or touch anything of mine they ruin it within a few minutes... yeah... no. I'm not even exaggerating. The little buggers ruin everything they touch. Somehow managing to delete save files when I let them play games. Or gunk up controllers like they're cake. Or touch my models and break them. 100% of the time! Kids!!!! I've watched bad stuff happen too. Like someone's custom home built R2-D2. Kid comes by and just grabs a part of it and rips it off.... Maybe I'm unlucky or something. Kids just always seem to ruin everything. Parents sometimes are idiots and laugh too.
  7. I couldn't do it as a kid. I always wondered about the uggo rainbows even then. If I couldn't pull something off with the correct colors I'd give up. Better than a rainbow random mess. :P
  8. The Ghost ship's Army of the Dead minifigures in my opinion kind of suck. They just look like green d00ds. Wish they were transparent and tried a little harder. There's no way I'll be getting that set. And where's my Sauron minifigure? I want one already. Tall like Woody and stuff. :)
  9. Spoilers for the last episode: Bad episode :P. The kids were the biggest idiots I've ever seen. It was just so unrealistically exaggerated how insane these kids are. I mean they thought they were ON THE MOON for a second and literally complained. THE MOON! Kids aren't THAT dumb. No kids their age would pick an amusement park over THE FREAKIN' MOON! And the older girl's comments were just really stupid every single freakin' time. It's like these kids don't seem to care they're on a freakin' time machine/spaceship, they're going to another world. It's all "dumb" to them. They were (mostly the older one) the most unrealistically unappreciative and entitled little brats in the whole universe! Not to mention how they figured out that their fake-mom was a time traveler... It's just all so unbelievably stupid. Honestly, I was looking forward to giving more specific examples of the absurdities but I seemed to have erased it from my mind. It was so painful. Another bad episode in a "meh" season.
  10. I'd suggest it was pointless too but then again we've seen Purdue Pete...
  11. I might be entering a new dark age. Long story short, my business investment paid off. I went from having just over $10 in my bank account and being poor to now having... a heck of a lot more. Pay day came. I have more spending money than I ever have to put it lightly. But something odd has happened. I had spending plans. Nothing huge or unrealistic. Buy a bunch of Lego. Buy other things. Blablabla... But suddenly I've got this sense of financial responsibility having more money (by far) than I've ever had before. And I'm doing some major hesitations on spending much of it. I've looked at Lego sales but haven't pulled the trigger. Suddenly Lego seems less important. It's odd because when poor I could throw my money away easily. I didn't have much of it so why bother saving? If I saved it would only go to stupid things like food :P and I could starve a bit for a Lego set. Now that I'm no longer poor I've gone into horde mode or something. I'm not a millionaire or anything but I can't seem to get myself to pull the trigger on material things. Maybe it's temporary. Maybe it's not. Suddenly my financial future has opened up and I'm not sure lego sets are a priority anymore. Instead it might buying a house or something. I've been racking my brain for a few weeks with this. Want to buy, but don't want to buy. Can buy all the sets I ever wanted! But shouldn't... The frustrations of not being poor anymore... First world problems.
  12. Pulp Fiction Had always heard people rave about it. It was fine. Don't see what's so special though :P. Some good parts. Some boring parts.
  13. Star Wars is like my favorite thing but i see no reason to make Star Wars mocs very often. Most of the stuff I'd want to make are already sets. X-Wing and stuff. Anything like a unique ship I make would simply be imitation and not truly fit IN Star Wars. There's no room for interpretation when it comes to creativity here. It's just either Star Wars, or it's not. And they've covered most of the stuff in Star Wars already.
  14. It's a bit odd that the R2 unit is regular minifigure scale. The ship is bigger. I feel like they should have printing a dome piece that's twice as big with R2 details and stuck it on the top instead of using a minifigure when the ship isn't minifigure scale.
  15. I'm actually not impressed with any of the existing minifigure scale snowspeeders Lego has put out. Just looks less like the ship than say the X-Wing or A-Wing (B-Wing also is kind of meh). I like everything else though. I want that Probe Droid.
  16. Geeze I'd love that Falcon to come out again. Rerelease pleace. I'd scoop up at least two at launch. This is the single most wanted Lego set for me but it's like $3000. :( I was too young and poor when it first went 50% off. I saw the sale. Wanted it. But there was no way I could afford it. At the moment I could easily afford it! Come on Lego!
  17. Wonder Woman if given to Whedon (buffy, avengers d00d) would have some nice light moments (with darkness ;p but nice light funny moments in the mix). I bet DC/Warner is kicking themselves for getting rid of Whedon when he tried to do Wonder Woman. I can imagine a lot of funny light moments coming from her adjusting to the United States kind of in line with Captain America (which they haven't really explored in the movies much yet) but more.
  18. I want the iron patriot but don't really want the game. Lego games got old years ago. :( Anyways, I hear this Lego Batman movie is bascially just the cutscenes from the game. Is that true?
  19. Well everything is pointing to Disney screwing up Star Wars. I'll still wait to make my final judgement until they actually release something though. This game stuff... EA really, really sucks. I mean they're terrible. They ruin EVERY good company they buy out. Just look at Bioware and Mass Effect. They bought Bioware and changed ME3's story and ending to crap. All the good employees left (key writers!). And now we're going to get microtransaction heavy games. Want them game? $60. Want this extra level at release? $10 DLC! Their games are so ridiculously DRM'd and microtransactioned I can't play them anymore. So they can't make amazing games and they're going to charge out the butt for them...
  20. Mehhhh... Honestly one of the big factors that pissed me off about Lego Universe (besides it's extreme lack of content) was the incredibly strict community. You could barely talk. If you said "butt" the mods would probably ban you for a week. Being an adult in the Lego world tends to suck. To much ridiculous censorship. They cater to kids and screw adults. I don't expect this to change as it's Lego's policy with online.
  21. This season is real Meh for the most part. Some decent episodes. The Tardis episode was decent but they they had to go an set back everything instead of letting the story advance from there. I'm really not digging the cinematic style of the latest episodes which I attribute to the new head writer. And ALL of the "scary" stuff is ridiculous and absolutely laughable. "Oh look! Their heads are turning around and have something in them!" "Oh noes these dead people are covered in Ketchup or something!" It's like the return of Season 1 (new series) and creatures like those lardy things and stupid yellow people who wear human skin... The new companion has an interesting story which I'm legit interested to see answers in, but the way they're just lazing along literally undoing any progress sometimes... And her character is too much like Pond. Sassy attitude confidence stuff. Pondish. Why do all the women lately act the same in Doctor Who? I just wish they'd get this story arc over with and go on. Too many episodes that both aren't very good and don't advance the story. Too many of the same character traits. Too many laughable "monsters". Blablabla... Worst season for this doctor so far. Not to mention the Pond's lame sendoff.
  22. Another crappy deal direct from Lego. Unless it's one of the few that are only sold there (or mostly only sold their) there are always better values elsewhere. And a Han Solo minifigure isn't unique enough for me to care :P.
  23. This just makes me hope they start revisiting Hoth more... AT-ST AT-AT mainly... Also a good Snow Speeder. I don't feel like we've gotten any really good ones yet. Same with the B-wing but that's not hoth (minifigure scale).
  24. As someone with no nostalgia for this I don't really like it . Nostalgia is blinding you people! ;) The build is okayish but inferior to the recent ones. The minifigure is inferior and his helmet is short and stubby or something... 3/10!
  25. Anything with Bebop, Rocksteady and THE Kraang (the d00d named Kraang not the species).
